WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY

everyone’s talking about... CELEBRITIES

LADY GAGA IN RARE PDA

Lady Gaga put on a rare public display of affection gushing about her fiancé Michael Polansky on his 42nd birthday and posing for paparazzi pictures.

The happy couple spent the day going for a walk, visiting a local farm where they got to pet goats, then had birthday cake before hitting the town for drinks to finish off the celebrations.

Lady Gaga is notoriously private and rarely goes out and poses for pictures – however she happily smiled and hugged Michael and even gave her soonto-be boyfriend a kiss - in front of onlookers and the

Later that night she delivered a heartfelt message on her “Happy Birthday to my honey. I hope 42 is your best year yet, you have done so much in your 42 years,” Gaga, 39, wrote on September 26th via Instagram. “I am so proud of you every day, and so grateful for this day you came into the world, it was the most special day. This is my favourite day of the year!” She continued, “A crisp and almost rainy day, a long walk, with the backdrop of a sweet birthday smile and lots of laughter and angel food cake with chocolate sauce. Even this goat knows what a happy day your birthday is

The public also got a rare glimpse of Gaga’s stunning engagement ring. It is estimated to be worth around $1M with a diamond that looks to be between 10 and 20 carats!

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky have been dating since 2019 – after Gaga’s mum set them up after meeting the billionaire entrepreneur and businessman at a charity event –and thinking he’d be perfect for her daughter.

She was right! The wedding is booked for next year and Gaga couldn’t be happier.

HARRY DEFENDS MEETING WITH CHARLES

Harry has finally publicly spoken out about his recent reunion with his father, King Charles. Harry’s rep told People Magazine on September 27th in an official statement that it is “categorically false” that the King, 76, treated his youngest son like an “official visitor” during their meeting at Clarence House earlier this month, addressing the multiple newspaper reports claiming the reunion was “distinctly formal” in nature.

Harry and Charles have had a strained relationship since he left The Royal Family to move to the US with wife Meghan and kids Archie and Lillibet. He is working hard on building bridges, especially with his father getting a recent Cancer diagnosis.

ED SHEREEN ON WEIGHT LOSS & NEW SIX PACK

Ed Sheeren has revealed he’s in the best shape of his life after an incredible 9-month journey losing a stone and gaining a six pack!

“I got to the start of the year, and basically I put on a load of weight last year. I was, like, ‘I’m gonna hit gym-heavy, try and lose a stone,” Sheeran, 34, said on his September 24th appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy show. “Then, as I was doing that, I was like, ‘I want to see how far I can take this.’”

Shereen also revealed he’s not a fan of gyms but has found other means of staying fit, and prefers outdoor running to indoor fitness centres, where he can get fresh air into his lungs.

“There’s nothing like fresh air to really give you a clean out,” Sheeran continued of his decision to start running: "That’s, for me, the main reason why I started doing it."

Although the singer/songmaker has admitted he’s not perfect all the time!

“I keep messing up because I keep being out somewhere, like, ‘I’ll have a couple of beers,’” the Play musician revealed. “But, I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life.”

Sheeran, father to Lyra (5) and Jupiter (3), previously revealed that he lost 50 pounds after navigating “external pressure” from the public to resemble other artists.

“I didn’t even touch exercise for a long time,” he said on the “Behind the Medal” podcast in December 2019, hinting at his future intentions to run a marathon. “Now, I do, like, 45 minutes in the morning and then maybe have a swim or do sit-ups. I think it’s all about training. I think, for me, it would be doing a 10k first. I would have to do it somewhere where a lot of people aren’t watching.”

HOUSE OF GUINNESS PISS UPS!

SELENA GETS HITCHED

US singer Selena Gomez has revealed pics of her 27th September wedding to beau, music producer Benny Blanco.

The power couple got married at an exclusive California estate and had over 200 guests including Taylor Swift, Paris Hilton, Martin Short and Steve Martin in attendance.

Selena wore a backless, custom-made white Ralph Lauren dress as she walked down the aisle.

Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, first started dating back in 2023, got engaged in 2024 and now the wedding in 2025, will kids be their big news in 2026?

