Busting the Myth if Canned Meat is Healthy

Busting the Myth if Canned Meat is Healthy There are canned foods and there are home-cooked foods. Home-cooked food is almost always healthier for you because it's natural and contains few or no preservatives. Some canned food is also healthy in some cases, but most canned foods contain high amounts of sodium, which can be bad for your heart. If you can't make something at home that day, the best option would be to just buy a fresh item from the store instead of eating out because restaurants need to rely too much on using preservatives with their food to keep it edible.

What is canned meat? Canned meat is a processed, dried form of the original raw product. The only real difference between canned and fresh meat is that canned pork meat has been cooked, usually boiled or steamed, to kill any dangerous bacteria. This can be harmful to your health if the meat has not been properly cooked and it may contain as much as 60% more sodium than fresh meat of comparable size.
