Carleton Golf & Yacht Club Team Wins 2024 PGA of Ottawa Pro-Lady
August 13, 2024 - Ottawa, Ontario
The PGA of Ottawa played its Pro-Lady Championship, presented by Swing Control on the Flagstick.com PGA Ottawa Tour, at the Loch March Golf & Country Club on Monday, August 12th.
PGA of Ottawa Golf Professionals with their club teams of three amateur lady golfers participated in a shotgun start with the format being a scramble competition.
Fergus Barron, Assistant Professional at the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club located in the Manotick sector of Ottawa, Ontario, captained his team of Laura Knowles, Tracy McNarin and Emma Stodel to a 1st place finish in the PGA of Ottawa Pro-Lady Championship.

The Carleton Team finished with a score of 13 under par 59 on the par-72 Loch March course narrowly edging out by one stroke at 12 under par 60 the Rivermead Team of Mathieu Perron, Josee Lacasse, Julia Pelletier and Lise Perrier and also the Eagle Creek Team of Jake Brison, Ammie Fu, Renee Johnston and Debbie Sheridan. Two-time defending champion Sarah Landry from the Rivermead Golf Club and her team of Laura MacHutchon, Kerry McVey and Kristin Stauffer finished in 4th place with their score of eleven under par 61.
“It’s always a Great Day at Loch March”, is the Carp, Ontario Club’s mantra and it certainly was for the participants in the 2024 PGA of Canada Ottawa Zone Pro-Lady Scramble on Monday August 12th. The Head Professional at Loch March is Danielle Nadon and she, along with her team ensured that all participants in this year's Pro-Lady were treated to a great experience from arrival to departure. Notable was the course conditioning especially after the course being closed for three days because of the level of rain the previous week.
The Pro-Lady has Swing Control as their presenting sponsor and Sue Klopp along with Joshua Mark from Swing Control were on hand to display a wide assortment of their golf and leisure attire for men and women. The inspiration for Swing Control came from a love of golf and fashion. Their skilled designers have spent years turning "active wear" into "anytime" wear.
Both Sue and Josh were appreciative that they are able to showcase Swing Control attire to the PGA of Ottawa Golf Professionals present at the Pro-Lady Championship and to be present to support the PGA of Ottawa and the golf clubs who support them.
Gavin Corbeil from ACUSHNET GOLF provided a sleeve of golf balls for all of the amateur players.
The Carleton Golf & Yacht Club Team of Fergus Barron, Tracy McNarin, Emma Stodel & Laura Knowles
Twenty PGA of Canada Ottawa Zone golf professionals with club teams of three ladies participated in the Pro-Lady. Their full afternoon and evening at Loch March included lunch, golf and cocktails on the patio, along with a fashion show of Swing Control attire by models Rachel Corcoran, Nancy Grant-Scott and Cara Shields, followed by the generous buffet set in the upper level of the clubhouse.
The standard close-to-the-hole and long drive prizes were awarded for amateurs and professionals. Archie's / Cedarhill’s Stefani Lemaire and Carleton’s Laura Knowles won close-to-the-hole prizes and Celine Simard from Buckingham won the long drive contest on the amateur side. On the professional side, Coleman Orenstein from Renfrew and Denis Girard from GreyHawk won close-to-thehole prizes and Rivermead’s Sarah Landry took home the long drive award.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the PGA of Ottawa Pro-Lady Event on the Flagstick.com PGA Ottawa Tour at Loch March.
