HELLO

My name is Susan Hazel Rich, and I’m the illustrator and owner behind Hazelmade. In 2014, I stepped away from my role as a logo and brand designer to launch my first Hazelmade collection. My motivation for starting my own company was simple: I was seeking a place to grow creatively while crafting products that connect us to the ones we love.

In the years since, my stack of old notebooks, sketchbooks, and drawings has grown, and so has Hazelmade. The handful of greeting cards that marked the start of this venture has expanded to a full line of paper and home goods. In 2014, the first Hazelmade catalog introduced tea towels, calendars, and notepads. Year after year, I continued to add new products and designs to my existing line.

There’s so much that’s new with my spring / summer 2023 collection. I’m excited to introduce grocery, market, and vintage food themes all with a heavy focus on retro styling and typography. You’ll also find several new floral collections.

I’m especially excited to introduce four new tea towel designs to accompany old favorites. As

my best-selling product category, and one of my favorite designs to create, I’m excited to expand the designs for my signature Midwest-Made textile.

With each product I include, I seek exceptional quality in design as well as in the paper, fabrics, and other materials I use to craft these pieces. I’m proud to say every product I offer is made in the USA with many in the Midwest. Whenever possible I source environmentally friendly papers and packaging from the U.S. and use resource-conscious production methods.

One thing remains central to my idea of Hazelmade: I want to love the products I create and use them in my daily life. I’ve discovered along the way that being part of your homes and adventures is an incredible feeling as well.

THE SARDINES COLLECTION

While creating the Italian Market Collection, I fell in love with these sardines and just had to make a suite of this design with a pop of color borrowed straight from the ‘50s era pop-art style. Hazelmade is a collection of illustrated paper and home goods by me, Susan Hazel Rich. The collection launched in 2014 and has since grown to be in 450+ stores worldwide. The products I create are functional pieces of art with bold colors, fresh florals, and a modern twist on vintage themes.

I’m proud to say every product I offer is made in the USA with many made in the Midwest.

PROCESS

Each design is thoughtfully hand-drawn by me, Susan Hazel Rich. My products are all carefully inspected and packaged by hand in my studio in Kent, Ohio.

QUALITY

Each new addition to my line is tested for both durability and usability. The details matter deeply to me; from design to packaging to final presentation, I hope the experience of Hazelmade is one of elevated design and exceptional quality.

PARTNERSHIPS

Whenever possible, I partner with local, family-owned businesses for printing and production support.

ENVIRONMENT

The majority of the papers I use are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified or are recycled, low-impact papers. The cottons I use are sustainably processed and sewn with low-waste construction methods. My packaging is all minimal, plastic-free and earth friendly whenever possible.

You will receive an invoice to confirm your order, shipping address, and shipping fees. Your invoice must be paid in full before I ship your order. Please inquire for alternate payment terms. Payment can be made by credit card or check.

PACKAGING + DISPLAY

The products must be displayed and sold in their original packaging. Sets may not be broken up or sold individually. Failure to comply with this policy will result in account termination.

SHIPPING

Once your payment has been received, your order will ship within 10 business days—if not sooner. Please contact me for expedited shipping and time-sensitive orders prior to placing your order. All orders ship via USPS Priority Mail or UPS, unless otherwise requested. Hazelmade is not responsible for any carrier delays. Tracking details will be sent to the email address you provided.

I do not offer exclusivity or zip code protection at this time. Please reach out prior to placing your order for a comprehensive review of your zip code and to discuss your unique neighborhood.

ONLINE SALES

Please email for approval for online sales (exclusively or in addition to your brick-and-mortar store). All approved online sales must give full credit to Hazelmade within the product name and / or descriptions. Prior approval is required for use of Hazelmade images and / or text. Third-party sales are not permitted (eBay, Amazon, Etsy, etc.). Failure to comply with this policy will result in account termination.

REFUNDS

I want you to be 100% satisfied with your order. If you have any concerns with your shipment, please contact me within 2 days of receiving your order so it can be corrected. Returns or exchanges must be postmarked within 5 days of reporting. All merchandise must be returned unopened, unused, and in its original packaging. Damage due to shipment must be reported within 2 business days of receipt.
