LETTER FROM THE COO F
or our first quarter of 2023, we’ve seen significant project progress across all departments, as many of the San Antonio bond projects get underway. We also commemorated the contributions that engineers and surveyors have made to improving communities across our nation and the world.
From February 20th-24th, we recognized the Engineering department with Engineers’ Week. Our engineering staff have been crucial to the success of our firm. Be it through their contributions on marketing proposals which result in wins or through their delivery of innovative design solutions for our clients.
From March 20th-24th, we celebrated our Surveying department with Surveyors’ Week. Surveying has been a cornerstone of our firm since its conception 40+ years ago, with some of our survey staff contributing multiple decades to working with PCI. Their contributions have been crucial to the success of the company.
Lastly, in March we commemorated the history and social impacts of women through Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. While women make up only 10% of the AEC industry, they make up 25% of our PCI staff across all departments. We recognize that women bring a unique leadership and expertise to our firm and are committed to giving women equal opportunity!
We truly are “improving communities TOGETHER, one project at a time.” One of those community improvements includes our very own little community, Our Home Office. After almost eighteen years at Summit Tower, PCI will be relocating to a new home. This summer, our San Antonio office will move to Corporate Square, which is located just on the other side of Loop 410. This relocation will result in a newer office setting with a more modern open space, new furniture, higher ceilings, and lots of windows! Even better, an on-site café and working bathrooms, elevators, and A/C! More details can be found on page 8 and will be forthcoming as we get closer to our moving date. In the meantime, as we enter the spring and summer season, with Fiesta and other holidays around the corner, we actively encourage you all to take the time to spend with family and to travel safe. Thank you for all you do, PCI family!
Adalberto “Beto” Camarillo, Jr. COO

Special thanks
By Claudia Gonzalez-Liendo, PE Senior Project Engineer
I was not sure what to expect at PCI. It’s been a little over ten months since I walked through PCI’s office doors as a PCI employee and there are no regrets. Camaraderie is a word I can use to describe the office environment because folks show up at the office (yeah!!!). I love being able to walk up to a someone’s desk, pull up a chair, and have one-toone design discussions; it’s a satisfying feeling to give someone guidance on a
design question and seeing that designers take the time to read suggested design material so that they learn the “what”, “where” and “why”; great feeling when questions get asked and everyone voices their opinion (in-person or virtual TEAMS meeting), some very good designs and solutions evolve in this manner; impressed when no one questions or objects to an assigned task (even when they’ve never done what is being asked of them, the tasks gets done, typically with support from others); I love it when
we work hours and hours to meet a deadline – well, nobody really loves working so many hours and we all have found ourselves complaining occasionally, but I love the fact that the task gets completed.
I love being able to walk up to someone’s desk, pull up a chair, and have one-to-one design discussions.

Please be aware that the company has seen an increase in phishing attempts over the last six months.
When checking an email for a phishing attempt, be sure to check for broken links, prompts to click on an HTML link, and determine whether this is an email that you’d expect to receive at work. If you think it is a phishing email, avoid downloading any attachments and block sender to stop future phishing attempts from that domain.
Now that employees are back in office, use of the conference rooms will occur more often. To avoid double booking, all employees at PCI who plan to use the front Conference Room (#1) or the back Conference Room (#2) need to schedule their time in the respective Outlook Calendar. If users do not see the conference room calendars in their list of Shared Calendars, select [Add Calendar], select [From Room List], use the Shift key to select both calendars from the pop up window, click on [Rooms] at the bottom and then select [Ok].
If users have questions, email: it_dept@pozcam.com
Tired of the usual Teams ringtone when you get a call? Switch it up by visiting your Teams Settings: go down to [Calls] and adjust ring tone for the incoming calls. Hype it up by selecting “Remix” to get you in the zone!!

We’re moving!
PCI will be relocating its San Antonio Headquarters to the Corporate Square business complex across from Loop 410, located at 4801 Northwest Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78229. Our tentative moving date is the 1st week of July. Below are a few digital renderings; office is currently under construction.
Location Features Include:
Our work spaces will no longer be separated from each other as they are now, but instead will be one open, cohesive space that includes more windows for nature light, higher ceilings, and fewer walls.
