When we talk about a Landmark Breakthrough, we are talking of a Miracle - The first of its kind; the kind of Miracle that had never happened before.
made me laugh and everybody who hears about it will laugh with me.
May I decree to somebody: the breakthrough that is coming your way will cause you to laughAmen.
EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO HAD LANDMARK BREAKTHROUGHS
1. ABRAHAM AND SARAH
In Genesis 18:1-14 Abraham and Sarah had a Landmark Miracle. A 90 year old woman became pregnant - nobody had ever heard that kind of thing before. Just imagine a 90 year old woman becoming pregnant, that’s a miracle on its own. Then, at that age she was able to carry the pregnancy to term, that’s a bigger miracle still. Then she was able to go through childbirth, and didn’t die from the pain, that’s the biggest miracle of all.
But do you know what Sarah said in Genesis 21? She said: God has
2. MOSES
When we talk about Landmark Miracles, we have another example in Exodus 14:21-28:
- When a man lifted his hand, the Red Sea opened.
- When all of a sudden there was a way where there was no way before.
That is a Landmark Miracle!
And there is someone reading this, God is about to make a way for you where there was no way before - Amen.
In 1981 when I became General
Overseer, I went to visit my Village. The whole Villagers gathered together to welcome me and then they made a request - They thought that now I am General Overseer, I would know people. At that time nobody knew me and I knew nobody, except God.
Because there was no road to link my village to Ile Ife; whenever we wanted to go to Ile Ife, we’ll first of all go to Ilesha, 20 kilometers and then go to Ile Ife, 32 kilometers. We were travelling 52 kilometers instead of 8 kilometers.
When I came to town they said: Sir, will you use your good office so that there’ll be a road between Ile Ife and Ifewara?
The Spirit of God spoke to me, “Ask them which direction they want the road.”
They Pointed to the direction and I lifted my hand and said, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, “Let there be a Road”.
I knew nobody, nobody knew me, but 6 months later, the Federal Government decided to construct a road linking Ifewara to Ile Ife.
I am lifting my hand to all of you, including those reading now in Sunrise magazine, from this moment onward, where there was no way before, there will be a WayAmen.
3. ELIJAH
In 1 Kings 18:1-39, a man prayed and fire fell from Heaven, iIt had not happened before. It was a Landmark Miracle - A man’s prayer was answered by fire.
In the 1980s, I went to Akure. There was one of my children who had a big Factory on the Outskirts of Akure (Ondo State Nigeria). He discovered that people were not coming to buy from the factory. The reason was that there was a well-known herbalist who had a shrine under an Iroko tree and people were coming to him for charms. People stopped coming there, because they didn’t want to be kidnapped and killed. My son took me to his factory and when we got to the factory, he pointed at the shrine, and said, “That is the Source of my Problem.” I said, No Problem! I prayed a simple prayer. You see, darkness must give way to light. A few days later, a little rain fell, and a thunderbolt came down from Heaven, struck the Iroko tree, split it to pieces, and destroyed the shrine!
I am lifting my hand towards you today, and I decree: all your prayers will be answered by fire - Amen.
4. THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL
In Joshua 6:20, the Bible recorded that the Children of Israel gave a big shout, and the wall of Jericho came down flat. Before that day, there was no record that people shouted and a wall fell - Hallelujah!!!! It was a Landmark Miracle.
Let me decree, that every wall of Jericho that is blocking your way will come down today - Amen.
Now, go ahead and shout - Hallelujah!!!!!
5. JOSHUA
In Joshua 10:12-14, the Bible says, Joshua lifted up his hands and commanded in the Name of the LORD; and told the Sun to stand still and the moon to remain where it was, until he has finished God’s business. The Bible says, the sun stood still and the moon remained where it was.
The Bible says there had not been a day like that before and there has never been a day like that after. But today, there is about to be a day - Amen? Because all of us are going to stand up.
We are going to lift our hands to the Almighty God and decree: In the Name of Jesus, the sun will not set today until God has solved all my problems - Amen.
Go ahead, Pray that Prayer!
I can go on and on and tell you several Landmark Miracles.
- I can talk to you about how Joseph was transferred from prison to the throne in less than one day.
- I can tell you about how Jehoshaphat’s enemies gathered against him. And within a short period of time, all the wealth of these Kings became transferred to Jehoshaphat.
I can go on and on and on! But you see, you have a part to play.
HE WANTS LANDMARK SURRENDER.
In Luke 5:1-11, when you look at the story very closely, you will be amazed at several things there:
- There were 2 boats but Jesus chose one that belonged to Peter.
Let me say this today: “Self-first is not Selfishness.”
Declare: if God is going to bless 2 people reading this today, I will be the first oneAmen!
There were 2 boats, but He choose one. God is a Sovereign God - He knows what He is doing. He knows fully well that this fellow called peter is going to fall completely in love with Him.
When He choose his boat he told him, “push the boat into the deep, I want to preach.” Peter agreed! - He surrendered his boat to Jesus.
Practically, he surrendered his business to Jesus Christ. When the miracle happened after he had obeyed Jesus Christ; the Bible said that he forsook all and followed Jesus Christ.
He was willing, even to surrender his career to Jesus Christ.
The kind of surrender that God is asking from you this Year (2025) is Landmark Surrender.
He is not expecting you to keep on arguing with Him - He expects you to do whatever He asks you to do:
- Pay your Tithes: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Give me your First Fruit: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Fast: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Pray: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Win Souls: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Follow them Up: Yes Lord! No argument.
- Build Churches: Yes Lord! No argument.
He wants Landmark Surrender! If you give God Landmark Surrender, He will give you Landmark Breakthroughs.
The choice is yours - our Covenant is there, strong as ever!
If you have not yet surrendered your Life to Jesus Christ, do so now! The Almighty God is waiting for you. He is waiting to save your soul. Cry to Jesus now: Ask Him to have Mercy on you, ask Him to please,
save your soul.
SPECIAL PRAYER:
The Word of God says is that you should ask till your Joy be full and I’m believing God for you that your Joy will be full today - Amen.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus! In the lives of all these Your Children, my Father and my God, I Command that where there has been no Way before, let there be a Way!
A New Way to Success
A New Way to Victory.
A New Way to Joy.
A New Way to Fruitfulness.
A New Way to Promotion.
A New Way to Miracles.
A New Way to Signs.
A New Way to Wonders.
Let there be a Way Now!
My Father and my God, You are the Consuming Fire:
Every Altar that the enemy has raised against Your children in any direction whatsoever; right now, let Your fire consume!
Every evil altar raised against Your children from their father’s house, let the fire consume.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name I have PrayedAmen.

THE GOD OF LANDMARK BREAKTHROUGHS
• PASTOR LEKE SANUSI
In the journey of life, we often encounter obstacles that seem insurmountable, mountains that refuse to move, and doors that appear permanently shut. Yet, throughout the Bible, we see a God who specializes in breaking barriers, setting new records, and establishing unprecedented testimonies in the lives of His people. He is the God of landmark breakthroughs, the One who makes a way where there
seems to be no way.
Understanding Landmark Breakthroughs
A landmark breakthrough is a divine intervention that marks a turning point in a person’s life, ministry, or destiny. It is an event orchestrated by God that establishes a new order, changes the status quo, and brings about significant transformation.
These breakthroughs often defy human logic and natural laws, serving as undeniable proofs of God’s power and sovereignty.
