About the program

Families Back on Track (FBOT) provides a safe, secure and caring environment for homeless single parents with children, and homeless families with children.

Consisting of 27 units of independent accommodation, including two ground floor disability units, the project’s aim is to facilitate the re-establishment of homeless parents with children into the community through support, education and one-on-one case management support.

FBOT provides short to medium term accommodation. Our tenants will be able to stay for as long as needed whilst receiving intensive support and case management.

Tenants are then offered ‘exit’ housing when ready with continued support in regular housing placements, thus ensuring the best possible chance for a permanent return to full independent living within the community.

Mission statement Facing the social concerns and consequences of homelessness, the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, through its housing program, in particular its Families Back on Track project, determines to stand by those whose circumstances disadvantage them for access to safe, secure and affordable accommodation.

We will advocate on their behalf, strive to provide them with adequate and appropriate support services and other housing options, and encourage them to become part of viable, creative communities where they are respected for who they are and not for what they have.

To this end, we dedicate our resources to the services of those in greatest housing need.

The facilities 27 independent units which house up to four individuals each and two ground floor disability units a Community Service Delivery Centre, where the Society’s intensive support programs will be provided on a individual needs basis safe, secure and supported living conditions, with activity and recreation precincts, including two playgrounds and BBQ areas one on-site caretaker’s unit.
