Year : 2022 Project name : Inclusive Type : Portable architecture (2nd Semester Year 2- Design Studio 4) Location : Bau,Sarawak Entitled as “Inclusive” keeping the inclusivity concept where every stages of ages were all are included. The concept remaining the initial functionality of the spaces as communal area, where its create an environment where people are welcomed, valued, without leaving anyone behind.

“One for all” that suites the spaces as they are relating to each other where everyone are welcome to celebrate and experiences all the spatial scenarios. It is a flexible space that adapting to visitor’s needs.

There are about 3 programmes created, where there is a playground for all that aim to acknowledge the value of experience and play. There was also seating area to highlight on tranquility of the site. Softness was inserted into the site to balance the environment and to keep the structure breathing. There is also a multipurpose stages area, where it can be an exhibition depends on the event occurred, together with a display portal for business kiosk purposes.

Embodying a vision of inclusivity and adaptability, this portable architectural design seamlessly integrates a spectrum of engaging elements. From inviting hammocks that provide spaces for restful contemplation to thoughtfully designed seating areas adorned with fabric, our creation fosters a sense of community and comfort.

The inclusivity extends to a dynamic playground accessible to all, promoting universal enjoyment. Multi-purpose stages offer a canvas for diverse activities, ensuring the space adapts to the evolving needs of its users. Anchored by flexibility in site placement, the design seeks to harmonize with various environments. Ultimately, this portable architecture aspires to be a tranquil haven, providing a sanctuary where inclusivity, adaptability, and serene engagement coalesce.

Year : 2023 Project name : Laskar Sahmura Type : Orphanage (1st semester Year 3-Design studio 5) Location : Miri, Sarawak Area : 25,386 sqm (6.27 acres) The program prioritizes the lasting benefits for orphans who actively contribute to shaping their own future, nourish their own team of Laskar Sahmura, a gem of the next generations. According to Maslow Hierarchy of Need, complement to the existing norm of an orphan, most of the childs need more care and guidance to help them grows. #OrphanUpSkill is one of the initiative proposing a vocational training integrating with the current post pandemic issues, by implementing nature with health is one of the significant ways to boosts immunity (Qingli, 2013).

Embracing the stigma of mental health and responding to the orphans’ psychological issues, the concept is to regenerate a new breath for the orphans, which is through nature that nurture a better future. While prioritising education, the site is shifting the normal orphanage to become and edu-tainment which helps them through social development, physical development and emotional development. Flexibilility of the site and minimal style gives a new vitaility to the environment including the orphans.

Existing nature at the site enhance the view and become a buffer for noise cancelling including air filtration and purification.

Hence, utilizing the wind direction by creating and open balcony with a substantial fenestration tgether with units located at the south side for outdoor activities to enjoy sunset view.

In circulation context, vehicular access designated to minimize encounters between vehicle and pedestrians considering safety for the orphans together with consideration of Covid-19.

Quarters Through a meticulous selection of materials, a sophisticated color palette, and thoughtful spatial arrangements, this quarters designated for the employees embodies a contemporary sanctuary that not only meets the practical needs of its inhabitants but also elevates their daily living. The interplay of natural light, strategically positioned elements, and innovative design solutions converges to establish an atmosphere of refined elegance and timeless comfort.

By fostering a sense of balance between the architectural elements and the human experience, this design strives to be more than a physical space,it aims to be a curated environment that enriches lives, inviting residents to embrace a l ifestyle of tranquility.

Dining Hall This dining hall concept epitomizes a harmonious convergence of spatial ingenuity, natural connectivity, and aesthetic grace. The introduction of a mezzanine floor enriches the spatial narrative, creating a multi-dimensional experience that caters to diverse social interactions.

The expansive fenestration envelops the interior with an abundance of natural light, seamlessly integrating the surrounding landscape into the dining ambiance. The thoughtfully designed courtyard serves as a focal point, not only as a visual centerpiece but as an elemental source of serenity, inviting the outdoors in.

Hostel Central to the design are the study pods, individualized spaces that cater to focused academic pursuits. These pods are strategically distributed throughout the hostel, offering panoramic views of the surrounding greenery. Each pod is equipped with timber louvres that can be adjusted to control both natural light and ventilation, creating a personalized and adaptable study environment.