Biblical Examples of Landmark Breakthroughs
1. The Parting of the Red Sea.
Exodus 14:21-22 ‘’And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left’’
One of the most astonishing miracles in the Bible is the parting of the Red Sea. When the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the sea, God demonstrated His power by making a way through the waters. This was a landmark breakthrough, not just because it saved them from destruction but because it established their freedom from Egyptian bondage. It proved to them and the world that God is able to make a way where there is none. In this year of Landmarks therefore, I prophesy that God will make a way for you where there seems to be no way in the name of Jesus.
2. The Fall of Jericho Walls.
Joshua 6:20 ‘’So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city’’
The city of Jericho was heavily fortified, and its walls were impenetrable. However, through divine strategy, God caused the walls to collapse after the Israelites obeyed His instructions. This miraculous victory signified a major breakthrough, giving Israel access to the Promised Land. It teaches us that obedience to divine instruction is a key to experiencing landmark breakthroughs. I pray that this year, as you obey God’s instruction, no matter how ridiculous it may seem, you will experience the miraculous in the name of Jesus.
3. David’s Victory Over Goliath.
1 Samuel 17:45-50 ‘’Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts,
the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord save not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David’’
David’s triumph over Goliath was not just a personal victory; it was a national breakthrough. Israel had been paralyzed by fear until God used a young shepherd boy to change the narrative. With just a sling and a stone, David achieved what seasoned warriors could not. This breakthrough established him as a leader and demonstrated that victory belongs to those who trust in God. In this year of Landmarks, as your put you absolute trust in God, He will fight your battles and give you the victory in the name of Jesus.
4. The Resurrection of Lazarus.
John 11:43-44 ‘’And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go’’
Lazarus had been dead for four days, and all hope seemed lost. But Jesus called him forth, demonstrating His power over death. This miracle was a landmark breakthrough because it revealed Jesus as the resurrection and the life, proving that nothing is impossible with God. Is any good thing dead in your life, you are a sure candidate for landmark breakthrough and you will testify of the resurrection power of the Most High God in the name of Jesus.
5. The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:1-4 ‘’And when the day of Pentecost
was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance’’
The Day of Pentecost marked the beginning of a new era for believers. The Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, empowering them to preach the gospel with boldness and signs following. This was a major breakthrough for the early church, leading to rapid growth and expansion. It reminds us that spiritual breakthroughs are just as vital as physical ones. In our days, I prophesy that there will be another outpouring of the powerful spirit of God like the day of Pentecost and we shall record another landmark revival testimony in the name of Jesus.
Keys to Experiencing Landmark Breakthroughs
1. Faith in God’s Ability (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith is the currency of the kingdom. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Those who desire landmark breakthroughs must believe that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
2. Prayer and Fasting (Matthew 17:21)
Some breakthroughs require dedicated prayer and fasting. Jesus taught that certain obstacles can only be removed through intensified spiritual warfare. Those who seek landmark breakthroughs must be willing to engage in persistent and fervent prayers.
3. Obedience to Divine Instructions (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
Obedience is a catalyst for breakthrough. The Israelites experienced victory at Jericho because they obeyed God’s unusual instructions. Similarly, Naaman was healed of leprosy when he obeyed the command to dip in the Jordan seven times (2 Kings 5:14).
4. Sacrificial Giving (Luke 6:38)
Many times, landmark breakthroughs are preceded by sacrificial giving. The widow of Zarephath gave her last meal to the prophet Elijah, and God provided for her supernaturally (1 Kings 17:12-16). Giving unlocks divine provision and abundance.
5. Speaking the Word of God (Proverbs 18:21)
Words carry power. Those who desire breakthroughs must declare God’s promises over their situations. Ezekiel prophesied to dry bones, and they came back to life (Ezekiel 37:410). Speaking life into dead situations activates divine intervention.
God is Still in the Business of Breakthroughs
The Lord of host has not changed. He is still performing miracles and giving His children landmark breakthroughs today. Whether in career, ministry, health, finances, or family, those who put their trust in Him can experience undeniable victories.
Many believers today have testimonies of how God turned their lives around dramatically. From barren women becoming joyful mothers (1 Samuel 1:20) to financial turnarounds, divine healing, and miraculous deliverances, God is still showing Himself strong on behalf of His people.
If you are waiting for a breakthrough, be encouraged. God is faithful. Keep trusting, praying, obeying, and believing, for in due time, He will manifest His power in your life. Your testimony will be a reference point for generations to come.
Conclusion
The God of landmark breakthroughs is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He delights in doing the impossible and making His power known to all. As we align ourselves with His will, exercise faith, and follow His divine principles, we will witness breakthroughs that will not only change our lives but will also glorify His name.
May you experience your own landmark breakthrough this year in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Editorial Notes
“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”
(Isaiah 43:19)
Regular readers of Sunrise may know that Spring is my favourite season. I do love Summer of course, but spring brings with it messages of hope. Spring breaks through the colder darkness of winter and bursts on to the scene. Have you ever noticed that it seems to come all of a sudden? It springs forth! One day it is the same dark mornings and dark evenings, the trees are bare and then it seems like just the next day the sky is blue, the birds are singing, and the flowers are in bloom.
Isaiah 43:19 describes the new thing that God is doing as springing forth To spring forth according to the dictionary is to suddenly appear, emerge, or become visible, often in a way that’s unexpected or lively. The statement, ‘shall you not know it’ seems to suggest that it is almost unbelievable.
When someone is in a negative situation, it is hard for them to envision an end to the trouble. To think of a day when a barrenness is broken and there is now a way where there seemed to be no way is hard to picture amid the trouble. Yet that is the promise for every believer. Isaiah 58:8 says, “Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard”.
Psalm 30:5b says, “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning”. God turns things around in an instant, your situation today does not need to be your situation tomorrow.
This edition’s theme is ‘Landmark’ as our General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye has declared 2025 as a year of Landmark Miracles. Landmark is defined in the dictionary as an event or discovery marking an important stage or turning point in something. Your life is about to experience a turnaround! The new thing that God is doing in your life is springing forth! Let this season of early spring be a visual reminder concerning what God is doing in you and for you.
As always, this edition of Sunrise has articles to encourage and strengthen you in various areas of your life. Be blessed as you read and always remember that this is YOUR magazine. If you have contributions for the next edition, please get in touch!

DO or DIE
Skip reading this if none of the following applies to you or if it will never apply to you. Thank you.
Have you ever found yourself in any of the following situations?
A dilemma, a dire situation, a dungeon, a dark place or in a deep ditch?
Were you pushed in, pulled into it or did you walk in unknowingly or knowingly?
If you haven’t, let it be known that you soon will experience it for its part of the traffic light of life’s journey.
What would you do if you ever found yourself in a ditch?
• Doubt if there was a way out
• Die in there
• Desperately cry out until someone hopefully responds.
• Deliberately decide to get out of it by TRUSTING GOD for HELP
In 2 Kings7:3-8
These four lepers were friends but were in an appalling situation. It looked hopeless but they decided to be hopeful. They had been written off, but they decided to write themselves in. No hand was going to pull them up but with their withered hands they pulled themselves together. Their past was history, their present was dark, and their future was even darker. They decided to see a bright light and they approached it with faith.
SELF REFLECTION
They questioned and asked each other, “Why stay here until we die?
If we say, ‘we’ll go to the city’, the famine is there, and we will die and if we stay here, we will die. So, let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender and if they kill us, then we die.” 2 Kings 7: 3-4
The ditch they were in was deep and no one was going to help them out of it. They knew that they would have to do something positive or DIE in it pitifully.
