In a time not so long ago, in a place not so far away, there lived a king, a queen, a princess, and a baby prince. The king was a very busy man. The kingdom of Racine was a beautiful place and needed much care to stay so pretty; the king and queen spent long hours making sure the beautiful lakes and forests were perfectly clean and free of litter. The princess also loved helping keep everything pretty.
The king was sure to take time from his busy, busy days to take a walk with the Princess. Princess Emma. Princess Emma was the sweetest little girl, and the king loved her very much. She always liked taking walks with her daddy, the king. Little did Princess Emma know, the king had a special surprise for her today!! The king was taking her to the orchard to let her pick out the most beautiful apple in the whole orchard for her to eat!
“Emma”, the king bellowed “, It's time for our walk”!
“Coming daddy” Emma grinned.
“We are going to the orchard today, and you will get to pick out your very favourite apple to eat all up,” said the king.
“YAY YAY YAY!” screeched Emma.
So, the king and Princess Emma set out for the tune. Holding hands and walking toward the orchard, the king and princess told each other funny jokes and laughed the whole way. They were truly happy!!
They arrived at the orchard and started looking for the biggest, most beautiful apple in the whole orchard. The trees were so very green, with big red apples all over the branches. The smell of the air in the orchard was so clean and fresh. Emma was looking very hard for the best apple in the whole world!!
The king and princess walked for quite a while, and suddenly…
“DADDYYYY” Emma yelled “DADDY DADDY”!
“Yes Emma, what is it?” the king said, startled. “There it is, the most shiny and beautiful apple in the whole world. I want it, I want it, I want it!!”
The king looked up, and the apple was at the top of the tallest tree in the orchard. This will be hard, but the king made a promise to the princess, and he intended to keep it!
The king called for the tallest horse in all of the kingdom. When the horse arrived, he climbed up on the saddle to try to reach the apple. The king was a very tall man but also enjoyed his feasts. Just then, the ladder started feeling tippy; the king grabbed a branch and was hanging there as the ladder fell over.
The king's grip started to slip, and he tumbled down softly and landed in the soft grass at the bottom of the tree.