As well as being a couple, the duo have collaborated on an album together called ‘I Said I Love You First… And You Said It Back,’ which was released in March.

The stars of new Netflix series ‘House of Guiness’ have revealed that they regularly drank on set while filming the series about the infamous Guinness founders.

And not just a little! Sometimes they would get through 8 pints in a day, ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Jack Gleeson - who plays wheeler dealer Bryon Hughes in the 8-part series - revealed to Lad Bible.

However, it was not all the full alcoholic version, they would turn to. The directors gave them a lot of Guinness 0.0 although Gleeson and his co-star Niamh McCormack claimed that they still felt “woozy” after this.

“As the shooting on one day was particularly hot and there was a scene where I had to slam pints, and after 3, I definitely felt drunk!”

The series, created by Peaky Blinders’ Stephen Knight, portrays the story of how the aristocrats of ale forged their legendary drink brand amid the turmoils of Ireland in the 1860’s.

‘CHILLIN’ CON CARNE

Autumn is here; with crisp air, green to orange leaves in abundance and conkers about to appear on the ground, we can recreate the feeling of warmth with this delicious Chilli Con Carne recipe. With only 387 calories per portion and a 5 star rating on BBC Good Food, it’s the perfect comfort food to make you feel right at home.

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 tbsp oil

• 1 large onion

• 1 red pepper

• 2 garlic cloves, peeled

• 1 heaped tsp hot chilli powder (or 1 level tbsp if you only have mild)

• 1 tsp paprika

• 1 tsp ground cumin

• 500g lean minced beef

• 1 beef stock cube

• 400g can chopped tomatoes

• ½ tsp dried marjoram

• 1 tsp sugar

• 2 tbsp tomato purée

• 410g can red kidney beans

• Plain boiled long grain rice, to serve

• Soured cream, to serve

METHOD:

1. Dice 1 large onion, cut 1 red pepper in half lengthways, remove stalk and wash the seeds away, then chop. Peel and finely chop 2 garlic cloves.

2. Put your pan on the hob over a medium heat. Add the oil and leave it for 1-2 minutes until hot. Add the onions and cook, stirring fairly frequently, for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are soft, squidgy and slightly translucent. Tip in the garlic, red pepper, 1 heaped tsp hot chilli powder or 1 level tbsp mild chilli powder, 1 tsp paprika and 1 tsp ground cumin. Give it a good stir, then leave

RECIPE

it to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Turn the heat up a bit, add the meat to the pan and break it up with your spoon or spatula. Keep stirring and prodding for at least 5 minutes, until all the mince is in uniform, mince-sized lumps and there are no more pink bits. Make sure you keep the heat hot enough for the meat to fry and become brown, rather than just stew.

4. Crumble 1 beef stock cube into 300ml hot water. Pour this into the pan with the mince mixture. Open 1 can of chopped tomatoes and add these as well. Tip in ½ tsp dried marjoram and 1 tsp sugar, and add a good shake of salt and pepper. Squirt in about 2 tbsp tomato purée and stir the sauce well.

5. Bring the whole thing to the boil, give it a good stir and put a lid on the pan. Turn down the heat until it is gently bubbling and leave it for 20 minutes. You should check on the pan occasionally

to stir it and make sure the sauce doesn’t catch on the bottom of the pan or isn’t drying out. If it is, add a couple of tablespoons of water and make sure that the heat really is low enough. After simmering gently, the saucy mince mixture should look thick, moist and juicy.

6. Drain and rinse 1 can of red kidney beans and stir them into the chilli pot. Bring to the boil again, and gently bubble without the lid for another 10 minutes, adding a little more water if it looks too dry. Taste a bit of the chilli and season. It will probably take a lot more seasoning than you think. Now replace the lid, turn off the heat and leave your chilli to stand for 10 minutes before serving, and relax. Leaving your chilli to stand is really important as it allows the flavours to mingle and the meat.

7. Serve with soured cream and plain boiled long grain rice.

WINE PAIRING

A beer would be the safest option to have with a chili, but safe is boring. Instead opt for a Red Zinfandel, which is both rich and ripe, bursting with bramble fruit with just a touch of vanilla. These flavours create the perfect blend to mix with anything meaty.

