Sziget Festival is paying tribute to the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution!
Budapest 56 Bar A unique and specially arranged pub, created out of an AN-2 airplane. In this special place that evokes the spirit of the 50’s visitors can also try the Budapest 56 cocktail (based on palinka and champagne). The cocktail itself will be available at almost all Sziget pubs. Wall of heroes The 100 metres wall next to the OTP Bank A38 Stage will present portraits of the unknown heroes of the revolution. Parallel to the wall you will find the road of international flags, including the Hungarian flag with a hole in the middle (the symbol of the 1956 revolution). Tower of Freedom A unique, gigantic art installation, which serves both as a space for exhibition and relaxing. Inside the building an exhibition will take place, showing the heroes of the revolution and also some video footage. Besides, the main roads of Sziget will be named after the heroes of the revolution, hostesses will hand out tattoos of them and talk about their story. At the RIO 2016 olympic games venue we will present the life of Ferenc Puskås (the most famous Hungarian football player).
This campaign is supported by the 1956 Memorial Committee.
