The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Community Investment Tax Program offers a 50% state tax rebate on donations of $1,000 or more to Madison Park Development Corporation to encourage increased, sustained support of locally-based neighborhood development efforts. This is a great way to increase the impact of your donation to Madison Park Development Corporation and its program InvestintheRoxburyCommunity. Thinking of giving $2,500? Increase your donation to $5,000 and you will still only pay $2,500 out-ofpocket after your tax rebate, while doubling your impact at MPDC.
There is no catch. Thanks to important advocacy by the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, the Massachusetts state legislature, and the Governor are committed to supporting the work of CDCs throughout the state and have offered this incentive to taxpayers since 2014. CITCProgram–theSmartWaytoGive! WHO CAN BE A CITC DONOR TO MPDC? WHAT IF I DON’T OWE STATE TAXES? If the credit exceeds your state tax liability, the state will refund the full balance of the credit. A CITC donor can be an individual, a nonprofit, a business or a corporation. HOW EASY IS IT TO FILE FOR MY STATE TAX REBATE? Filing for your state income tax rebate is simple, and MPDC staff are here to answer any questions. Once you donate to MPDC, you’ll complete an online form to get the process going. One-time gifts can be made by check or credit card and mailed to our offices at 184 Dudley Street, Roxbury, MA 02119. Monthly donations are CITC eligible if your gift adds up to $1,000 or more by the end of the year. $85 a month or more will earn CITC tax credits. Your donation of $1,500 will work to sustain affordable access to the arts at Hibernian Hall, a vibrant venue that anchors the Roxbury cultural community and supports dozens of local artists, technicians, writers and others annually. And you receive a $750 state tax rebate. Your contribution of $1,000 will ensure that over 600 pounds of fresh, healthy food is grown and available to our neighbors this year, including our youngest gardeners in the Kids' Garden Club! You’ll earn a $500 state tax rebate. Your gift of $5,000 will support the Dewitt Center, MPDC’s innovative community center, offering multigenerational education, enrichment and wellness programs; space for events; resources like food pantries that in 2021 provided over 50,000 lbs of food; and even serves as a Boston voting location.
