श्री रामनाम संिीतधनं ॥ JAYA JAYA AARATI RAAMA

जय जय आरती राम ॥

जय जय आरती राम तुम्हारी िाणनाथ रर्ुनाथ मुरारी Jaya jaya aarati Raama tumhaaree Praananaatha Radhunaatha Muraaree

Victory! Victory! To you, O Rama! We offer the arati light to You; the Lord of life, chief of Raghu’s (race), enemy of the demons. शुिा नारद -मुनन सादर गावे भरत शत्रुघ्न चवर डुिावे Shuka Naarada-muni Saadara gave Bharata Shatrughna cavara dulaave

Shuka and sage Narada sing Your glories with reverence; Bharata and Shatrughna (Your brothers) fan You with the camara. पीतवसना वैजयंतीमािा मेघवरतनु नयन त्रिसािा Peetavasana vaijayanti maalaa Meghavaratanu nayana bisaalaa

You are wearing a yellow robe and a garland; Your body is of the hue of clouds; Your eyes are large. छत्र र्रत है िछुमन भ्राता आरती िरत है िौसल्या माता Chatra dharata hai Lachumana bhraataa Aarati karata hai Kousalyaa maataa


Your brother Lakshmana holds the royal umbrella (over Your head; Your mother Kousalya is doing arati to You. सम्मुख शरण रहे हनु िीरा िार िार गुन गावे ि​िीरा Sammukha sharana rahe Hanu beeraa Kabeeraa

Baara baara guna gave

Hanuman the brave stands before You in great humility; Kabir sings Your glories over and over again.


SRI RAMANAMA SANKIRTANAM

श्री रामनाम संिीतधनं ॥ िणामः श्री नाथे जानिीनाथे अभेदः परमात्मनन तथावप मम सवधस्वं रामः िमि-िोिनः ॐ श्री रामचन्द्द्राय नमः Sri Ramanama Sankirtanam Pranaamah – Prostration Sree naathe Jaanakee-naathe abedah paramaatman Tathaapi mama savasvam Raamah kamala-locanah Om Shree Raamacandraaya namah

As Supreme Being there is no difference between Lord Vishnu and Lore Rama, still Rama of lotus eyes is my everything. Om, I bow down to Sri Raamacandra स्तवः Stavah

Praise वराणाम ्अथधसंघानां रसानां छन्द्दसामवप मंगिानां च िताधरौ, वंदे वाणीववनायिौ

Varaanaam-artha-sanghaanaam, rasaanaam chandasaamapi Mangalaanaam ca kartaarou, vande vaanee-Vinaayakou

I bow down to Vani (Goddess Saraswati) from whom words derive their meanings, and sentiments find expression in appropriate meres; and to Ganesha who ensures the successful completion of all undertakings.


भवानी -शंिरौ वंदे, श्रद्र्ा -ववश्वास -रूवपणौ याभयां वीणा न पश्यजन्द्त, लसद्दाह स्वान्द्तस्तःमीश्वरम ् Bhavaanee-Shankarou vande, shraddhaa-vishvaasa-roopinou yaabhyaam vinaa na pashyanti, siddaah svaantastha-meeshvaram

I bow down to Bhavaani (the Divne Mother) and Shankara (Lord Shiva) who manifest as faith and reliance; and without whose grace none can realize the Divine seated within his heart श्री राघवं दशरथाआत्मजामिमेयं सीतापनतं रघुिुिअन्द्वयरत्नदीपं

I bow down to Sri Raama, the son of Dasharatha, Lord of Seeta, luminous gem of the Raghu lineage, the unparalled, endowed with long arms and eyes like lotus petals, the destroyer of demons. वैदेही सद्रहतं सुरद्रम ु तिे है मे महामण्डपे मध्ये पुष्पि -मासने मणणमये वीरासने समजष्टतम ्

Vaidehee-sahitam suradrumatale, haime mahaa-mandape madhye pushpaka-maasane manimaye, veeraasane samshthitam

Rama is seated in the heroic posture along with Seeta on a gem-studded seat of flowers under the celestial tree, beneath a golden canopy. अग्रे वाचयनत िभंजन सुते, तत्त्वं मुननभयः परं व्याख्यानतम भरतअलभह पररवत ृ ,ं रामम भजे श्यामिाम


Agre vaacayati prabhanjana-sute, tattvam munibhyah param vyaakhyaantam Bharataabhih parivritam, Raamam bhaje Shyaamalam

I adore Rama of blue complexion, by Bharata and others, Hanumaan standing in front reading the sacred texts, which Rama was explaining to all. नान्द्या स्पह ृ ा स्पह ृ ा रघुपते द्रिदयेस्मदॆ ये, सत्यं वदालम च भवान ्अणखिान्द्तरात्मा भजक्तं ियच्छ रर्प ु न्द् ु गव ननभधरां मे िामाद्रद -दोषरद्रहतं िुरु मानसं च

