The St Vincent de Paul Society acknowledges that many members of the community prefer to contribute to the lives of the disadvantaged by giving their time. Volunteers are important to the Society and all ages can get involved by taking calls at the Emergency Relief Call Centre, becoming a Vinnies Youth volunteer, volunteering in the Vinnies Retail Centres or the Clothing and Furniture Depot, volunteering with cooking and other recreational activities for the Special Work - Vincentcare or getting involved with the work of the Refugee and Migrant Committee.

Become a Member The Society is always looking for new members to join our conferences that help offer hope, comfort and dignity to the lives of those who lack the resources to lead a healthy and full life. Conference members deliver the core work of the Society by assisting people in their homes through Home Visitation. Members provide assistance with food, material aid, budget advice, utility bills, advocacy issues and friendship and support.

The St Vincent de Paul Society of Western Australia has been responding to calls for assistance from people in need since 1865. The Society is one of the largest charities in the State and relies on the kindness and generosity of the community. Members of the community continue to support the Good Work of the Society through financial donations, the donation of pre-loved goods, corporate partnership, volunteering, membership and bequests.

Donate your Pre-Loved Goods

The Society’s services can continue to grow and meet the needs of the community through the generous support of the West Australian community. Donations can be made through the following ways:

Donations of pre-loved goods are accepted by the Society and are used to provide welfare support to people in need. Surplus items are sold in our Vinnies Retail Centres throughout Western Australia and provide revenue for the Society to continue its work in the community. Donations of good quality books, bric-a-brac, furniture, clothing and household items are most welcome.

Financial donations The St Vincent de Paul Society has three major fundraising Appeals throughout the year, including the Winter Appeal, Street Appeal and Christmas Appeal – all of which directly contribute to funding the Society’s work.

All donations are used by the St Vincent de Paul Society to assist people in need in the Western Australian community.

Bequests The Society is able to assist thousands of people in need through the generosity of those who have remembered the Society in their Wills.

The Society in Western Australia has established a group called the Tom Perrott Friends Forever Club that recognises and honours the generosity of those who have remembered the Society in their Will. Friends Forever Club Members are honoured during their lifetime in a dignified and respectful manner.

Helping Hands Program This program is a periodical commitment to ensure ongoing assistance to those in need. The Helping Hands Program allows donors to make a periodical donation and receive only one tax-deductible receipt each year.

Members are also kept informed of the Society’s Good Works through the bi-annual newsletter ‘The Spirit’.

Workplace Giving Workplace Giving is a discreet donation whereby companies set up a small proportion of employees’ salary to be credited to the Society per pay cycle. Workplace Giving for the St Vincent de Paul Society strengthens community links and boosts morale within the workplace, whilst contributing on a periodical basis to the work of the Society.

Become a Corporate Partner The St Vincent de Paul Society recognises the importance of developing and nurturing strong links with the corporate and philanthropic sectors to continue to help make positive changes to the lives of the people they help.

The Society seeks to engage all partners in long-term strategic and mutually beneficial relationships. Companies can support the St Vincent de Paul Society through Corporate Partnerships, Corporate Sponsorships and/or Philanthropic donations.
