a re-difined fine dining experience
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA
This collaborative project proposes a design for Su Jin, a re-defined fineding expirecne located in the mountains of Seoul. The name originates from Sino-Korean, which is an ancient dialect of the Korean Language. Sino-Korean vocabulary includes references from Chinese characters as well as words borroed from Sino-Japanese vocabulary. The translation of “Su” correlates to gather and harvest, and “Jin” relates to precious and rare. This directly connects to our concept and story of learning from nature’s everlasting beauty.

CONCEPT
Biomimicry is a practice that learns from and mimics the strategies found in nature to solve human design challenges—and find hope. We can use biomimicry to not only learn from nature’s wisdom, but also heal ourselves—and this planet—in the process.
The Mugunghwa is the national flower of South Korea. It is an object of deep affection, meaning “eternal blossom that never fades”. It is recognized for its hardiness and resilience.
The Yoo Market is used to educate guests on the natural ingredients grown locally from farms around South Korea. Guests are then able to take ingredients home to make traditional dishes that were taught at the restaurant. This idea is to help minimize waste in the restaurant industry.
The Mugunghwa Lounge is located in the center of the space. The centralized area takes inspireaion from traditional Hanok Style architecture with a center courtyard creating symmetry and balance. It is a place where guests will find themselves in harmony with nature in a serene and calm environment.
Mugunghwa Lounge
The lanterns are inspired by the stigma of the flower. They are located in the center of the structure and hang over the Mungunghwa lounge. Omyeong originates from the Korean language and translate to stigma.

MATERIAL MOSAIC
a connective workplace environment
Savannah, GA
This project proposes an office design for St. Franks, a textile company. Mosaic, by definition, is a design process made by arranging multiple pieces of variously colored material to create a pattern using a network of interconnected and interdependent elements. Each piece is strategically placed in order to achieve such an effect, and symbolizes the rich cultural history of the community from which it originates.
This project aims to create a space that entwines the stories and values of the company with its handcrafted artisan products. Thus, this new St. Franks office space creates an environment for its employees and clients that attracts talent, drives engagement, and impacts happiness and satisfaction.

Double height space makes for a better connected work environment with lots of open work space to encourage collaboration within the company, and to drive employee engagement and satisfaction.
Conference Room
Circular shaped window/wall design inspired by the St. Franks logo.
The lounge includes a frame wall of different handmade textiles, locations of where the products originate, and of a few of the artisans. Connecting to the concept of intertwining the history and purpose of the company into the design.
Having more areas for employees to work and hang out improves their engagement and creates a better work culture and reduces over crowding.

This mid-century modern inspired chair consists of a deep forest green suede found on the seat and the backrests. Surrounding that is a cream protected leather that introduces contrasts. The legs and base is made from a durable deep walnut wood. Markers, pencils, and pens were used in this hand rendering to display an understanding of texture when using these materials.

This collection proposes a design for a scarf to be sold at Panamanian gift shops. These individual motifs found in the background and boarder are inspired by traditional fabric art made by indigenous women called Molas. The motifs found in the foreground are inspired by Panamas exotic flora and fauna found in their dense rain forests.
