You

are making a difference!

Thank You

for investing in your theatre’s future Since January 2013, you, our patrons, have been investing in the future of the theatre with a contribution of 50p per ticket. The funds have already made a difference and the current total is over £88,000 in the Restoration Fund. Improvements to date include the installation of energy efficient hand dryers in all the toilets, new wooden benches and tables in the Footlights garden and by the end of March 2014, the refurbishment of the auditorium seating will be complete. The next major planned project is the painting of internal Front of House areas. For further details about how the money will be spent, please keep an eye on our website www.swanseagrand.co.uk and Front of House boards. If you would like to make an additional donation, please send a cheque to: Restoration Fund, Swansea Grand Theatre, Singleton St, Swansea, SA1 3QJ. Cheques made payable to Swansea Grand Theatre.

Dedication Plaques There has been an important change to the purchase of dedication plaques on the auditorium seating. The plaques will remain on the seats for a total of twentyfive years, instead of ten years. The life span of previously purchased plaques will automatically be extended. The cost of a seat dedication is £250. Please see our website for full details. We’d like to thank you in advance for your continued support helping us raise these essential funds.

THE SEARCHERS

JON RICHARDSON

JOHN MCNALLY, FRANK ALLEN, SPENCER JAMES & SCOTT OTTAWAY

NIDIOT British Comedy Award 2013 Nominee, Jon Richardson, is checking his tyre pressures, hoovering his floor mats and putting an emergency packed lunch in the boot of his car, ready to hit the road again with a brand new tour, Nidiot. The perennial singleton and misanthrope is determined to become a more easygoing person for the sake of his friends and his future health.

The Searchers’ remarkable career continues. With classic hits, such as Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away, Sugar and Spice and When You Walk in the Room, they have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry. There is no doubt that the decade that gave us The Beatles, as well as The Searchers, and many others, was very special and will go down in history as being the most imaginative period of music creativity and expression.

Best known as team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, recent TV credits include: Have I Got News for You (BBC One), Live at the Apollo (BBC One) and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two). “Sublimely brilliant, stunning...” Time Out

SHOWADDYWADDY

FUNNY BUSINESS

From humble beginnings in Leicester in the 1970s, Showaddywaddy has stood the test of time, recently celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Jimmy’s been described as ‘the hardest working man in comedy’. Which, let’s face facts, is not that impressive. It’s like being the ‘Tallest Dwarf’ or the ‘Healthiest Glaswegian’. Really not that big a deal. Funny Business is Jimmy’s brand new stand-up show. Come for the witty and incisive musings on the human condition; stay for the k*** gags.

Their live show is dynamic and uplifting, featuring all of their biggest hits, many of which reached number one in the pop charts of Europe: Under the Moon of Love, Three Steps to Heaven, Hey Rock & Roll, When, Blue Moon, Pretty Little Angel Eyes and many, many more. THE BUGLE BOY A MUSICAL

THE ELO EXPERIENCE

The Bugle Boy, the critically acclaimed hit musical by English awardwinning playwright, Den Stevenson, returns for one night only. It traces the life of legendary music icon Glenn Miller from leaving college to playing in various bands, including his own, as he searches tirelessly for over twenty years, with the constant support and love of his wife Helen, for a unique band sound. Later Miller joins the army, forms the subsequently famed A.E.F Band and flies to Europe to play to the Armed Forces; then goes missing in mysterious circumstances.

Formed over 7 years ago, The ELO Experience is the world's foremost tribute to this great band. A quintessential English country estate is thrown into chaos following the murder of eccentric inventor Sir Claud Amory, and the theft of his new earth shattering formula. Arriving at the Estate moments too late, one man immediately senses a potent brew of despair, treachery, and deception amid the estate's occupants. That man is Hercule Poirot. In the first play ever written by Agatha Christie we are introduced to a character who went on to become the most famous detective of all time and the only fictional character ever to receive a full-page obituary in the New York Times. Star casting to be announced. BLACK COFFEE © 1930 Agatha Christie Limited. All rights reserved. The AGATHA CHRISTIE word mark and signature and POIROT are registered trade marks of Agatha Christie Limited. All rights reserved.