A Beefsteak Club Malbec says it all in the name, the wine that is made for beef. Deep and vibrant with an intense nose of plum, damson and dark chocolate aromas. Lush and layered on the palate, with well-integrated oak and plenty of fine tannins, it will complement your chilli to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

MOVIE REVIEW ALBUM REVIEW BOOK REVIEW

TRON: ARES

‘Tron: Ares’ is the latest installment in the Tron franchise, directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto as Ares, a highly sophisticated programme sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission.

The movie, out on October 10th, has so far received mixed reviews, with some praising its stunning visuals and ambitious storytelling, while others have found it lacking in certain areas.

It has sparked debates among audiences, particularly regarding its controversial lead and the themes of AI and humanity. While some viewers appreciate ‘Tron: Ares’ timely reflection on these issues, others feel that it falls short in delivering a cohesive narrative.

However, ‘Tron: Ares’ is noted for its bold visuals and brilliant action sequences, which set it apart from its predecessors. The action sequences, in particular Jared Leto evading drones and riot police through a maze of city streets, blend a superb mix of physical stunts and digital wizardry that makes them feel raw and intense.

A further plus point for the film is its soundtrack created by Nine Inch Nails – thudding and eerie electric hums that do power and propel the movie. Jared Leto acts his heart out in the lead role as Ares; as does Hollywood great Jeff Bridges and ‘X Files’ lead Gillian Anderson in their supporting acting roles.

THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL – TAYLOR SWIFT

Taylor Swift's ultra-glam 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ has already made headlines even before its official release.

Set for release on October 3rd, it has already broken Spotify's all-time, pre-saved record list. The tracklist includes songs such as ‘Elizabeth Taylor,’ ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ and ‘Actually Romantic,’ with the title track ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter - already being pipped to hit the Number 1 spot.

Swift has described the 12-track album as a “reflection of her life behind the scenes” created during her record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’ in 2024. The album explores the exuberant, electric and vibrant moments of her inside life during the tour – warts and all.

Early reviews of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ have been overwhelmingly positive. Zoë Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz’ daughter and a close friend of Swift, described the album as "fantastic" and noted that it has "no skips!” Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce has praised the album, calling all 12 songs "bangers”.

The album cover, designed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, features Swift floating in water, apparently symbolising the offstage moments of her touring.

‘The Life of a Showgirl’ promises to be a captivating and infectious album that showcases Swift's ability to blend vivid, crisp lyrics with catchy melodies. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, and it seems poised to be another major success for the country turned pop supremo.

OTHER PEOPLE’S FUN – HARRIET LANE

Harriet Lane’s ‘Other People’s Fun’ is the first novel by the acclaimed author in a decade. And what a mighty return!

The book centres around lead character; Ruth who is facing an empty nest with her daughter leaving home coinciding and the end of her marriage while enduring a humdrum job.

Her tedium is brightened by the reappearance of Sookie, confident, vivacious and keen to be Ruth’s pal after ignoring her when they were teenagers.

As Ruth is caught up in Sookie's life, she sees that everything is not as simple and Instagrammable as Sookie would have you believe. But what has that got to do with Ruth, and what can she do about it?

Described by critics as “Unputdownable, funny, spiky and subtle” - ‘Other People’s Fun’ is a novel about modern life and the lies we tell our neighbours, friends, families and selves through the hall of mirrors that is social media.

Filled with Harriet Lane's trademark creeping unease and forensic observation, this marks the longawaited return of the mistress of literary suspense.

‘Other People’s Fun’ explores the current topical themes of social media, artifice and performance. “I wanted to write about that state of free fall and assembling a different sort of life” Harriet explains candidly.

The novel is out for release on October 30th and is well worth a read.

‘2:22 - A GHOST STORY’

STORY’ REVEALED

Written by Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcasts ‘Uncanny’ and ‘The Battersea Poltergeist’, ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ comes fresh from record-breaking seasons at five West End theatres with a host of acclaimed star performances. It’s a brilliantly funny and adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear… what do you believe? And do you dare discover the truth? Surrey Rocks caught up with two of the key cast members; Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton – to find out more about the award-winning play coming to Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre this month.

