TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES WITH YOU

GOAL: $10 MILLION

New Yorkers find affordable, life-changing primary and preventive care increasingly beyond their reach. Excellent health care should not be a privilege for a few, but a right for all.

Sun River Health has been a beacon of hope and healing for half a century, providing high-quality health care to all, regardless of background or circumstance. As we approach our 50th anniversary, we will launch a campaign to secure $10 million, ensuring Sun River Health’s vision of well-being for all patients. This vision will lead to better health outcomes and more efficient use of health care resources. This campaign aims to address the unique health care challenges faced by members of our community.

CHILDREN, WOMEN, SENIORS, AGRICULTURAL WORKERS

Sun River Health provides these community members with essential, comprehensive care. We address the root causes of health issues and ensure that everyone receives the quality care they deserve.

Sun River Health Needs You: Join us in celebrating 50 years of transforming lives and communities. Your support will help us continue making a difference for generations to come.

Children who receive regular wellchild visits are less likely to develop serious health issues later in life.

CHILDREN’S HEALTH

Many children from low-income families face significant health inequities, often due to a lack of access to primary and preventive care. These disparities underscore the urgent need for comprehensive pediatric services that address both preventive and immediate health concerns.

The Sun River Health Solution: Sun River Health provides vital services to over 35,000 children each year. Our compassionate teams of experts ensure that all our pediatric patients receive comprehensive care, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. From birth to age 18, we meet the health care needs of children and teenagers, including mental health services, routine immunizations, school physicals, wellness checkups, early vision and hearing screenings, and patient education.

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Providing comprehensive health services to women at every stage of life— from adolescence through menopause and beyond— has transformative impacts on families, communities, and future generations. Yet, access to quality care remains uneven, with persistent disparities in outcomes driven by socioeconomic barriers, geographic location, and systemic inequities. By expanding access and delivering culturally competent, patient-centered care, we can help close these gaps and ensure that all women can access the care they need.

The Sun River Health Solution: Sun River Health is dedicated to bridging this gap in care and breaking down barriers for women. Our skilled team of OB/GYN clinicians, midwives, and family physicians provides expert prenatal, postpartum, and general women’s health

care. Our services include pelvic exams, Pap smears, STI testing and treatment, family planning, and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) services. We also offer mental health support, nutrition counseling, and social supports, emphasizing a holistic approach to care.

At Sun River Health, we welcome more than 4,000 newborns each year— demonstrating our deep commitment to supporting healthy beginnings and nurturing the next generation. We also provide care to nearly 100,000 women across the region, including those experiencing homelessness, living in public housing, or facing other barriers to accessing health care.

Every dollar invested in prenatal care saves significant costs associated with preterm births and lowbirth-weight infants.

GOAL: $3 MILLION

SENIOR HEALTH

Seniors, especially those with low incomes, often face major barriers to accessing routine, high-quality health care. Many lack the financial resources, transportation, or support systems needed to manage their health effectively. In addition, social isolation can further impact their well-being, making it even more difficult to maintain regular care and stay healthy.

The Sun River Health Solution: Senior care at Sun River Health bridges these gaps by providing comprehensive, coordinated care that enhances the quality of life for elderly individuals. Our program ensures that participants receive regular health screenings, vaccinations, and personalized care plans, including plans for medication management, rehabilitation, and social supports.

According to the National Council on Aging, approximately 80% of older adults have at least one chronic disease and 77% have at least two.

AGRICULTURAL WORKERS

Agricultural workers are vital to our food supply, yet they often face significant barriers to accessing health care. Many are uninsured or underinsured, which leaves their basic health needs untreated. In the Hudson Valley and on Long Island, we serve over 10,000 agricultural workers and their families who frequently suffer from poor nutrition, asthma, and musculoskeletal issues.

The Sun River Health Solution: We provide agricultural workers with primary and preventive care, dental, vision, mental health services, and so much more. We also teach them about nutrition and wellness, helping them take control of their health. Support services, including transportation assistance and health care system navigation, further reduce barriers to accessing care.

GOAL: $2 MILLION