Sharanagata-sura-naayaka-cirakaamita kaama Dharaneetala-tarana Dasha-ratha-nandana Raama

Raama, the son of Dasharatha, is the refuge of the chief of the gods! The ever-desired object of their love; the protector of the earth. वपलशताशन-वननत-वर् जगदानाद राम िुलशिात्मज -मखरक्षण चाररताद्भुत राम Pishitaashana-vanita-vadha jagadaanada Raama Kushikaatmaja-makharakshana caritaadbhuta Raama

Raama killed the man-eater demoness Taataka and made the world joyful; he protected the sacrificial rite of the son of Kushika (Vishvamitra): Raama’s deeds are marvelous.

I bow down with folded hands to Aanjaneya (the son of Anjanaa), who leaped across the ocean easily and removed the fire of grief from Seeta’s mind, and then burnt Lanka with that fire. मनोजवं मारुत-तुल्य-वेगं जजतेजन्द्द्रयं िुद्श्रर्मतां वररष्ठं वातात्मजं वानरयथ ू मुख्यं श्रीरामदत ू ं लशरसा नमालम

Manojavam maaruta-tulya-vegam jitendriyam buddhi-mataam varishtham vaataatmajam vaanara-yootha-mukhyam Shree-Ramadootam shirasaa namaami

I bow down down my head to Hamumaan, son of the wind-god, Raama’s messenger and the leader of monkey troop; he is as fast the wind and as swift as the mind; who having conquered his senses is the most distinguished among the wise. आञ्जनेय-मनत-पाटिाननम ् िन्द्चानाद्रद्र-िमनीय ववग्रहं पाररजात-तरु-मूि

I meditate on Aanjaneya, son of the Wind-god and Anjanaa, whose face is deep red in complexion; his body is shining like a golden mountain; he dwells at the root of the Paarijaata tree. यत्र यत्र रघुनाथ-िीतधनं तत्र तत्र िृतमस्तिाञ्जलिं िाष्पवारी -पररपूणध -िोचनम ् मारुनतं नमत राक्षसान्द्तिम ्


Yatra yatra Raghunaatha-keertanam tatra tatra krita-mastakaanjalim baashpavaari-paripoorna-locanam Maarutim namata raakshasaantakam

I bow down to Maaruti (son of the Wind-god), the destroyer of demons; wherever the glories of Raghunaatha (Raama) are sung, Hanumaan frequents such places with his head bent down, with folded hands, and eyes brimming with tears.

Auspiciousness is unto my Lord Sri Ramachandra, who was always wearing the bow and the arrows, and who was being served with devotion by Lakshmana and Sita. दं डिारण्यवसाया खजण्डतारशत्रवे गध्र ृ राजाय भक्ताय मजु क्तदायास्तु मंगिम


Dandakaaranya-vassaaya khanditaamarashatrave gridhraraajaaya bhaktaaya muktidaayaastu mangalam

Auspiciousness be unto Sri Rama, who lived in the Dandaka forest, who destroyed the rakshasas who werw the enemies of the gods, and who game liberation to Jatayu, the king of birds and a great devotee. सादरं शिरीदत्त-फिमि ु ालभिाषीने

सौिभय-पररपूणाधय सत्त्वोद्रद्रिताय मंगिम Saadaram shabareedatta-phalamoolaabhilaashine Soulabhya-paripoornaaya sattvodriktaaya mangalam

Auspiciousness is unto Sri Rama, who liked very much the fruits given by Shabari with great devotion, who was full of goodness and who was easy to realize by the devotees. हनुमतसमवेताय हररशाभीष्टदानयने वालि-िमथनायास्तु महार्ीराय मंगिम Hanumatsamavetaaya Hareeshaabheeshtadaayine Vaalipramathanaayaastu mahaadheeraaya mangalam

Auspiciousness be unto Sri Rama, who was a great hero and who was joined by Hanuman (as his servant and devotee), who fulfilled the desire of Sugreeva, king of the monkeys, and who killed Vali. श्रीमते रर्ुवीराय सेतुल्िंनघत-लसन्द्र्वे जीतराक्षस-राजाय रणर्ीराय मंगिम Srimate Radhuveeraaya setoollanghita-sindhave jitaraakshasaraajaaya ranadheeraaya mangalam

Auspiciousness is unto Sri Rama, who was full of grace, who was a hero of the race of the Raghus, who crossed the ocean by building a bridge on it, who was skilled in warfare, and who conquered Ravana the king of the rakshasas.