In life you will either be driven by desperation or by inspiration. No one can escape or avoid the storms of life for it is part of growing up. It brings about maturity and the way it is handled will determine whether we will emerge as a wimp or a winner, a victim or a victor.
SELF DETERMINATION
Thankfully, these friends stood in unity, they had the same mind set and they faced their fears together. Ultimately, they turned their ‘ditch situation’ which was a stumbling block into a stepping stone. Indeed, desperation can lead to a deliberate decision to do something.
SELF ACTUALISATION
They knew that “IF IT WAS TO BE, IT WILL BE UP TO THEM”
Their attitude and fortitude were synchronised and God came through for them, they were ready to either “do or die”
They wanted a better life and took full responsibility for it. They knew their capacity, and they took the risk believing that what is worth living for is worth dying for.
SELF APPLICATION
You will be celebrated for the visible actions you take and not the invisible intentions that perpetually reside on your mind. So please apply the principles in this story to every facet of life eg your educational life, your spiritual life, your business, your deteriorating finances, your marriage, ministry, damaged relationships, your health etc.
LESSONS TO LEARN FROM THE LEPERS
1. When they STEPPED UP God made a way for them by frightening their enemies. He caused the Arameans to flee from their place of residence so that the lepers could dominate. This is to remind us that all God wants from us is to take the step of faith. We should allow our faith to be bigger than our fear. Declare to your mountains how great your God is and stop wailing and weeping to God about how great the problem is.
2. When the lepers STEPPED OUT of their comfort zone, they stepped into their basic needs in abundance. Dehydration and starvation suddenly became non-existent for they ate and drank to their heart’s satisfaction. They didn’t allow the fear of the unknown
to hinder them. So please don’t dance around your setbacks. You must decide to dutifully dance on them, having a practical, positive, proactive and powerful approach to see the SET BACKS AS A SET UP FOR A COME BACK.
3. When their wants and needs were fulfilled, they STEPPED AROUND the camp of the Arameans and discovered that they could be a blessing to other people in need. They became selfless and decided to share the good news. Do you know that millions are waiting for you to get out of that ditch so that they can be rescued by you. Their destiny is linked to yours so the longer you stay in the pit, the longer they will too. What a burden of guilt to bear!!
ACTION POINTS
Prayerfully read the short story about the four determined lepers and apply the lessons to your life.
• Decide now
• Defer procrastination
• Dump your fears
• Do it yourself
Can I hear you say “I have done it”?
Congratulations, be a success story, be a real blessing and be a destiny helper.

A Landmark IMPACT
(Princess Bright Shines Brightly at 29, as the youngest Mayor in London Borough)
History was made as Princess Opeyemi Bright was confirmed as the Civic Mayor of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, United Kingdom, for the municipal year 2025-2026. At just 29 years old, Princess Bright continues a proud legacy of public service, following in the footsteps of her mother, Dr Councilor Afolasade Bright, who served as the Civic Mayor of Hackney (2006-2007), and her father, Pastor Gbolahan Bright MBE, a senior pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Her official inauguration will take place in May 2025 in London, UK, marking the beginning of her term as the borough’s first citizen. As a British Nigerian, Princess Bright’s appointment is a significant milestone, symbolising youth empowerment, leadership, and dedication to the community.
Councilor Princess Opeyemi Bright is a Chartered Accountant, a dedicated public servant, and a leader in local government. In March 2025, she was confirmed as the next Civic Mayor and first citizen of London’s borough of Barking and Dagenham. She made history as the youngest person to hold the role in the borough, with her formal inauguration to take place in May 2025.
A young British Nigerian Councilor, Bright graduated with a first-class honours degree in Accounting and Financial Management. She is a Member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), having
qualified and was admitted in 2021. She began her career in investment banking after graduating from university. She transitioned into the technology sector, where she worked as a Senior Strategy and Operations Manager for a major tech company in the UK.
Sunrise Magazine engaged her on a journey to her uprising to this noble course. Please join us!
SUNRISE: First of all, congratulations on your recent appointment. How are you feeling about stepping into this new role?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: Thank you so much. I feel truly honoured and humbled to be confirmed as the next Mayor of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This role is not just a personal achievement but a testament to God’s grace and purpose in my life. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to my parents, Dr. Councilor Afolasade Bright and Pastor Gbolahan Bright MBE, for their guidance, prayers and support. Their dedication to service, faith and leadership has shaped me into the person I am today.
Stepping into this new chapter, I am filled with gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility to serve in public office and in the marketplace with integrity, diligence and faith. I recognise that this journey is bigger than me. It is about making a difference, inspiring others and leaving a legacy of service and impact.
SUNRISE: Could you share a bit about what this new role entails and what your key responsibilities will be?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: As the incoming Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, I will be the first citizen of the borough. My role goes beyond ceremonial duties and plays a critical part in driving strategic alignment within the community. While I will represent the borough at key events and support various initiatives, my focus will be on policy development, fostering community engagement, and influencing both national and international conversations that directly impact my residents.
One of my key responsibilities will be ensuring that the borough’s policies align with its long-term vision for growth, inclusivity, and prosperity. I will work to champion a culture of civic pride, bringing together the public, private, and voluntary sectors to drive social impact. Through this, I aim to strengthen relationships, amplify community voices, and encourage greater participation in civic life.
A central component of my role will be to bridge the local community with global networks, ensuring that Barking and Dagenham is well-positioned as a leader in diversity and cultural exchange. Given my heritage as a British Nigerian, I will use my position to influence diplomatic and economic ties, particularly with countries that represent the diverse backgrounds of my residents, including Nigeria. By fostering these international relationships, I hope to promote cultural exchange, stimulate local investment, and raise the profile of the borough on the world stage.
SUNRISE: Can you share with us what inspired you to undertake this political journey at a young age?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: My journey into politics was shaped by both experience and divine purpose. From a young age, I had the privilege of watching my mother, Dr Councilor Afolasade Bright, lead with dedication and excellence. She served as the Mayor of Hackney from 2006 to 2007, and witnessing her commitment to public service and the impact she made in people’s lives was truly inspiring. Her leadership, resilience and ability to
create meaningful change instilled in me a deep understanding of what it means to serve. Following in her footsteps, I knew that leadership was not just about holding a position but about using my voice and influence to make a difference.
Alongside my mother’s example, my father, Pastor Gbolahan Bright MBE, has been an incredible source of support, encouragement and prayer. Both of my parents have always been there for me, guiding me through life’s challenges and instilling strong values of service, faith and perseverance. Their presence has shaped my journey, giving me the confidence to step into leadership knowing that I am supported and equipped to succeed.
Leadership has always been a part of me. I have held various leadership positions from a young age, including Head Girl, School Council Lead, Course Representative at university and Young Leader of Havering Council in 2013 (Princess Bright elected as Havering’s new Young Leader | Romford Recorder). These experiences helped me develop the skills, confidence and mindset needed for public service. Seeing my mother achieve so much in leadership made me realise that I, too, could make an impact and that age should never be a barrier to stepping into purpose.
Above all, I see this journey as fulfilling God’s purpose for my life. I believe that true leadership is a calling, and as Christians, we are placed in positions of influence to serve, uplift and bring light to the world. In Matthew 5:14, the Bible tells us, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” This scripture has guided me, reminding me that leadership is not about status but about service, responsibility and being a vessel for positive change.
SUNRISE: With any new appointment, there are bound to be challenges. What were your challenges and how did you overcome them?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: Absolutely. One of the biggest challenges I faced was stepping into leadership at such a young age. Being a 21-yearold, Black, female candidate came with its own set of obstacles. When I was first campaigning to
become a councilor, many residents dismissed me before I even had the chance to speak. Some slammed their doors on me, refused to take me seriously or outrightly told me they would not vote for me because they did not believe someone like me could lead.
