ADVERTISEMENT Bicchhoo ka Khel, another revenge drama, filled with quirky humour is now streaming on Alt Balaji and Zee 5. Based in Benaras, Bicchoo ka Khel starring Divyendu Sharma (Munna Bhaiya from Mirzapur) though relies on one liner plot, is fun and entertaining to watch because of tight screenplay and catchy dialogues.

Plot Bicchoo ka Khel, as mentioned earlier, treads on a wafer thin plot. It starts with Akhil, during a play, shoots Lawyer Anil Chauhan (Satyajit Sharma) in an auditorium full of people.

ADVERTISEMENT The show then introduces Akhil Shrivastav (Divyendu) who is a writer, but along with his father Babu (Mukul Chadda), works in a sweets shop owned by Rajesh Sharma, where Babu is having an affair with the owner’s wife.

Akhil is in love with Rashmi (Anshul Chauhan) who is daughter of a high profile lawyer Anil Chauhan. Anil Chauhan, along with his politician/builder friend Munna Singh is pitching for Benaras redevelopment project to transform Benaras into Beijing.

As the fate turns, Babu is caught up in a mess, where he is arrested for murder of Munna Singh, and in jail Babu is killed. Akhil, devastated by his loss, decides to take revenge for his father’s death and as he progresses, he uncovers the bigger conspiracy behind it.

Along with him, there is Inspector Nikunj Tiwari (Zeeshan Qadri), who along with his deputy Pandey is investigating the case. They arrest Akhil for the murder of Anil Chauhan and then how Akhil gets clear of the law and finally who is behind all this is what the show caters to.

The writing of Bicchoo ka Khel is its highlight. The show though having a very routine plot has enough masala toh hold the viewer’s attention. The dialogues are good and the local dialect along with some punchlines coming every now and then ensure that a chuckle is always there.

Special mention to the editing, as the show is fast paced with almost 20 minute per episode. A lesser runtime per episode keeps proceedings crisp and it never drags.

Performances from almost every actor are very good and given the fact that there are no big names in the cast, that is something commendable.

Also, the background music of the series is very good and adds a good mood to the proceedings.

The Misses The Plot. Even though the writer has tried to put in twists and turns in the screenplay, the basic plot is very predictable and repetitive, seen multiple times.

The supporting actors could have performed better, given the superlative performance

by Divyendu and Zeeshan, the supporting cast feels a bit underperforming.

Performances Divyendu just continues his terrific performance from where he left in Mirzapur. His dialogue delivery is a treat to watch. He is the best performer of the series. In the age of 6 pack actors, Divyendu has now created a niche for himself.

Another impressive performance has come from Zeeshan Qadri as Inspector Tiwari. He has been simply superb in his portrayal of a strict but sarcastic honest officer, who is tired of his wife calling him in between his investigations.

Anshul Chauhan is very good as Akhil’s love interest Rashmi, and so is Mukul Chadha as Akhil’s father.

Rest all actors give decent performances, lend the expected support and are average.

FFC Take Bicchoo Ka Khel though doesn’t have novelty in plot, has a lot of entertainment and fun in the way the story is narrated. It is a very tight paced, entertaining show with some very good performances from its lead actors.

Given its short runtime, entertaining screenplay and excellent dialogues, the show is well worth your time.
