Life Above a Railway Tunnel David Porter presents Part II on Friday 18th October 2013, 7.30pm at The Old Meeting House, Ditchling. Clayton Tunnel North Portal is a truly unique building. Every day hundreds of trains hurtle under this Gothic folly whose imposing castellated towers protect the old tunnel keeper’s cottage. For most people this secluded building remains a mystery. What are its historical origins? What lies behind the commanding battlements? What is it like having trains running right beneath your living room? This presentation will answer all these questions and more, featuring new historical information that has come to light since this event was hosted by Ditchling History Project earlier in the year. The friendly, relaxed atmosphere of the Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show at Hurstpierpoint College, 2 and 3 November, 10am5pm, is just the place to find that special Christmas present. Designer makers of the Sussex Guild will exhibit a variety of crafts, including: ceramics, furniture, glass, creative textiles, jewellery, printmaking, woodturning and woodcarving.
