Our team designed a space that emphasizes the energy, growth, and innovation of the Sporting Kansas City soccer team through imbuing their iconic argyle pattern. The experience will uphold the brands values with an emphasis on community and display the teams evolution throughout their history. The Victory Project and Green Project will be highlighted through branding expansion and immersive experiences throughout our design.

SPORTING KANSAS CITY
A R G Y L E
Sporting Kansas City (SKC) is an innovative brand within MLS and they wanted to show that through the creation of an iconic kit design. Argyle had not been used in soccer before, so they took a leap of faith with imbuing it throughout their branding after the kit was well received.
B R A N D V A L U E S
There is a set of values the brand upholds when executing anything. These are creating a connection with the community, innovation, winning on the field, and a great fan experience. We used these as a base for our design ideas to stem from.
V I C T O R Y P R O J E C T
The Victory Project is a foundation created by SKC to help children with cancer, diseases, or the many challenges life brings. The invite one child or person for every home game and show support to them in a variety of ways, one being they get to sit in a special orange seat dedicated to the Victory Project.
C R E A T I N G E X P E R I E N C E S
One of SKC’s most important values is the Fan Experience. Within their complex, they want to create “magic moments” for anyone who enters the addition to their stadium.
SITE AND EXTERIOR
We used elements of the argyle pattern to influence the building shape, facade, and site refresh to instill the idea of innovation in the way Sporting KC knows best.

Collaboration throughout the project was heavily present and included a variety of disciplines. The Hall of Fame showed off the collaboration which includes the Player Hall. Our graphic designer lead the design of an information and video wall to have displayed in the designated area designed for that purpose which was lead by the interior designers.

SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY | GROUP PROJECT
Our concept focuses on the wellness of the users. We accomplish this by using wellness strategies: design in variety, patterns of movement, and natural connection. These are achieved through the use of rhythm of recurring design elements directing the user to the main focal point. Movement throughout the space is directed by the means of color, lighting and a radial circulation. Our CCRC is centered around wellness and encouraging elderly people to be engaged and capable for as long as possible.

Wellness strategies that are important to use when designing senior living communities. Main ones we thought were inspiring were natural connection, patterns of movement, and design in variety.

Emphasis on outdoor areas and good ventilation is especially important because of the ongoing pandemic. Operable windows, outdoor gardens, and individual unit patios are a few of the simple ways of increasing the air quality.

EXPERIENCE
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY | AMERICORP MEMBER
Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization whose goal is to help everyone have a decent and affordable place to live. They work towards their goals with the help of volunteers to build the homes that partner families will buy. I got the opportunity to be an Americorp Member and work with this organization to build homes around Des Moines for a summer. I learned about construction, lead volunteers in construction tasks, and met so many amazing people.
