UAP PASIG CHAPTER EXTENDS RELIEF TO BRGY. SANTOLAN EVACUEES
The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Pasig Chapter, headed by Chapter President Ar. Ariel Daguman, together with the UAP Pasig Board and UAP Commission on Governmental and External Affairs (CGEA) Executive Director Past Chapter President Ar. Mary Rolyn Ara Angeles, successfully conducted a relief distribution activity for the evacuees of Barangay Santolan in Pasig City. UAP Pasig Chapter is under District A5, under the leadership of District Director Past Chapter President Ar. Aileen De la Vega. In coordination with Barangay Captain Gab Bayan, the initiative provided essential relief goods to 200 beneficiaries affected by recent flooding. Barangay Santolan, being a known catch basin area, is among the most severely impacted communities in the city during heavy rains and typhoons.
The relief operation was made possible through the collective generosity of UAP Pasig Chapter members, who voluntarily raised the necessary funds to support the affected families. This outreach initiative embodies the spirit of bayanihan and echoes the UAP National President Ar. Joey Manalad’s theme, "Movers of Progress" championing meaningful service, responsive action, and compassionate leadership within the profession and the broader community.

A HISTORIC MILESTONE
FOR UAP PASIG CITY
We are proud to announce that Pasig City now has its own Architectural Permit a significant advancement in promoting architectural excellence, streamlining regulatory processes, and ensuring the integrity of the city’s built environment. This achievement underscores the importance of Republic Act 9266 (The Architecture Act of 2004) in affirming the role of duly registered and licensed architects as the primary professionals in building design and construction. The establishment of the Pasig Architectural Permit reinforces this legislation by ensuring that architectural plans are developed and executed by qualified professionals who prioritize safety, functionality, and aesthetics in urban development.
This milestone was made possible through the collaboration and dedication of key individuals and organizations:
Hon. City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis "Vico" Sotto, for his visionary leadership and commitment to progressive urban development.
Engr. Francis Jerome P. Ronquillo, OIC of the Office of the Building Official, for his steadfast dedication to upholding architectural standards and regulatory excellence.
Ar. Joey Manalad, UAP Area A Vice President, for his initiative and leadership in facilitating key discussions with city officials. His efforts in securing a formal appointment and a courtesy call with the City Mayor were instrumental in advancing this initiative.
Ar. Mary Rolyn Ara Torrecampo-Angeles, Co-Chairperson of
PAFNAM, for her proactive leadership and unwavering commitment in championing this endeavor. Her dedication in coordinating strategic engagements with city officials was essential in bringing this initiative to fruition.
The Chapter Board of Officers of UAP Pasig and UAP Pasig Kapitolyo, led by Ar. Mark John Nino Villaruz and Ar. Kenneth Trinidad, for their continued advocacy in strengthening the architectural profession within Pasig City.
This achievement is not just a victory for Pasig City but a milestone for the entire architectural community. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all architects nationwide, especially our fellow Arkitektong Pasigueños, for their relentless dedication to upholding the highest standards of architecture and ensuring that our cities are built with integrity, innovation, and excellence.
This milestone is more than a procedural development it is a testament to the essential role of architects in shaping Pasig City’s future. May this serve as a model for other cities in upholding RA 9266 and ensuring that architectural integrity remains at the core of urban development.

Manalad. Mayor Vico praised the UAP for their commitment to adhering to this important legal ruling and maintaining professional standards. This engagement highlights the Pasig City Local Government's dedication to partnering with the architectural community to ensure professional standards and promote the growth of the profession.

With the help and support of her Board and the mentorship of her District Directors, her term as Chapter President culminated in Pasig’s receipt of its first Model Chapter Award. She served as Co-Chair and Adviser to the interim term of the UAP Graduate Auxiliary (UAPGA), and was previously appointed member of the UAP Membership and By-Laws Committees, and in the NAW39 Committee. Her corporate experience saw her rose to senior management level at New San Jose Builders, Inc. and at Generations Design Asia, project managers for the INC Centennial Projects that included the Philippine Arena, Sports Center, EVM Convention Center, etc. before moving on to becoming the Executive Director of Construction Projects for a FilDutch company. She is currently in active professional practice and is eager to serve the organization as the fiscal year’s District Director.
This year’s district-wide theme, “THE POWER OF WE: UNITY. RESILIENCE. PROGRESS.” reflects our shared commitment to collaboration, adaptability, and continuous growth. At a time when collective action matters, we aim to strengthen partnerships among our chapters, encourage purposeful leadership, and remain steadfast in our role as advocates for sustainable and inclusive communities. The UAP Regional District A5
“There is strength in unity…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” believes that true progress comes not from individual effort alone, but from a united and resilient professional community working toward a common vision.
On August 8, we shall hold this year’s District Culmination, Turnover and Joint Induction of Officers that will be held at the Isla Ballroom of the Edsa Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City. The event is set to bring 300 architects in our District.