As the first real-life couple to star in ‘2:22 - A Ghost Story’, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton are relishing the chance to work together again. It's been seven years since they took the Glitterball Trophy on Strictly Come Dancing. "And that feels like a really long time ago," says Dooley now.

The presenter, journalist and actress starred in the smash-hit thriller for a limited run at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End in 2024. She played Jenny, a young mother who along with her husband Sam has recently moved into a house that they are in the process of renovating. Every night at precisely 2:22am they hear strange and disconcerting sounds in a nerve-shredding thriller that The Guardian has hailed as "A slick, chilling romp of a play".

Written by Danny Robins and premiering in 2021, it was one of dancer and musical theatre star Clifton's favourite plays even before he saw Dooley in it. "So that was another reason for us to say yes to the tour," he says.

The couple are parents to two-year-old Minnie and they'll be taking her on the road with them when they embark on the 2:22 tour from early August until late November, with Stacey admitting: "Of course, travelling the country with a two-year-old will bring its own stresses, but it's great that we can all be together as a family."

She smiles. "Kev and I have very different approaches. I take my work seriously, but he really throws himself into things, so he'll be examining and dissecting every line of the script."

Dooley and Clifton are speaking ahead of rehearsals. "And I think the first day or so in the rehearsal room will be interesting," Kevin muses. "There's the real you when you're hanging out with your mates or your family, then there's the work version of you, and it feels odd when friends or family see the work version of you because they're used to the real you. Stace knows everything about me and the way I am in normal life, so for us to become

these different characters with each other will be quite funny until we relax into it."

It's a very different dynamic to the one they had on Strictly, with Stacey noting: "Kev was the expert in that instance and he knew Strictly inside out. I felt incredibly well looked after and it was like a teacher-student relationship." With 2:22 Dooley has done the play before and it's Clifton's first non-musical. "So it's like a role reversal," she says.

Has she given him any pointers? They both laugh as Stacey jokes: "I've told him 'Listen Kev, I'm very happy to nurture new talent, so if you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask!'"

And will he listen to her advice? "I'm going to have to! But you would anyway, wouldn't you? With colleagues, the whole idea is to share ideas and to listen." Plus, Stacey points out that for her it's a different cast and a different director in Gabriel Vega Weissman. "It's going to feel new for me as well. It's as much a learning curve for me as it is for him."

In the edge-of-the-seat story, Jenny is convinced the house is haunted but Sam is having none of it. When their old friend Lauren and her new partner Ben come round for dinner, belief and scepticism clash and they agree to stay up until 2:22 to try and find out what's really going on.

For Stacey, Jenny is a relatable character. "We can either see parts of ourselves in Jenny or we've got pals who remind us of her. She's a mum who's just trying to find her feet. She's a teacher, so she's got a lot going on work-wise. And she's a mum, so I can relate to her on that level too. When you have a baby, you're

like 'Oh, God, who am I apart from Mum?'"

Kevin sees Sam as an equally recognisable character. "We all know at least one Sam in our circles - someone who's a bit of a know-it-all, who has read a few things on social media and now considers himself an expert."

Dooley was drawn to the play the first time around because of parallels with her own life. "I had just had a little girl and we had just moved house, so I could totally understand where Jenny was coming from. But Jenny's probably a bit more placid than I am and a bit sweeter. I don't think I'm patient enough to be a teacher."

And is Kevin anything like Sam? "I don't think so but maybe I used to be. When I was in my early 20s I liked going against the grain of everyone's opinions. For example, if you'd told me you liked a particular pop song I'd say 'Well, that's because they've taken it from another song from the 70s and it's actually not an original idea'. I've grown out of that now."

There's another big difference. "Jenny and Sam's dynamic is a world away from how me and Kev interact," Stacey is keen to point out. "We're pretty chill. We haven't got the kind of headbutty relationship that they have."

