ABOUT THE FISHER HOUSE FOUNDATION
The Fisher House program is a unique and private-public partnership that supports America’s military families in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardship of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans affairs. Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates “comfort homes” which are built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time – during the hospitalization for a combat illness, disease, or injury. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the Fisher House program serves more than 19,000 families. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is no fee to stay in a Fisher House. Since 1990, the foundation has saved military, veterans and their families an estimated $200 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation. WELCOME TO THE SUPPORT OUR HEROES GALA! Welcome to the 9th Annual Support Our Heroes Gala! On behalf of the Chesapeake Support Our Heroes Nonprofit Organization (CSOH), I’d like to sincerely thank you for joining us this evening. In February, 2012, the CSOH proudly joined an already-established community of organizations that selected the Fisher House Foundation as a cause through which we could support American soldiers and their families over the past ten years. We are pleased to have achieved a 501(c)(3) status as a public charity by the IRS in August, 2013, allowing donations to CSOH to be considered tax deductible. Our mission is simple: demonstrate our commitment and provide care to our wounded service members and their families by supporting the Fisher House Foundation. The entire organizational community has raised more than $1.5 million over the past eight years. Tonight’s gala is our largest annual fundraiser and we hope that you’ll help us to make it our most successful event yet! Please speak to our committee members, participate in tonight’s traditional and silent auctions, and consider donating your time, talent or treasure. Take a look at how you can personally make a difference and consider becoming a “heart corps” volunteer. Any of our committee members will be happy to mentor and assist you in your fundraising efforts for the Fisher House Foundation. There are so many untapped ways to assist -- whether it be a 5K run, a girl or boy scout project, or a concert in the park.You can be an important part of our grassroots activities to help our patriotic, selfless American heroes who now need assistance. Some of this year’s fundraisers included the Eatontown Lions Club, the AAAA Lakewood Blueclaws Outing, and the West Point Society of NJ which cumulatively raised more than $40,000 for the Fisher House Foundation. Hooah! Thanks again to each and every one of you for joining us tonight and for supporting our nation’s wounded heroes and their families. I especially want to thank our corporate, military and government supporters as well as our very special volunteers. The effort they put into making this event a success is truly “from the heart.” So to them I extend our most heartfelt thanks.

This small table … … honors the many members of our armed forces – our heroes -- who answered the call of duty but were unable to return home. It is deliberately placed before our nation’s colors as a special place of honor.

Check-In Procedure 1. The evening begins at 6:00 pm. 2. Upon arrival, guests should go to the check-in table.Your pre-assigned bid number will be provided to you on a bid card stuffed in your program. This is your personal identification number for bidding on both the silent and live auctions. 3. PLEASE USE ONLY THE BID NUMBER ASSIGNED TO YOU.
Check-Out Procedure Silent Auction check-out begins at 9:30 pm. 1. At 9:30pm check the item bid sheet to see which items you have won 2. Proceed to the cashier tables or any volunteer wearing a red “Auction” sash, to review your invoice and pay for your items. 3. Once you’ve paid for your items, please give your paid receipt to one of the our volunteers who will be waiting just past the cashier table. Please do not retrieve your items without the assistance of a volunteer.

All sales are final. No exchanges, refunds, or cancellations. Payment may be made by cash,Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or check payable to The Fisher House Foundation. 3. All auction items must be removed from Waters Edge Events Center by 10:30 pm on the evening of the event, except for those items which are stored at off-site facilities. 4. All items in the Silent Auction and Art Gallery have bid sheets attached or nearby. Anyone wishing to bid must do so by clearly writing his/her name using the supplied bid sheet, on the next available blank line. 5. The value of items contributed for the auction has been determined by the donors and is not warranted by the committee for tax purposes or general value. 6. The auction chairs and The Chesapeake Support Our Heroes (CSOH) make no representations as to the value of the items. All items are offered in “as is” condition. 7. MEET & GREET WITH THE ARTISTS Regina Baker-Priebe Regina has found a lifetime of enjoyment in the world of art.Although watercolor is her favorite painting medium, she also dabbles with acrylics, graphite and pastels. When she is not painting and drawing, she loves to knit and enjoys working up unique pieces in colorful fibers. She collects old and new beads and turns them into earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Most recently she has been re-purposing garments by cutting them up and sewing them into purses.
Alice Boyd Alice is a local artist in Havre de Grace. She has studied the Old Masters style under Lee Alban.
Robin Capecci Realizing an in-born ability to draw in her childhood, Robin worked mainly in charcoal until trying her hand at oil painting at about 20 years old. Her earlier paintings relied heavily on her drawing abilities. More recently, she’s been exploring a looser style while painting en plein aire. Robin’s artwork is currently represented in the Arts by the Bay Gallery in Havre de Grace, the Cultural Arts Board Building in Bel Air, Studio House in Bel Air, and on Fineartamerica.com.
James Cattell James was born in New Jersey and attended Hunter College in NYC. He has been active in the Arts since the 1960’s.

