SUMMER ART-VENTURES FOR KIDS NEW Amazing Faces and Places Art-ventures Ages 5-12 Oh, the places we’ll go! Art explorers travel to some pretty weird places while creating some wicked cool art forms dating back to when art began. Discover weird gargoyle faces and visit the amazing castles of Scotland. Experience cave painting and fossil making. Make worry dolls and totem poles. Learn about Oaxacan alebrijes while designing T-shirts. Sculpt and paint colorful Mexican pots, make bark paintings and create Haitian sequined banners. This is our most creative and original art-venture week!

SUMMER ART-VENTURES FOR KIDS NEW Splish Splash Art Blast Ages 5-12 This inspiring week of art-ventures sparks creativity, engagement, exploration and individual expression. Learn about the fascinating underwater world of seahorses, sea turtles and other wonderful creatures while exploring original art forms and techniques. Design beach hats, sunglasses, and T-shirts. Create ocean slime and discover the art of mosaics while creating seashell boxes. Sculpt shimmery coral and goofy clay octopuses. Paint ceramic fish banks, and design ocean creature stuffed animals. Experience painting, printmaking, stained glass, ceramics, collage, mosaics, fabric art and working with clay.

NEW Preschool Pre-Summer Four Day

Hooray! Ages 3-5 Before your older siblings are out of school, come have some pre-summer fun. We will do some messy, wacky art projects, cook some delicious snacks, do some awesome science activities, read some wonderful stories, sing, dance, play inside and out (including some water play), and eat snack and lunch together. Please bring a nut-free snack and lunch each day. Each day will have a theme: the ocean, dinosaurs, volcanoes, planting and flowers.

Learn how to introduce new foods in a fun and exciting way, from a Registered Dietitian. Each week will focus on a new concept around food and picky eating, and making a tasty snack together. Get ready to get messy and play with some food. All recipes will be nut free but may contain dairy.

Grades 2-4 Become a Food Explorer with Registered Dietitian, Katie Shepherd, and learn all about nutritious and delicious food! We’ll explore the five food groups through taste tests, games, and make brand new recipes. In this tasty camp, you’ll also learn about the importance of eating locally, foods from different cultures, food marketing and added sugars. Be prepared to taste new foods, learn new skills and new recipes. All recipes will be nut free, snack and lunch included daily.

NEW CT Performing Arts Summer Theater camp Presents Once Upon A Mattress Jr.

Ages 8-18 The Connecticut Performing Arts Summer Theater Camp presents “Once Upon a Mattress, Jr”. This award winning musical is a humorous spin on the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” If you thought you knew the story, you may be in for a walloping surprise! Carried on a wave of beguiling songs and hilarious twists and turns, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are, you’ll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again! Youth will participate in a 3 week camp of acting, singing, and dancing that concludes with 2 public performances at the Timothy Edwards Auditorium.. Full day and half day options available (half day available for ensemble only). Cost includes a camp shirt. Students must be registered to be eligible to audition.