Since its 2021 premiere 2:22 has enjoyed a series of West End residences and headed out on its first UK tour in 2023. It has also played Los Angeles, Australia and Ireland, and Stacey thinks it attracts return visits because: "It's one of those shows where once you've seen it you're tempted to go and see it a second or third time because there's so much to it, and it's even more intriguing once you're aware of how it ends."

Without giving spoilers, Kevin chimes in with: "It's cleverly written, it's very interesting in terms of the subject matter, and it's also entertaining all the way through." Not naming names, he adds: "You go and watch some plays and they're like pure entertainment with not much depth to them. Others are really highbrow and you sort of need a manual to understand them. This one hits the sweet spot."

Luton-born Dooley came to fame as a documentarian, earning an MBE in 2018 for services to broadcasting. That same year she and Clifton were partnered on Strictly Come Dancing and emerged as the winners.

She made her stage debut in 2:22 in August last year and she's really looking forward to playing Jenny again, saying: "This probably sounds cheesy but I really fell in love with the art of theatre. I loved every single aspect of putting a show together. There was such a sense of camaraderie and I loved being on stage every night. And now with the tour I do believe that

regional theatre is hugely important. Everybody around the country should have the opportunity to be exposed to different kinds of shows."

Clifton started out as a professional dancer before his 7-year tenure on Strictly turned him into a household name. Since leaving the show he has starred in such musicals as Rock of Ages, War of the Worlds, Strictly Ballroom and Chicago, but 2:22 marks his first time appearing in a straight play.

"I'm trying to play it cool," he grins, "but I'm really excited about this moment. I'm a huge fan of 2:22 and when I first saw it I thought 'I'd love to be part of this play'. I love theatre and I love doing musicals, but as I'd been saying to Stace 'At some point doing a straight play is the goal'. Now it's a reality and I'm buzzing about it."

They both have their theories as to why theatregoers enjoy a good thriller. "There's something about scary stuff that takes you to the edge of your emotions," Kevin feels, "and maybe there's a bit of safety in numbers for the audience where they're all in it together. They're on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what's going to happen next."

Having been in the show already Stacey agrees, adding: "During rehearsals you think you have an idea of how it's going to play out, then you hear the audience gasp. It's a thrill. There are points in the show where you hear them scream and you're delighted because you see how invested they are."

For the record, Clifton scares easily when it comes to horror stories, Dooley not so much. And in real life? "The only thing I can't deal with is rodents," she grimaces. "There was a mouse in the kitchen of a house we've been doing up and I told Kev 'We'll have to move'." He wasn't fazed, laughing: "My fears are more about kind of deep existential stuff."

Getting to tour together in a play was one of the main draws for a couple whose busy schedules often keep them apart. "Kev is on tour a lot and he'll be all over the place," Stacey says, "and if I'm at work often my locations are further afield. The timing is right and it's probably the last time we can do something like this before Minnie will be three or four, and we'll be thinking about preschool and stuff like that."

Kevin smiles again. "We're striking while the iron is hot."

HAPPY SHOCKTOBER!

With the spooky season officially in full swing, we’re looking forward to monster-sized Surrey adventures with ghoulishly good days out on our doorstep. From picking the perfect pumpkin, braving spinetingling ghostly train rides through the vines and Fright Nights at the farm, to mysterious trails, seasonal crafts, and so much more, don your creepiest costumes for happy Halloween adventures with your mini ghouls’n’witches at fang-tastic local events offering fun-filled eeriness for the whole family to enjoy.

CELEBRITY HALLOWEEN

But first, here are my exclusive interviews with a couple of famous faces about Fright Night, their childhood memories of Halloween & more!

SHOCKTOBER!

Spooked-out ‘Made In Chelsea’ star Amelia Mist is among our regular models at Surrey Fashion Week.

“I actually don’t like Halloween because I’m such a wimp!” Amelia admits to me. “But I do enjoy getting dressed up and enjoying events on certain occasions such as Halloween, as everybody comes together and dresses up to the best of their ability… some more than others!!”

“When I was a lot younger, my parents and I had lots of parties with all my friends,” she continues. “I remember my dad used to dress up in something long and black and cover his head and grab one of the palm tree leaves, stick it in his collar and make us jump. And we went trick-or-treating around the crescent.”