It would have been easy to let those moments discourage me, but I knew I had a purpose. I refused to allow doubt, prejudice, or rejection to define my journey. Instead, I persevered, knowing that leadership is not about how people perceive you but about the impact you are called to make. Over time, through hard work, resilience, and consistently showing up for my community, I was able to earn respect and prove that young people, women, and people of colour have just as much right to serve as anyone else.
Another challenge has been balancing multiple responsibilities public service, professional life, social life, and my commitment to Church (choir practice and supporting the youth ministry). It is not always easy, but I have learned to navigate these challenges through prayer, discipline, and surrounding myself with mentors who pour wisdom into my life.
One person who has been a great source of encouragement is my spiritual father, Pastor Tunde Feyibunmi (Parish Pastor, RCCG Glory Tabernacle). There were times when I questioned whether I was truly capable of leading, and he consistently reminded me of God’s word and the importance of staying the course. He often encouraged me with Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That scripture has been my anchor, reminding me that my strength comes not from my own abilities but from God’s grace.
I must also give honour to whom honour is due. The prophetic declaration from our General Overseer RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, played a significant role in making this vision a reality. He declared that 2025 is our Landmark Year, and I tapped into that word by faith. Seeing how everything has unfolded, I can truly say that God’s word never fails.
In addition, as a family, we prioritise prayer and family time, which have contributed significantly to my strength and ability to remain positive. These challenges have only strengthened my resolve and deepened my commitment to serving with purpose. I now use my experiences to inspire other
young people, especially women and those from underrepresented backgrounds, to step forward and take up leadership roles with confidence.
SUNRISE: We believe that your parents must have played a very vital role in this unique journey of yours. Could you talk us through this?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: My parents have been my greatest inspiration and support system. My mother, Dr Councilor Afolasade Bright, has shown me the power of resilience, community service, and dedication. Watching her serve in politics with integrity has shaped my own approach to leadership.
My father, Pastor Gbolahan Bright MBE, has been a pillar of wisdom and spiritual guidance. His life’s work in education and ministry has taught me that true leadership is about service and impact. He always reminds me to put God first in all things, and that principle has guided my journey.
I am blessed to have been raised in a home where faith, service, and excellence are not just spoken about but lived out daily. Their influence continues to shape me, and I am grateful to God for placing them in my life.
SUNRISE: What would be your advice to young people aspiring to serve in public offices?
Princess Opeyemi Bright: My advice to young people is simple: step out in faith and be the change you wish to see. Do not let age, background, or fear hold you back. If God has placed a vision in your heart, He will equip you to fulfil it.
Seek wisdom, stay rooted in your values, and always remember that leadership is about service, not position. Surround yourself with mentors, stay disciplined, and never stop learning. Most importantly, keep God at the centre of your journey.
As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
To every young person reading this, know that you are called to be a light in your community. Rise up, step forward, and let God use you for His glory!

MATTERS OF THE HEART
Dear Andrea
Dear Andrea,
When my husband and I talk about an issue, we always end up in a fight. What are we doing wrong? Why can’t we just talk over issues?
Thank you for the question.
It would be best to look at how you are approaching the discussion.
Do you have a purpose for the conversation or what you want to achieve from the discussion before you start? At times we can be absorbed with pouring out our thoughts and feelings concerning the other person’s position on an issue or their actions rather than using a dispute to work out solutions and solve problems. If you talk the other person into exhaustion so that they will just agree with you then nothing has been solved and the conflict will repeat.
It is important to reach a consensus, this is more than agreement or compromise, it is a shared faith in a choice, decision or action that you will both take.
How can you approach the conversation differently now that you have a goal in mind?
Start by changing the mood
Changing the other person’s mood and enabling them to see your point of view can be as simple as attentiveness - making them feel valued and reassuring that you are here for a winwin scenario. Or it could involve storytelling, give an example or illustration that can even be fictious that will draw your spouse in and change the mood. This requires self-control on your part not to get sucked in to the mood of the other person.
Try introducing more options
Rather than just should we do what I want or do what you want, could you suggest a few other options to ease the pressure?
Your spouse may like that you approach the conversation with suggested options and a well thought out plan, don’t just talk off the top of your end without any future planning.
Explain your part in making it better
Suggest what you will do to make an option work. For example, there is no need suggesting that you take a particular job if it is going to mean longer hours and childcare issues unless you have already got some ideas about how it will work. Taking another job or promotion might make sense for the family finances but what about all the other details? You need to consider this before approaching the conversation.
Sort out what the core issue is
Why are we arguing about who cleans the house? Is it just to be practical or is there a deeper issue, perhaps one person feels used or devalued?
Change the tense
If a discussion is spiralling out of control, try switching the tense of the conversation. Blame is usually past tense where someone wants justice for a past offense. Present tense is describing the current problem. At some point we need to look forward and make choices about the future. The past and present can help you make a point in the discussion but for any decisions to be made or for the discussion not to become a fight, it has to turn to the future.
Develop
Trust
We can’t talk about communication without talking about trust. If I am to listen to your point of view, be influenced and persuaded by your proposal then I need to trust that you make good judgements and have well thought out plans. This is built up over time. Everyone makes mistakes but if we are careless in decision making then of course it will be difficult to build trust. We believe and have faith that God says He will do what He said He will do not just because He says He will but because He has demonstrated this.
You will have to demonstrate genuine love and care for the other person. They are more likely not to listen if they believe that you just want to be selfish or irresponsible. What is your ethos, what do you stand for and communicate these values rather than your personal agenda.
You need wisdom and adaptability
Use good illustrations, stay on topic to avoid the other person becoming bored and know about what you are talking about. You also need adaptability - the skill of knowing what to do under varying circumstances.
You need sympathy and empathy to understand the emotions of your spouse
Emotion comes from experience and expectation. What the person believes has happened or will happen in the future. Neurological research has confirmed that the seat of emotions- the limbic system tends to overpower the more rational parts of the brain. People in the middle of a strong emotion rarely use elaborate speech. You have to control yourself to speak slowly and simply. If the other person is high with emotion, purposefully use a lower passive voice to change the tone of the exchange. Smile but don’t come across as if it is all a joke
Understand yourself, your values and vision
Know yourself and why you act the way you do. There needs to be self-reflection. You can’t communicate your vision for a situation if you don’t have one.
Learn to be open and communicate your mistakes
It is much better to be the one to deliver the news of a mistake you made than of your friend or spouse discovers it themselves or is told by someone else. Frame it positively, ‘I made this mistake but here is what we can do about it’. Don’t just apologise but demonstrate through your communication that you understand where you went wrong and how you are going to fix it or what you are going to do better next time.
Understand timing
Seize the moment when it is right, know when it is the wrong time, perhaps when emotions are heightened or one of you or both of you are tired.
It is important that you identify your weaknesses in the area of communication or your temperament and ask God to help you. You can also pray for your spouse but make sure you start with yourself. With all these strategies things will get better.

Landmark ParentingA Biblical Approach to Raising Children in Today’s World
Parenting is one of the most rewarding yet challenging tasks a Christian can undertake. In a world that is increasingly secular, raising children who are strong in their faith and equipped to navigate a complex society can feel overwhelming. However, as Christian parents, we are called to a higher standard, to teach our children the ways of the Lord and prepare them for a life of purpose, integrity, and faith.
