ELBA ISLAND | ITALY THE ISLAND OF ELBA - THE NATIONAL PARK OF TUSCANY ARCHIPELAGO The island offers a marvellous variety of scenery, from small hidden coves to long sandy beaches; each corner of Elba holds its own special surprise for visitors. The island is washed by crystal clear water in every shade of blue - a paradise for divers and snorkellers. It’s wooded hills make it ideal for hikers, it’s panoramic roads so popular with mountain bikers. Those in search of culture will find it’s ancient churches and museums a pleasant alternative to seaside activities. The Island of Elba is the third largest Italian island after Sicily and Sardinia and is the largest in the Tuscan Archipelago. lba has a coastline of 147 km: its main mountain (Monte Capanne) is 1019 metres high, accessed via pathways or by a panoramic cable car. Measuring 224 square kms, the island is situated 10 kms from the mainland with an excellent ferry boat service. The climate is always mild with a middle annual temperature of ca. 16°; the medium in the winter is about 10° degrees, 14° in spring, 23° degrees in summer and 17° degree in autumn. A tiny airport services the island, permitting only small planes to land from a few privileged european cities. Most visitors arrive by car, others by train travelling to Piombino Marittima station which is very close to the ferry departures.

COSTA DE LA LUZ | SPAIN Coast of light You can take a trip every week and years later still not have seen everything. You will always discover something new. Andalusia and its capitol Seville is one of the most beautiful regions in Spain. Striking, exciting. The period of Moorish rule can still be seen everywhere in the architecture. The flamenco dance also originated in this region. Driving around the Costa de la Luz you will notice that there is practically no industry. The air and the sea are clean.
Gastronomy The Andalusian cuisine Moorish culinary traditions can still be tasted in the characteristic soups, meet and sweets. The most well known dishes are gazpacho (a cold soup), fried fish and sweets made with honey, almond and pine nuts. With the sea so close, there is of course a great deal of very fresh fish on the menu. Fishermen deliver daily to local gourmet restaurants. In the immediate vicinity there are also various restaurants serving not only fish but also paella and of course, tapas. Many European people are already familiar with the Spanish cuisine, but the way it is done in Andalusia is of another calibre altogether. For good reason, Spanish cuisine is gaining in popularity.
