SWPS was founded in 1996 by three eminent professors of the Institute of Psychology at the
Polish Academy of Sciences: Andrzej Eliasz, Zbigniew Pietrasiński and Janusz Reykowski. Since its establishment, SWPS has become one of the most important and highly regarded psychology
centres in terms of research and learning. It offers interdisciplinary degree and non-degree programmes in humanities in Warsaw, Wrocław, Sopot, Katowice and Poznań. SWPS has a tradition
of organising regular scientific, popular and cultural events. The school has had the pleasure of
hosting many renowned scientists, famous artists and media personalities. As a socially responsible institution, SWPS supports the development of
art and culture with its regular ‘High Voltage Culture’ events.
