HEY, I’M DAN JACOBS – VP SPORTS AND RECREATION. Welcome to Team Surrey! Getting yourself signed up for a Surrey Sports Park membership if the first step towards getting involved in sport at Surrey!

This year we have a record breaking number of sporting opportunities available for students to participate in, accommodating everyone from our world class athletes to those that want to try something new for the first time. Regardless of ability, we take pride in making sure there is something for everyone.

After smashing our target last year by breaking into the top 40 in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) league tables, we now have the challenge of breaking into the top 30. However, we need your help! Make sure you come and check out our 45 clubs on offer and give sport a go.

“Play Sport - Social Sport at Surrey” is a Team Surrey run initiative that provides sporting opportunities for students in a social setting. These sessions are run by our student coaching team who strive to make their sessions fun, friendly and approachable to all. Whether you are new to a sport or want to continue playing at a social level, make sure you check out our Play Sport activities we have to offer.

Based on Manor Park campus, the University of Surrey’s multi-million pound sports facility oozes world class. USEFUL INFORMATION HOW TO BOOK Individual bookings can be made up to 14 days in advance for members and 7 days in advance for non-members.

Payment is required at time of booking for all activities. Secure payment can be made in person, over the phone or online.

Booking tickets for activities can be collected in person at Front of House at time of booking or prepaid activities can be collected at our Ticket Collection Kiosks.

BOOKING CODE OF CONDUCT • Non-marking soled trainers must be worn • T-shirts must remain on at all times • Guests must wear correct sports clothing – jeans are not permitted • Members are not permitted to book consecutive courts or courts side by side • Arena bookings must be paid for at peak times (after 4.00pm weekdays) • Guests should change in changing rooms rather than the arenas or squash courts • Guests should be courteous to one another and wait until their allotted time slot before disturbing others • Arena bookings are 55 minutes long • No open topped drinks are to be consumed in the arenas or squash courts – closed containers or sports capped drinks only • No chewing gum in the arenas or squash courts

STUDENT SPORTS CLUBS With 45 sports clubs and more always forming, the University of Surrey has a strong presence in competitive sport against other universities within British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS)- the national governing body for university sport in the UK.

Whether you are an established sports person or a complete beginner, you’ll be welcomed into our sports community. From archery to volleyball, the opportunity is here for you to find your sport and play for your University – either competitively, or socially!

Every Wednesday during the semester, our sports clubs compete in the BUCS leagues, cups and trophies against other universities and colleges. After smashing our target to achieve BUCS top 40 last year and finishing 36th, we are looking to continue our rise up the league table and do even better in 2014/15!

PERFORMANCE SPORT HIGH PERFORMANCE ATHLETE SUPPORT SCHEME The University of Surrey High Performance Athlete Support Scheme (HPASS) is designed to assist talented student athletes fulfill their sporting potential whilst achieving academic excellence.