What really spooks this popular reality TV star? Pretty much everything! I am petrified of most Halloween–related things because I am a wimp, as I said… Ha ha! However, I feel after going to the Fright Night event I have conquered my fear of being made to ‘jump’. Just make sure you have a glass of wine beforehand – it makes everything smoother!!”

Her fave spooky characters? “I actually can’t tell you any because I am unable to watch anything spooky!”

I also caught up with ‘Ted Lasso’ star Kola Bokinni, who plays Richmond Team Captain Isaac on the Emmy Award–winning Apple TV+ series and is also known for his roles in Netflix’s ‘Topboy’ and ‘Black Mirror’, along with ‘Celebrity Bear Hunt’ and ‘Race Across the World’.

What does Kola love most about the spooky season?

“Dressing up!

As I do in my job… I love the fantasy part of it, and going all out with the costumes and, of course, the parties!!”

What spooks the TV star?

“Spiders! I once googled ‘spider eyes’ by accident and haven’t quite recovered yet… Ha ha!!”

His fave

spooky character? “Freddy Krueger – it’s something about invading peoples’ dreams… He takes it too far!”

And Kola’s childhood memories of Halloween? “My mum was really big on it, so, the party was doing the whole house up, turning it into a spooky nightmare… we went BIG on Halloween!!”

october 2025 Hot Stars!

Your october Astrology Forecast from PIA TALBOT

Aries

21 MAR – 20 APR

An inner conflict is stopping you from making the most of October, Aries. You’re fighting with yourself and by doing this, you won’t win either way. Come to a compromise and allow both sides of yourself to say their peace. Furthermore, this month is going to bring a much needed change to your life. If you’ve been feeling stuck recently, October is shaking things up! Roll with the punches and allow these changes to unfold. As an Aries, you are naturally impulsive. This isn’t necessarily a bad trait, it’s actually one that many people love about you, however sometimes it can leave you wishing you had thought about something more before making a big decision. Rein in this impulsivity if you can and allow your mind to take over for a while.

Taurus

21 APR – 20 MAY

Childhood memories are likely to come to the surface this month, Taurus. October is a time of reflection for you, so use this time to think about your past. You can’t change what’s already been done, but you can honour the good and try to understand the bad. As a Taurus, you need to understand the world from an intellectual point of view. Your communication skills are excellent and have many opinions on important matters. Spend some time this month engaging with people who have similar interests as you so you can share and learn from each other. Finally, with all this self-reflection, this is your time to release limiting beliefs. Don’t be the one to hold yourself back. You know how capable you are, so listen to that voice in your head telling you to go for it.

Gemini

22 MAY – 21 JUNE

Creative opportunities are coming your way this month. You’re naturally someone who needs to express themself and luckily October brings multiple chances for you to do so.

Whether these are fun Halloween activities, or work-related pursuits, get those creative juices flowing! It’s time to have some compassion for yourself, Gemini. You enjoy pushing through tough times and rarely take the opportunity to reflect on your feelings. It's more than okay to allow yourself to grieve parts of your past. Finally, October sees you making big progress in multiple areas of your life. There will be no ‘feeling stuck’ this month. Enjoy resting when you can, because there isn’t going to be much in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for the number 5.

Cancer

22 JUNE – 23 JULY

It’s time to get rid of any victimmentality, Cancerian. If you have been through a tough few months, it’s only natural to be asking the universe ‘Why me?’, but this way of thinking isn’t going to serve you moving forward. Remember who you are and keep that fighting spirit alive within. As is normal with your sign, you have so many inner feelings that can be confusing to wade through. One moment you’ll feel on top of the world, and the next in constant fear of the future. Take some time to understand what’s going on inside your head. Remember not to be so hard on yourself and don’t feel guilty for things you deem as disappointments and failures. There are so many new opportunities and potential available to you this month.