The concept of a landmark refers to something significant and enduring often a point of reference or an influential marker on a journey. In the context of parenting, Landmark Parenting is about setting strong, purposeful markers for your child’s spiritual and emotional development. These markers, grounded in biblical values, are meant to guide children on a path of integrity, wisdom, and faith, allowing them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Just as landmarks help travellers find their way, Landmark Parenting serves as a clear, intentional guide for raising children who are rooted in faith and prepared for a purposeful life.
This approach to parenting revolves around the Saturate-Inoculate-Collaborate (SIC) strategy. It provides Christian parents with a framework to instil godly values, wisdom, and resilience in their children ensuring that they grow into well rounded individuals who love and fear God. Let’s explore how the SIC strategy can be a transformative guide in raising spiritually grounded children.
Saturate - Laying the Foundation of Love and God’s Presence
The first step in Landmark Parenting is to saturate your child’s life with love, presence, and God’s truth. Children thrive in environments where they feel secure, loved, and valued, and this begins with the foundation of unconditional love. As parents, we are called to reflect the love of Christ through our actions, words, and interactions with our children. When a child is saturated in love, they learn to trust, to feel safe, and to understand their identity in Christ.
But it’s not just about providing a loving environment. Saturating your child’s life with God’s presence means intentionally bringing God into everyday moments. It’s about making faith a living, breathing part of your family’s routine. This can be done through daily prayers, Bible reading, and
discussing faith-based concepts in everyday life. For instance, taking time to connect topical issues that come up during the day to biblical perspectives allows you to guide your children through real-life situations with a Christ-centred view. This approach helps us to live out Deuteronomy 6:6-7, which calls us to “impress these commandments on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” By doing so, we weave faith naturally into our daily interactions, teaching our children how to apply God’s Word in their everyday lives.
A key part of saturation is understanding your child’s love language. Children experience love differently some through words, others through acts of service or touch. By recognising and responding to their love language, you can ensure they feel loved in a way that resonates with them.
Inoculate - Protecting Your Child’s Heart and Mind
The next step in Landmark Parenting is to inoculate your child against the secular world. Just as a vaccine strengthens the immune system against disease, this step focuses on preparing your child to navigate the challenges of society while remaining strong in their faith. This inoculation comes from equipping them with the wisdom of Scripture and fostering open communication with them.
One of the main challenges Christian parents face today is the encroachment of secular values on their children. The world presents competing ideologies about identity, purpose, and morality that often contradict biblical teachings. This is where inoculation comes in, helping your child understand the truth of God’s Word and how it applies to their life.
This process is not about shielding children from the world, but rather about equipping them with the tools to engage with it wisely. Children should be taught how to think critically and defend their faith with confidence. This can be achieved by encouraging open dialogues about difficult topics, allowing children to ask questions and explore answers through Scripture. Some of these challenging topics include:
• Sexuality and Gender Identity - It’s important to address questions about sexuality, gender identity, and the biblical
Parenting is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey “ “
view of these topics. Children may encounter differing ideas at school, online, or through peers. As parents, we must speak truth in love, teaching them that their identity, worth, and purpose are rooted in God’s design. These discussions should begin with simple truths and deepen as the child matures.
• Sex and Relationships - As children grow older, discussions about sex and relationships become essential. Teaching them about God’s design for marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, alongside lessons on respect, consent, and the purpose of sex within marriage, is crucial. It’s also important to address both emotional and physical aspects of sexuality, helping children understand biblical purity and self-control while equipping them with practical tools to navigate peer pressure.
• Peer Pressure and Media Influence - Alongside topics of sexuality, discussions around the influence of peer pressure and media (such as movies, music, and social media) are necessary. Children are constantly exposed to content that can shape their understanding of relationships, identity, and values. It’s crucial to help them discern what aligns with biblical truth and to guide them in making choices that honour God.
• Addiction and Mental Health - Another important discussion is the dangers of addiction, whether to substances, technology, or unhealthy relationships. Talking openly about mental health helps children build emotional resilience, teaching them that their worth is defined by their relationship with Christ, not their struggles. These conversations show that God is the ultimate source of healing and that they can seek help when needed.
Finally, teaching children apologetics gives them the confidence to speak the truth with love. With the right tools to understand and defend their faith, they can stand firm against societal pressures and resist doubts that challenge their beliefs.
Collaborate - Partnering with God and Others to Strengthen Your Child’s Faith
The final pillar of Landmark Parenting is collaboration, working alongside God and trusted mentors to raise your child. As parents, we often feel like we have to do everything ourselves. But the truth is, parenting is a partnership. First and foremost, we partner with
God, who gives us wisdom, strength, and guidance in raising our children. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate helper in this journey, providing us with the insight we need to make wise decisions.
But collaboration extends beyond our relationship with God, it also includes building alliances with other believers who can support our children’s spiritual growth. Surrounding your children with mentors, and a supportive church community is crucial to their development. Mentorship can be a game-changer, as children learn not just from their parents, but from others too. These mentors provide perspective, wisdom, and encouragement, and can guide your child through challenges from a godly perspective.
Additionally, being part of a church community creates a support network for both parents and children. Church activities, youth groups, and other ministry opportunities allow children to connect with like-minded peers and learn to live out their faith in practical ways. Collaborating with others is essential for fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility within the body of Christ. As parents, we need to remember that we are not in this alone.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Landmark Parenting through the SIC strategy - Saturate, Inoculate, and Collaborate - is a holistic approach to raising children who are strong in their faith and prepared for the world. By saturating their lives with love and God’s presence, inoculating them with wisdom and truth, and collaborating with God and others, parents can create a nurturing environment that promotes spiritual growth and resilience.
Parenting is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey. Through intentionality, prayer, and reliance on God’s Word, parents can raise children who are not only successful in life but also faithful, passionate followers of Christ. With the SIC strategy, we equip our children to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and to fulfil their God-given purpose. Landmark Parenting is a commitment to building a legacy of faith that will impact generations to come.

Understanding the Unseen Emotions of Children and Teens: A Christian Perspective
Children and teenagers often experience a wide range of emotions they may struggle to express or even understand, sometimes such emotions may not always be visible or easily understood by parents too. These unseen emotions can significantly impact their mental health and overall well-being. Recognizing and addressing them is crucial for fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. As parents, guardians, and mentors, it is crucial to discern these unseen emotions and provide Christ-centred support. The Bible offers wisdom in recognizing and nurturing the hearts of young people, ensuring they feel loved, understood, and guided toward emotional and spiritual maturity.
Some Common Unseen Emotions
1. Anxiety: Children and teens may feel anxious about school, social interactions, or future uncertainties. This anxiety can manifest as irritability, avoidance, or physical symptoms like headaches and stomach-aches.
2. Sadness: Sadness or depression might not always be expressed through tears. Instead, it can appear as withdrawal, lack of interest in activities, or changes in sleep and appetite.
3. Fear: Fear of failure, rejection, or disappointing others can be a powerful emotion that children and teens might hide. This fear can lead to perfectionism or
reluctance to try new things.
4. Loneliness: Despite being surrounded by peers, young people can feel isolated and lonely. This feeling might be masked by spending excessive time online or engaging in solitary activities.
5. Anger: Anger can be a secondary emotion, often hiding underlying feelings of hurt, frustration, or fear. It might be expressed through outbursts or passive-aggressive behaviour.
