One way to make a

negative contraction is to put together the

pronoun and be (am, is, are). Then put not behind be (am, is, are).

Put together the pronoun and be (am, is, are).

Put not behind be

(am, is, are).

She’s = She’s not

She is = Sheis Take out the first letter of be (am, is, are).

Not makes the sentence negative.

She’s not young.

Sheis = Shes Put in an apostrophe.

Shes = She’s

I’m not young.

You’re not young.

He’s not young.

She’s not young.

It’s not young.

We’re not young.

They’re not young.

She’s not young.

Do this with every pronoun except I .

Take out the o in not. isnot = isnt
