Pioneer projects for a sustainable future SWISS hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, ihre CO²-Emissionen bis zum Jahr 2030 gegenüber 2019 um 50 Prozent zu reduzieren und im Jahr 2050 auf netto null zu senken.
SWISS has set itself the goals of halving its carbon dioxide emissions from their 2019 level by 2030 and making itself entirely carbon-neutral by 2050.
Flottenerneuerung: SWISS hat mittlerweile insgesamt 30 Flugzeuge vom Typ Airbus A220 im Einsatz. Fleet renewal: SWISS now has 30 Airbus A220 aircraft in service.
SWISS verfolgt im Hinblick auf ihre Klimaziele eine 4-Säulen-Strategie, die technologische, operative und infrastrukturelle Massnahmen sowie ergänzende ökonomische Instrumente umfasst. Der wichtigste Hebel zur Reduktion der CO²-Emissionen sind aktuell Investitionen in moderne und treibstoffeffiziente Flugzeuge und Triebwerkstechnologien. Dank Milliardeninvestitionen betreibt SWISS eine der modernsten und damit CO²-ärmsten Flotten. So hat SWISS zwischen 2002 und 2019 ihren spezifischen Treibstoffverbrauch um 27 Prozent gesenkt. Gleichzeitig implementiert SWISS effizientere Konzepte im Flugbetrieb, treibt die Digitalisierung voran und investiert in innovative Technologien, um die CO²-Reduktion weiter voranzutreiben. SWISS is pursuing a four-pillar strategy – of technological, operational and infrastructural actions together with complementary economic tools – to achieve its climate objectives. The most effect ive lever at present for reducing carbon dioxide emissions is investing in modern and fuelefficient aircraft and engine technologies. Thanks to billions of investments, SWISS today operates one of the most advanced aircraft fleets, and thus one of the most eco-friendly in carbon emission terms. Between 2002 and 2019, the airline reduced its specific fuel consumption by no less than 27 per cent. Parallel to this, SWISS has been enhancing the efficiency of its flight operations, driving digitalisation and investing in innovative technologies, all to further lower its CO² emissions. We present four such pioneering projects.