Understanding the unexpressed or hidden emotions of children and young people is crucial for their mental health and well-being. Recent research highlights several key findings: Challenges in Expressing Emotions:
• A 2022 study by the mental health charity Mind revealed that 40% of young people aged 16 to 24 struggle to articulate their feelings when facing mental health challenges. To cope, many turn to creative outlets: 55% listen to music, 23% journal their thoughts, and 10% write songs or spoken word pieces.
• In 2024, a survey conducted during Children’s Mental Health Week found that 55% of children aged 8 to 16 encounter barriers when seeking mental health support. The primary obstacles include discomfort speaking to unfamiliar individuals (29%), desire to keep struggles private (19%), fear of friends’ reactions
(20%), and concern over family responses (16%)
How We Can Help
Recognising the Unseen Emotions
Unseen emotions in children and teens may manifest in subtle ways, such as changes in behaviour, withdrawal, irritability, or even excessive enthusiasm as a mask for deeper feelings. The Bible reminds us in 1 Samuel 16:7, “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” This verse calls us to look beyond the surface behaviour and seek to understand the hearts (feelings) of young people, just as God does.
Creating
a Safe Space for Expression
Open Communication: Encourage open and honest conversations. Children and teens need an environment where they feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. James 1:19 teaches, “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” This verse reminds us to be patient listeners, providing young ones with the assurance that their feelings matter and will be met with love and understanding.
Active Listening: Practice active listening by giving your full attention, validating their emotions, and avoiding immediate solutions or advice.
Sometimes, just being heard can be incredibly comforting James 1:19:”My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” This verse encourages intentional, patient listening reminding us to prioritize understanding others before rushing to respond or react emotionally.
Offering Comfort and Encouragement: Fear, anxiety, and self-doubt are common unseen struggles among young people. The Lord calls us to offer words of comfort and encouragement. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Reminding children and teens of God’s ever-present love and strength can provide them with peace amid their struggles.
Empathy: Show empathy by acknowledging their feelings and expressing understanding. Phrases like “I can see you’re really upset” or “It sounds like you’re feeling overwhelmed” can help them feel understood. Colossians 3:12: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
Encouraging Expression: Encourage young people to express their emotions through creative outlets like art, music, or writing (keeping journal). These activities can provide a healthy way to process and release emotions.
Teaching Emotional and Spiritual Resilience: Guiding children and teens through difficult emotions also involves teaching them resilience rooted in faith. Philippians 4:67 instructs, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Encouraging them to
turn to prayer and scripture in times of distress fosters spiritual resilience and a deeper trust in God’s plan for their lives.
Modelling Healthy Behaviour: Demonstrate healthy emotional regulation by managing your own emotions effectively. Children often learn by observing their parents, so showing how to cope with stress and frustration can be beneficial. Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Routine and Stability:
Establishing a consistent routine can provide a sense of security and predictability. This stability can help reduce anxiety and create a more balanced environment. 1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.”
Positive Reinforcement: Reinforce positive behaviours and efforts, no matter how small. Celebrating achievements and progress can boost their selfesteem and motivation. Proverbs 16:24 “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Using kind and encouraging words uplifts children, boosting their confidence and emotional health.
Daily affirmations: Daily affirmations are positive and faith-filled declarations that believers use to align their thoughts and actions with God’s Word. Affirmations are not merely self-motivating statements but are rooted in biblical truths that reinforce faith, hope, and God’s promises. The Bible encourages believers to speak life-giving words and meditate on Scripture. Proverbs 18:21 states, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Similarly, Joshua 1:8 instructs, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
By affirming God’s Word daily, young people strengthen their faith, renew their minds (Romans 12:2), and resist negative
thoughts that contradict God’s truth.
Professional Support: If you notice persistent emotional struggles, consider seeking support from a mental health professional. Therapists can provide valuable tools and strategies to help your child navigate their emotions. Most parents tend to be in denial and love to explain such emotions away. The danger is that the situation usually lingers and degenerate to a more complicated condition that shows itself in a diseased state.
Practicing Christ-like Love and Compassion: Ultimately, supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and teens means mirroring Christ’s love. Colossians 3:12 tells us, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” By embodying these virtues, we become a living example of God’s love, guiding young hearts toward healing and hope.
Conclusion
Understanding and supporting the unseen emotions of children and teens is a sacred responsibility. By applying biblical principles—listening with love, offering encouragement, teaching resilience, and demonstrating Christ-like compassion—we can help young people navigate their emotions in a way that draws them closer to God. As we walk alongside them in their emotional journeys, may we continually pray for wisdom and guidance, trusting that God will equip us to nurture their hearts for His glory. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Let us be faithful in leading them with understanding, grace, and unwavering faith. Remember, every child is unique, and patience and understanding are key to helping them thrive.

A Landmark Year: Strength for the Burdened Shepherds
This year marks a landmark moment for many of us in the Ministry. As spiritual shepherds, community leaders, and custodians of vision, you’ve borne the burden of intercession, teaching, administration, and the spiritual welfare of others. The weight can be overwhelming, especially in a world and culture that seems increasingly indifferent to the gospel. Yet, this is a year unlike others a prophetic turning point, a season that calls us to reflect, press in deeper, and stand firm.
As we journey through this prophetic year, we need to be encouraged by one of the most striking prophetic acts in
Scripture, the story of Ezekiel lying on his side for over a year. It’s an unusual passage, but it carries deep symbolic meaning for us today.
Ezekiel 4:4-6,
“Lie also on your left side and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the number of the days that you lie on it you shall bear their iniquity. For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. And when you have completed them, lie again on your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days. I have laid on you a day for each year”.
The prophet is commanded by God to lie on his left side for 390 days, bearing the iniquity of Israel. Then, he is to lie on his right side for 40 days, bearing the iniquity of Judah. Each day represents a year of sin. This was no symbolic vision, it was a lived prophecy.
Ezekiel physically bore the weight of his nation’s sin, day by day, unmoved and steadfast, even as the world around him likely mocked or misunderstood him. Imagine the discipline, the pain, the spiritual fortitude required to carry that burden daily. Ezekiel became a living message a sign and a watchman to a people far from God. He did not choose
comfort; he chose obedience. Pastors and leaders, does this sound familiar? In your own way, you’ve laid down your comfort. You’ve borne burdens few understand. You’ve interceded, often in secret. You’ve wept over your church, your city, your people. Like Ezekiel, you’ve become a sign.
However, this year is not just another year. It marks a spiritual threshold, much like the 430 days marked a pivot for Israel and Judah. You might have gone through a long season of pressing, pruning, and prophetic preparation. But hear this clearly: this is the year where your standing matters more than ever.
Just as Ezekiel stood in the gap quite literally lying in place to carry the burden of God’s message you are being called to remain steadfast in your post. Your consistency, your integrity, your intercession, and your love are shaping destinies and shifting atmospheres.
Note this, you are not forgotten in the hidden place. Never!
Ezekiel’s obedience was mostly unseen and misunderstood. No applause, no honor. But God saw. God sees you.
Many pastors and leaders are exhausted because they’ve carried the burden of vision and obedience with little affirmation. But the Lord says, “I see your posture. I see how you have not flinched. I see how you have borne the iniquity of many through your prayers, tears, and sacrifices.” Let this be your reassurance:He who sees in secret will reward you openly. The harvest is nearer than you think.
Ezekiel’s endurance was not just personal it was prophetic. His actions declared judgment, but also the length and end of exile. His pain pointed to restoration. Likewise, your endurance is prophesying
something over your family, your congregation, and even your nation.
Paul wrote in Romans 8:19, “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Every day you choose to remain in your calling even when it hurts you are revealing God’s glory in the earth.