आसाध्य नगरीं द्रदव्यामलभवषक्ताय सीतया राजाश्रर्राज -राजाय रामभद्राय मंगिम Aasaadya nagareem divyaa-mabhishiktaaya Seetayaa raajaadhiraaja-raajaaya Raamabhadraaya mangalam

Auspiciousness is unto Sir Rama, who reached the capital city of Ayodhya, got himself coronated (along with Sita) as the supreme emperors, and who was auspiciousness itself. मंगिा शासनपरै मदाचायध-पुरोगामैः सवैश्च पूववधराचायेह सत्िृतायास्तु मंगिम Mangalaashaasanaparaur-madaacaarya-purogamaih sarvaishca poorvairaacaaryaih satkritaayaastu mangalam

Auspiciousness is unto Sri Rama, who was served and worshipped by all our teachers of the past, and also of the teachers of the present and the future.


RAMASTAKAM

रामाष्टिम ् ॥

भजे ववशेषसुन्द्दरं समस्तपापखण्डनम ्।

स्वभक्तश्रचत्तरञ्जनं सदै व राममद्वयम ्॥१॥ bhajē viśēṣasundaraṃ samastapāpakhaṇḍanam| svabhaktacittarañjanaṃ sadaiva rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who is especially pretty, who cuts off all sins, and who makes the mind, of is devotees happy. जटाि​िापशोलभतं समस्तपापनाशिम ्।

स्वभक्तभीनतभञ्जनं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥२॥ jaṭākalāpaśōbhitaṃ samastapāpanāśakam| svabhaktabhītibhañjanaṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who shines with his matted hair, who destroys all sins, and who makes the mind, of his devotees free from fear. ननजस्वरूपिोर्िं िृपािरं भवापहम ्।

समं लशवं ननरञ्जनं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥३॥ nijasvarūpabōdhakaṃ kṛpākaraṃ bhavāpaham| samaṃ śivaṃ nirañjanaṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who shows us his real self, who is very merciful, who destroys sorrows of life, who considers every one equal, who is peaceful, and who does all that is good.


सहिपञ्चिजल्पतं ह्यनामरूपवास्तवम ्।

ननरािृनतं ननरामयं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥४॥ sahaprapañcakalpitaṃ hyanāmarūpavāstavam| nirākṛtiṃ nirāmayaṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who shows the world in himself, who is the truth without names, who is someone without form, and who is away from sickness and pain. ननष्िपञ्चननववधिल्पननमधिं ननरामयम ्।

श्रचदे िरूपसन्द्ततं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥५॥ niṣprapañcanirvikalpanirmalaṃ nirāmayam| cidēkarūpasantataṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who is away from the world, who does not see differences, who is crystal clear, who does not have diseases, and who stands always as, the real form of truth. भवाजब्र्पोतरूपिं ह्यशेषदे हिजल्पतम ्।

गुणािरं िृपािरं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥६॥ bhavābdhipōtarūpakaṃ hyaśēṣadēhakalpitam| guṇākaraṃ kṛpākaraṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who is the ship to cross the sea of life, who shines as all types of bodies, who is does good, and who shows mercy. महावाक्यिोर्िैववधराजमानवाक्पदै ः। परं ब्रह्मव्यापिं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥७॥


mahāvākyabōdhakairvirājamānavākpadaiḥ| paraṃ brahmavyāpakaṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who is so great that, he is fit to be known though, great Vedic sayings, and which is Brahman, which is spread everywhere. लशविदं सख ु िदं भवजच्छदं भ्रमापहम ्।

ववराजमानदे लशिं भजे ह राममद्वयम ्॥८॥ śivapradaṃ sukhapradaṃ bhavacchidaṃ bhramāpaham| virājamānadēśikaṃ bhajē ha rāmamadvayam

I pray always that Rama, who is second to none, who grants peace, who gives us pleasure, who destroy the problems of life, who avoids illusion, and who is the resplendent Guru रामाष्टिं पठनत यः सुखदं सुपुण्यम ् व्यासेन भावषतलमदं शण ृ ुते मनुष्यः।

ववद्यां श्रश्रयं ववपि ु सौख्यमनन्द्तिीनतधम ् सम्िाप्य दे हवविये िभते च मोक्षम ्॥९॥

rāmāṣṭakaṃ paṭhati yaḥ sukhadaṃ supuṇyam vyāsēna bhāṣitamidaṃ śṛṇutē manuṣyaḥ| vidyāṃ śriyaṃ vipulasaukhyamanantakīrtim samprāpya dēhavilayē labhatē ca mōkṣam

He who reads or hears his octet on Rama, which is easy to understand, which gives rise to good deeds, which is written by sage Vyasa, would get knowledge, wealth, pleasure and limitless fame, and once he leaves his body, he would also get salvation. ॥इनत श्री व्यासववरश्रचतं श्री रामाष्टिं सम्पूणम ध ्॥ ||iti śrī vyāsaviracitaṃ śrī rāmāṣṭakaṃ sampūrṇam||
