GAZETTE SEPTEMBER 2019
September Message from the Town Manager Kids are back in school and the Town of Surfside is once again buzzing with action. School time can also lead to heightened stress levels, especially with increased traffic congestion. Our Surfside Police Department wants to remind residents to allow for additional time to travel from point A to point B and to always practice road safety. The same goes for pedestrians who use the sidewalks and crosswalks. See page 3 for Back to School Safety Tips from the Police Department. The much-anticipated Beach Renourishment Project is underway. In due time, residents and visitors will reap the benefits of this project. Meanwhile, we want to thank you for your patience through the construction noise and multiple trucks passing through Town. Turn to the following page for further information. As we welcome fall, be sure to register for upcoming Parks and Recreation Fall programs. Visit the Parks and Recreation Department section of the Town website to view the plethora of activities and sign up today! Additionally, two budget hearings will be held this month. Refer to the graphic on page 3 for dates and times. Happy Labor Day! - Guillermo Olmedillo, Town Manager