God is resetting the spiritual calendar again.
430 is not a random number. It echoes Israel’s years in Egypt (Exodus 12:40). Ezekiel’s 430 days mirrored this captivity. But that period ended. Deliverance came. A new chapter began. For many, this year represents the end of a long captivity—the lifting of invisible burdens, the breaking of ancient cycles, the dawn of divine clarity.
Your faithfulness has not been in vain. Your burden- bearing has not been without purpose. God is resetting the spiritual calendar. This is a landmark year a year of reckoning, but also of release.
To the weary Leader, take heart and learn from Him. Isaiah 40:29-31 says: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
This promise is for you.
It’s okay to admit weariness. Even Ezekiel had to rely on divine strength. Your humanity is not a disqualification. It is a vessel for God’s power to be made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians12:9).
before God speaks louder than any sermon. A posture of intercession - remember, you are not just leading a church or organization; you are shaping destinies through prayer. Trust the timeline. God has not forgotten the days, months, and years you’ve sown. The number 430 shows that God is aware and He counts every season.
This is the not the time to throw in towel, it is a time to surround yourself with truthtellers and fellow intercessors. Ezekiel was part of a prophetic community. So should you be.
To those who carry a prophetic mantle who, like Ezekiel, often walk a lonely and misunderstood path know this: God is amplifying your voice in this landmark year. The burden has been heavy, but the message will now flow with clarity and authority. God is raising the volume of the watchmen. Your season of lying in silence is over. Prepare to speak what you have seen in the secret place. And do not fear their faces (Jeremiah 1:8).
There is a clarion call to stand and see. This is the landmark year. Not because circumstances are easy, but because something in the Spirit is shifting. The long burden has not been without purpose. Like Ezekiel, you’ve laid down your life to carry what others would not. But now, the Lord says: “Stand and see the salvation of the Lord.”
To every pastor, leader, intercessor, prophet, and watchman: this is not the year to shrink back. This is the year to rise, speak, and walk boldly in your calling. You’ve endured your 430 days. Now step into the divine aftermath. Restoration, clarity, and revival are not just coming they are here.
As we continue through this landmark year, be encouraged to stay postured in obedience. Like Ezekiel, your posture
With strength and grace.

Reimagining the Next Level
The Bible in Isaiah 43:18-19 states, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” This encourages believers to move beyond past struggles and look forward to God’s new and transformative actions in their lives. Isaiah foreshadows that the Lord will judge Babylon and promises His exiled people new life. God warns his people that their sin is leading them to a future of captivity under the Babylonian Empire. Life looks bleak and they are stuck in a pit of despair as they look back in life. How can believers now attain the next level of their lives amid prevailing uncertainties?
i. Forget the Past, Embrace the New:
Everybody likes new things, including God. He’s called the Ancient of Days, yet He says, forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. Attaining a certain level of success can lead to a feeling of comfort, making individuals less motivated to push themselves further or take risks. To a considerable extent our past can stand on the way of our future. The idea that past accomplishments can become obstacles to future ones is a common paradox, often stemming from comfort zones, complacency, or fear of failure. There is a better tomorrow, and we must strive to attain the best in the future. There is more that we can accomplish in the kingdom. Apostle Paul desired to attain a higher calling. In Philippians 3:12-14, he said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” We must not give up or give in to storms and circumstances but to press through challenges and temporary setbacks. There is so much more for believers to strive for. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures believers that no temptation is beyond their ability to endure, as God is faithful and will provide a way of escape, enabling them to withstand any trial.
ii. Unwavering Action:
The next level demands courageous action with corresponding radical obedience. God told Joshua that, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may
prosper wherever you go” (Joshua 1:5-7). Joshua demonstrated unwavering obedience to God’s commands, highlighting the value of following God’s laws without question. Joshua’s leadership role in conquering Canaan required immense bravery, demonstrating the need to be strong and courageous when facing adversity.
Action always speaks louder than words. James 1:22 admonishes us to “… be doers of the word, and not hearers only ….” Genuine faith isn’t just about passively hearing or knowing God’s word but actively living it out through obedient actions. Any faith without corresponding action is fruitless. It cannot breed desired results. In fact, James 2:26 says “faith without works is dead.” True faith should be demonstrated through actions and is not merely a belief, but an active and living force. Just as it applied to early Christian communities struggling with the balance between faith and works, it is still applicable to our contemporary era if we must attain our highest goal.
The whole world is eagerly waiting in anticipation at the manifestation of believers. Paul writing asserts in Romans 8:18-21 (The Message) “That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.”
The whole of creation anticipates the full manifestation of God’s children and the ultimate redemption of creation.
Furthermore, Paul emphasizes that the true nature of God’s kingdom lies not in mere words or eloquent speech, but in the demonstration of His power through the Holy Spirit and the Gospel. He said in 1 Corinthians 4:20 that, “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” Paul is not dismissing the importance of the preached word but rather highlighting that the gospel’s effectiveness comes not from human skill in speaking, but from the power of God’s Spirit working in the hearts of believers. The “power” here refers to the dynamic and transformative power of the Holy Spirit, which is evident in the lives of believers and the Church. This power is not just for miraculous signs but for living a life that reflects God’s holiness and true love. God possesses love as a quality, and it is a manifestation of His divine character (1 John 4:8).
iii. Hope and Encouragement:
Know that complaining cannot enable us to attain our desired next level. Research indicates that hope can help us manage stress and anxiety and cope with adversity. It contributes to our well-being and motivates positive action. Hopeful people believe they can influence their goals, and that their efforts
can have a positive impact. Be disciplined and focus on strategic options while adapting your practices to meet current demands. Isaiah 43:18-19 offers a message of hope and encouragement, reminding believers that God is always doing new things and that He invites them to join Him on this journey of transformation. Now, no matter what has happened in your life, know that the future is better than what happened in the past; the future is better than the present; it will always be. Again, nothing is forever in this world, and that’s why we have every reason to be hopeful. It is advisable never to stress about what you cannot control. Just take a deep breath and be disciplined to bounce back and you shall profit. Interestingly, the general message in John 16:33 is that hardship and persecution will come, but believers should remain faithful, knowing this is all part of God’s knowledge and His will. Rather than reacting in panic or doubt, believers should feel a sense of peace. Therefore, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23, NKJV).
iv. God’s Sovereignty and Faithfulness:
The verses in Isaiah 43:18-19 emphasize God’s power and goodness, portraying a God who cannot be stopped in his commitment to redeem his people. His sovereignty guarantees courage to face adversity. His sovereignty helps us to show gratitude amid storms. 1 Peter 4:12-13 admonishes that “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial, which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
Be encouraged to commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established (Proverbs 16:3). For after it all, God’s anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; and weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
Pushing yourself to the next level means that you are going to have to roll up your sleeves, overcome adversity, and show some superherolike persistence. Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, said, “The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.” Our God is a faithful God! Romans 12:2 (NKJV) says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Every next level of your life will demand a different version of you. We must let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Know that he is committed to His word to bring you to be best of who you ought to be.
Shalom!

The Necessity of Revelation
As God’s children, we are made for more than mediocrity, we are made for more than what we have allowed ourselves to dream. We are made to walk in the supernatural, to walk in God’s authority and to achieve great things as His ambassadors. We can only do all this if we have understanding and knowledge of God that goes beyond our head knowledge. It must take root in our heart/mind so that we walk in the spirit.
Isaiah 50:4-5 NLT
The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I have not rebelled or turned away.
