How to Buy the Right Hammer Unions in Dubai Hammer unions are high-pressure flow line connectors that consist of two joints by a threaded nut. They are designed with a coupler with a male thread and inner core (female half), a ball-shaped fitting (male half), and a female thread nut that helps tighten the ball-shaped fitting with the inner core of the coupler.

What to Know When Buying Hammer Unions ●

Hammer unions have a very robust construction and are manufactured using only certified materials with full traceability. The color-coding system on hammer unions indicates their specific configurations and pressure ratings.

● They can operate well at working pressure at ambient temperature ranges from 35 bar (1000 PSI) to 1378 bar (15000 PSI). Approved by DNV, they are designed for hydrogen sulfide applications and are resistant to hydrogen embrittlement.

● Hammer unions also have Fig# stamped on them so that workers can easily identify if it is the right union for their pipe connection or not.

● The most important thing to know about hammer unions is that you must not use union components with different figure series even if they have the same nominal pipe size. For instance, Hammer Union Fig. 1502 and Hammer Union Fig. 602 may appear to mate easily but, in reality, they have different threads and that can lead to a coupling blow-out causing severe injury, property damage, or significant loss of the product being conveyed through a pipeline. Thus, you must never interchange different Figure Series, no matter if they have the same nominal pipe size.
