Faculty of Psychology The Faculty of Psychology in Warsaw is the oldest and largest SWPS faculty, offering courses to more than 4,000 students. The curriculum is consistently developed and expanded to include unique specialities in response to the needs of the changing world. The curriculum is tailored to current European standards of teaching psychology and complies with the requirements of the European Certificate in Psychology (EuroPsy), which provides qualification standards for psychologists and grants access to the profession in many European countries. The faculty’s lecturers are distinguished researchers who are passionate about their profession and willing to share their knowledge and experience with students. The faculty’s lecturers include experts recognised in Poland and abroad, including Professor Andrzej Falkowski, Professor Grzegorz Sędek, Professor Paweł Boski, Professor Krystyna Skarżyńska and Professor Jerzy Trzebiński.

Majors tailored to the job market Students tailor their education to their individual interests and professional plans. The modern curriculum makes it possible for them to discover the opportunities offered to them by psychology in various situations, at work and in real life. The faculty trains future psychologists as well as students planning a career in the media, market research, HR management, marketing and advertising, PR, education, healthcare or IT research and design i.e. in industries where

psychological knowledge and competence are conducive to success.

Top psychology faculties in the country In 2012 and 2013, SWPS was ranked third by “Perspektywy” magazine in the category of universities with psychology faculties. Together with Poland’s two largest universities, SWPS was top of the list of all universities and colleges in the country, public and private alike. The high level of psychology studies at SWPS has been confirmed by an audit conducted by the Polish Accreditation Committee in 2010: the studies offered by the Faculty of Psychology were rated very highly.

Research development The Faculty of Psychology is a research centre providing opportunities to take part in research programmes. In 2012 the faculty carried out 55 projects of a total value amounting to approximately PLN 2.5 million. Students take part in research experiments and benefit from grant programmes conducted by their lecturers. Students can also carry out research projects and present their results at the annual Student Festival of Science. To provide the best possible research conditions, SWPS has established an Experimental Research Laboratory and a Centre for Psychological Survey Techniques.

Diamond Grant SWPS appreciates the efforts and passions of its students. The university financed the fifth year of my studies with a “Diamond Grant”, providing PLN 176,550 for me to conduct my own research.