Leo

24 JULY – 23 AUG

A work-home conflict may have been causing a bit of stress recently. This is completely normal and shows growth happening in your life. You’re going through a transition period and need to allow your new life to settle before making any big decisions. A recent betrayal may have left you feeling a bit beaten down and unsure who to trust. If someone has made you feel this way, then they weren’t meant to stick around. Make room for those in your life you can rely on. You have a natural warmth, Leo, that attracts many people towards you. When you shine your light onto them, they feel the love of a thousand suns! Never stop expressing how you feel to those in your life you care about.

Virgo

24 AUG – SEPT 3

You may be feeling as if there’s an information overload going on in your life at the moment, Virgo. You have spent the summer collecting resources and gathering as many facts as possible. Now is the time to sit with this information and sort through it accordingly step by step to avoid feeling overwhelmed by it all. You may also be feeling tricked by someone else into thinking they’re someone they are clearly not. There is a part of you that wishes to avoid facing up to what has happened and leave these feelings undetected. Naturally, you are likely to get away with this for a while, but your feelings will ultimately catch up with you. Finally, it’s important to have courage this month, as you will likely be working hard on upcoming project out of your comfort zone.

Libra

24 SEPT – 23 OCT

October is a time to share your wealth with others, Libra. This doesn’t necessarily mean financial wealth, but also emotional. People look to you when they’re feeling sad to lift them up and give them some of your positivity. However, you must remember to incorporate self-care into your routine. You’re always looking out for others, so make sure to take some time just for you. You can’t be at the top of your game if you’re not showing yourself some love as well. Finally, you may be feeling a resistance to change at the moment. You have become well acquainted with your daily routine and have started to notice things changing. Welcome in these shifts and know that nothing lasts forever, so enjoy where you’re at right now.

SCORPIO

24 OCT – 22 NOV

Use your intuition, Scorpio. This isn’t a time to rely on other people’s opinions. Trust your instinct and go with what feels right for you at this moment. You have many untapped talents just waiting beneath the surface, and this month is going to bring them out of you. It’s likely you’re not even aware of them yet and unexpected changes will lead you to using parts of yourself you didn’t know you had. Nurture these talents, as you never know what they will add to your life. Sustainable results are coming in October. These won’t be fleeting successes and will be proof of your hard work. Enjoy the luck that this month is going to bring you! Keep an eye out for the number 10.

Sagittarius

23 NOV – 21 DEC

Your mindset has been lacking in motivation recently. It’s time to change this, Sagittarius! Focus on doing some inner work to get you back to your fiery nature. You are a success driven person and find it difficult when there aren’t any projects in the pipeline. Throw yourself into something and even if it doesn’t feel quite right, do it anyway and see what happens. Nothing is ever wasted if you learn from it. October is going to bring you domination and control over aspects of your life. You like to be in charge and find it difficult taking orders from other people. Embrace your leadership qualities and take back the reins. Keep an eye out for the number 28.

Capricorn

22 DEC – 20 JAN

October is going to bring a theme of exploring the shadow side of your mind and accepting all parts of who you are. If you are struggling with aspects of yourself, remember that help is always available through counselling and guidance in many different forms. Face your fears and don’t give them the power they want. Uncommonly for you, you’re lacking a long-term vision and when results don’t happen straight away, you start doubting your skills. Zoom out for a moment and look at the next few months as a whole. Just because you can’t see results right this second, doesn’t mean they’re not on their way. You are following convention and sticking with your tried and tested model. What you’re doing right now will lead to results, and when you’re ready you’ll shake things up.

Aquarius

21 JAN – 19 FEB

Others look to you as a leader and expert in your field, Aquarius, but you may be shying away from that role. You’re not one to enjoy being in the spotlight and prefer to hide away. Don’t worry, as there are plenty of ways you can change the world through your own ideals. Even though it’s not as clearly seen as other signs, you are a very warm person who wants to shower people with love and attention. However, not many people get to see this side of you. Take some time this month to shine your love onto the people you truly care about. Finally, use your intuitive side to make decisions at the moment. Trust your gut instinct and don’t second guess yourself. You know what’s best for you better than anyone else.

