Mr Carl Hadwidge Carl was appointed as a Consultant in 1992 and has held a number of positions since that time, including Head Clinician Neurosciences Hurstwood Park, President of the British Skull Base Society and he is an Examiner and Board Member of Intercollegiate Fellowship in Neurosurgery. His specialities include skull base surgery and degenerative spine surgery.

Mr Giles Critchley Giles is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon at Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre. Having qualified at Cambridge University and St Thomas Hospital, London, Giles continued his training in Manchester and at Atkinson Morley’s Hospital, Wimbledon. He specialises in central nervous system tumour surgery and his interests include cervical and lumbar disc surgery, cerebral and spinal tumours as well as spinal stenosis.

Mr John Norris Having completed his postgraduate surgical training in Nottingham, London and Toronto, John has been a Consultant Neurosurgeon for 13 years and is currently the Principal Lead Consultant in Neurosciences within the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. His professional interests include cerebral aneurysms and head injury, along with cervical, thoracic and lumbar surgery.

Mr Sorin Bucur A Consultant Neurosurgeon at Hurstwood Park, Sorin has recently been granted practise privileges at the Nuffield Health Haywards Heath Hospital. After training and working in the UK, Sorin became an International Fellow in skull base surgery and microneurosurgery at the George Washington University, Washington DC. Sorin has a wide range of experience in cranial and spinal surgery and a particular interest in degenerative spinal diseases, brain and spinal tumours and vascular malformations.

Dr Stephen Ward Stephen qualified in anaesthetics in 1991 and is a Consultant in Pain Medicine for Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. Along with pain management, his interests include neuropathic pain, cancer pain, lower back and neck pain and interventional pain therapy.