Debbi Granruth Being a former Floridian has made an impact on Debbi’s photography as she prefers to photograph tropical locations. MEET & GREET WITH THE ARTISTS Alice Humphries Alice lives in Harford County, MD. She has been trained in various artistic mediums including photography, watercolors, oils and acrylics. Finding enjoyment in the simple things of life, her subjects are found in the world around her.
Michael King Michael practiced architecture for over thirty-five years. The visual arts have always been his passion, and since 2010 he has been focusing on painting. “My goal is to travel the country visiting my five daughters and paint along the way.”
Alexandra Kopp Creativity has always been a part of Alexandra’s life, and about 10 years ago she found her passion in painting. She loves working with color and contrast trying to create something that reflects a mood. She hopes that people get the same sense of calm and relaxation from her artwork that she gets from creating it.
Jane Lang After many years of drawing and painting for her children’s entertainment, Jane decided to find her own niche in creativity. “Break to Create” has become that niche. Creating designs with stained glass and porcelain to hang on the wall or rejuvenating an old tired piece of furniture is a passion for her.

MEET & GREET WITH THE ARTISTS Judy A. Lenehan Judy received the majority of her art training in New York City and in London, England where she studied sculpture and drawing. While continuing to work in clay, Judy has recently begun exploring the use of color, composition and texture, creating images with fabric and other textiles on canvas. Through all of her work, she has sought to create imagery reflecting the heart and nature of Father God. Her relationship with God the Creator grows as she works together with Him in the creative process. Her prayer is that others will be inspired in their spiritual journeys through her work. Lise Lorentzen Lise has been Rosemaling for over 30 years and recently received a white ribbon nationally for her work in the Hallingdal style. MEET & GREET WITH THE ARTISTS Sandy Molinaro Sandy has been fortunate enough to travel extensively in the United States and in many foreign countries. She has been taking her camera along and developing her eye and her talent for over 30 years.
Joan Preston After retiring from her “day job” Joan has continued to pursue her life-long love of painting and drawing. Her aim is a gently nostalgic view of the everyday, as evidenced by the painting “Woodland Sunset”. Joan has studied at Harford Community College and with local and national artists. She has exhibited both locally and statewide and has been the recipient of several local awards. Joan participates in a plein aire group.
Lawrence Priebe Lawrence, a resident of Forest Hill, MD, taught himself to draw architectural structures along with acquiring additional training from local and nationally recognized artists . “My drawings are the result of my desire to represent by virtue of scale, realism and minimal color the compositions that lead the eye around the plane. I choose to put the viewer on a level with my subject so that they may feel a part of the scene, but focused on the beauty of the primary subject.”

MEET & GREET WITH THE ARTISTS John Sauers John, a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art, retired after 35 years as a graphic artist and designer at BGE to pursue more fully his love of plein aire painting. After 19 years in Virginia, where John was resident artist at the William King Regional Art Center in Abingdon,Virginia, he moved back to Harford County. John can be seen “when the light is right” just about anywhere there is a view. His credo? “Observe nature and be honest in your presentation.”
Linnea Tober Linnea is a “colorist” at heart and thrives when playing with color in her abstract works. Her photography focuses mainly on nature….the intricate textures, shapes and shadows she creates on her own. Linnea shoots images, always thinking of what it can “become”. She then twists and tweaks them to make them her own “nature photographic abstractions”. Sometimes you can see the original image and sometimes not…it all depends on where the muse takes her.
Bill Watson Bill is a classically trained fine artist and professional graphic designer residing in Havre de Grace, MD. Over the years, Bill has perfected his use of pastels to portray various subjects in a colorful impressionist style. His work accentuates light and its effects. The intense use of color provides a vibrant interpretation or “impression” of the rendered scene. Bill’s works are all available as high-quality Gicleé prints.