Pisces

20 FEB – 20 MAR

You are focusing your attention on your feelings this month, Pisces. There are many emotions that have been stored deep within that are now coming to the surface. Through this inner work, you are gaining control over your emotional well-being so that you’re better equipped to live a happy life. October brings you the capabilities to embrace both your masculine and feminine sides. You prefer to go with the flow and see what life brings, which allows you to accept and nurture every aspect of yourself. You have an amazing ability to stay grounded and still go with the tide. Finally, you may be feeling like you’re going through a test of faith at the moment. Push through. It may be hard but always remember to have faith in yourself.

Experience the Art of Living Danishly

New AW25 collection unveiled with BoConcept

BoConcept invites you to explore The Art of Living Danishly through its visionary AW25 collection. Under the artistic direction of Helena Christensen, BoConcept presents collaborations with celebrated designers CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio, ARDE, Says Who and Morten Georgsen. The result is a compelling blend of comfort, craftsmanship, elegance, and sustainability.

Danish Design with Italian Soul

The Milano sofa and coffee-table series marks a bold collaboration between BoConcept and CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio. Merging Danish minimalism with Italian elegance, Milano translates architectural poise into tactile living. For Bellini, a sofa is not just a seat—it’s “a landscape you build at home.” With its modular system, Milano supports endless con gurations, offering xed or free cushions, armrests and backrests of equal height to convey visual lightness. Bellini’s Italian warmth balances BoConcept’s Scandinavian clarity, resulting in a sculptural presence grounded in everyday luxury. The Milano collection offers longevity in both form and intent – furniture designed not just to be seen, but lived in.

Helena Christensen’s Debut: Ø Lounge

Chair

Helena Christensen introduces the Ø lounge chair—a spacious cocoon-like sanctuary inspired by Danish island life. Neither sofa nor traditional armchair, Ø blends oversized form with enveloping comfort. Launching in Lucca, a richly textured fabric designed exclusively by Helena, Ø invites tactile and sensory respite. Accompanying the lounge chair is an expanded Flora capsule of accessories: enlarged oral artworks, sculptural ower forms, a ceramic vase, a hand-tufted rug in ‘Celestial Yellow’, and a series of soft “Teddy” cushions in warm tones. These pieces re ect Helena’s passion for vintage aesthetics, organic shapes and personalisation—transforming interiors into expressions of nature, art and comfort.

Bedrooms Reimagined: Element & Bolzano Suites

BoConcept rede nes bedroom living with two new suite-style collections: Element and Bolzano, each re ecting the rising trend for holistic bedroom environments. Element emphasises modularity and clean Scandinavian form: customisable bed frames, headboards in wood or upholstery, night stands and

dressers. Architect Morten Georgsen stresses personalisation without compromise. In contrast, Bolzano embraces sensorial calm and curved elegance. Softly upholstered, cocoon-like headboards, matte nishes and fabric-wrapped bases. Bolzano is more than functional—it’s an emotional retreat, designed to soothe and centre in the face of digital overload.

ARDE’s Aarhus Sofa: The Circular Statement

From ARDE and René Hougaard comes the Aarhus sofa—an exercise in sustainable Scandinavian design. Designed for complete disassembly, devoid of glue, and built around steel springs rather than hard-to-recycle foam, Aarhus offers modular re-upholstery. With visible craftsmanship—warm wood trim, soft rounded silhouette, sculptural arms—the sofa is both timeless and contemporary. Matching coffee and side tables continue the same aesthetic, avoiding UV lacquers in favour of natural nishes. The result: furniture that balances elegance, utility and longevity.

At Jonathan Rowlandson Design we have provided a unique design and build service for a range of clients for over 20 years. With an emphasis on innovative, contemporary design solutions we have risen to the challenge of every project, interior or exterior. Combining our unique approach to metal items with wood, glass, stone, and other materials. At JRD we offer a range of furniture items including the Otolo range. We also design and produce items sympathetic to their environment, be it a rustic bar restaurant with an artisan feel – normally providing seating, counters, bars, lighting, signage, etc. such as Dog Star Brixton – or one-off sculptural items such as the tables for Vivienne Westwood. Our inspiration will often come from the clients’ desires, as well as tapping into nature and art to find a suitable solution. Hardly any 2 projects are the same, we continue to provide new and hopefully better designs.