It is God’s desire to open our understanding to His will every single day and to give us words of wisdom. As He speaks, we must listen. Without revelation from God, we are stumbling around in the dark, not knowing what we should be doing or not doing. It is a grave error for a child of God to be fumbling in darkness or confusion.
John 8:12
“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Isaiah 60:20
Your sun will never set; your moon will not go down. For the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end”.
We cannot be fumbling in the dark and being confused when the Lord is our everlasting light!
Ephesians 1:17-19a
“asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who
are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him…”
From here, we see that to grow in the knowledge of God, you need spiritual wisdom and insight. To understand the confident hope God has given you, your heart must be flooded with light.
Jesus’ approach to hearing God is simple. He presents this crystal-clear message:
The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice... I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father- and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:2-5, 14-15)
The Lord is making a point here about his voice: he speaks. His sheep - those who have ears to listen, hear it, know it, and follow it.
For some, prayer feels like leaving phone messages on God’s answering machine hoping that He would eventually check his messages. Perhaps you are asking why God has not answered your prayers. I want to assert that He has but you have not heard Him.
Job voiced the same questions after going through a series of brutal personal catastrophes.
His family, his wealth, and finally his health were taken away from him. Finally, Job challenged God on the perceived silence.
Elihu answered Job’s accusation in regard to God’s apparent silence:
Job 33:13-18
“So why are you bringing a charge against him? Why say he does not respond to people’s complaints? For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride. He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death”.
As you can see, Elihu confronts Job with this truth: God does speak. He is speaking all the time. He speaks in many ways. The problem is not with God’s voice, the trouble is with our ears. We don’t hear or perceive what he is saying.
Acts 2:16-18
“No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike—and they will prophesy”.
Each manifestation of the Spirit mentioned here, prophecies, visions, and dreams is God’s voice. The voice of the Lord is like the sound of many waters (Psalm 29:3).
You must be informed spiritually. The spiritual information you have will save you from being in an unnecessary bondage or problem. The best way to be spiritually informed and become knowledgeable is to make the word of God your companion day and night. Once you are aware and knowledgeable about what God says in His word concerning a situation that you are going through, it will be very hard for the devil to toss you here and there.
An example of a spiritually well-informed woman is Deborah. We read about her in Judges 4. She knew how to seek the face of God to receive the right spiritual information. The whole of Israel as a nation would have been left in the dark if Deborah did not take the time to seek the face of God. They had been in bondage for twenty solid years and when they cried unto God, the Lord answered them. However, someone needed to hear God and act on the information. Deborah stood up as the
mother-in-Israel to rescue the people. Deborah was a well-informed knowledgeable woman. She knew how to hear from God.
The Bible is a compulsory informative spiritual book that you cannot do without. If anyone comes to say anything to you in an attempt to deceive you or frustrate you spiritually, the information you already have of God’s word will give you the right answer.
Another example of a woman who was informed was Rebekah. She had been married for twenty years without any child. After twenty years of waiting on the Lord, she became pregnant. Instead of having a peaceful and smooth pregnancy like most people around her, the pregnancy became a troubled one.
She did not go to any human being for an answer, instead, she went straight to God.
The Bible says in Genesis 25:22 “But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So, she went to inquire of the Lord”.
When Rebekah went to meet the Lord, He gave her the answer that she needed: Genesis 25:23 “… Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger”.
Rebekah would never have known such information if she did not ask God. The information she got that day prepared her for the future.
Lastly it is important to teach our children to hear from God. We are doing great if we teach them to read the Bible and pray but we must go the extra mile and encourage them to experience the supernatural. They must hear the voice of God in what they read, they must hear the still small voice answer them in the place of prayer and they should have revelational dreams and visions.
Matthew 11:25-26
“At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do”.
Deuteronomy 29:29
29 “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions”.

AI and Christianity: Stewarding Innovation
At a time when artificial intelligence (AI) is fast transforming human society, Christians are called to lead in ethical AI innovation, marrying technological progress with biblical stewardship and end-time awareness. Divine creativity is not new to Christianity. In Exodus 31, we have Bezalel, the first biblically documented engineer, imbued with God’s Spirit “with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills” to plan out the Tabernacle. Likewise, Joseph in Genesis 41 has some predictive analytics when he handles Egypt’s resources under famine.
These show divine wisdom finding expression in technological ways for divine purposes.
The relationship between the Church and innovation, however, has been complicated. From initial reluctance about the printing press to present-day controversy over AI, Christians have struggled with technological innovation.
On the one hand, AI has the potential to propel the Great Commission forward by aiding evangelism.
Generative AI technology can span language, geography, and accessibility barriers, and enable ministries to reach unreached people worldwide. For instance, apps such as iEvangelize enable believers to share the Gospel easily in everyday conversations using AI to offer evangelistic prompts and resources. Likewise, AI can also translate sermons into dozens of languages in mere seconds or make culturally tailored discipleship resources. These allow Christians to share Christ’s message in countries where open evangelism is closed or impossible to do.
However, AI also raises serious ethical and eschatological concerns. One of the most troubling is the rise of deepfakes. These are AI-generated media that manipulate images or videos to misrepresent reality. Deepfakes can erode trust by making it nearly impossible to distinguish truth from falsehood. Such deception resonates with warnings in
Revelation about end-times deceit and the “mark of the beast.” Beyond deepfakes, technologies like “grief AI,” which mimic conversations with deceased loved ones, threaten to distort Christian hope in the resurrection and eternal life in Christ.
Despite these, knowledge and innovation are gifts from God. As Proverbs 2:6 states, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” By embracing ethical AI development, Christians can uncover new facets of God’s wisdom. Rejecting technology outright risks missing opportunities to glorify God through scientific discovery and to leverage these tools for Kingdom purposes. Instead, the Church should approach AI with discernment, seeking to harness its potential for good while remaining vigilant against its misuse.
We need to develop a strong ethical framework for AI creation based on biblical principles such as:
1. Transparency: AI systems should be designed with openness and accountability, reflecting the Christian value of walking in the light (Ephesians 5:8-11).
2. Human Dignity: AI must enhance, not replace, human agency and relationships, recognizing humanity’s unique status as bearers of God’s image.
3. Stewardship: AI development should prioritize applications that care for creation and serve the marginalized, echoing God’s concern for the poor and the planet.
4. Eschatological Awareness: Christians must balance technological progress with the understanding that ultimate hope lies not in human innovation but in Christ’s return.
Practical applications might include developing AIpowered tools for pastoral work that augment human ministry and crafting ethical guidelines for church use of data analysis. Gloo has created AI-powered analytics software for churches to determine community needs and plan specific outreach accordingly.
Christians should also be wary of technologies that contradict biblical teachings. Algorithms that select “verse of the day” messages often prefer motivational verses over challenging ones, potentially warping spiritual development. Similarly, AIassisted sermons or worship services risk depersonalizing faith and undermining the communal aspect of church life. The economic effect of AI also demands Christian attention. While AI can replace jobs, the Church
should advocate for ethical protection and retraining initiatives, fulfilling the biblical obligation to care for the vulnerable (Proverbs 14:31).
By leading in ethical AI development and leveraging its potential for evangelism, the Church can guide this powerful technology toward worship, justice, and flourishing rather than leaving it solely in secular hands.
As we continue, let us remember Proverbs 25:2 and understand that it is God’s glory to conceal things and kings’ glory to search them out. Let us proceed with AI in wisdom and cautious optimism, seeking to glorify God in all our technological endeavors.

From Kingdom Records to RCCG-UK Landmark-Chronicles Project
Some years ago, we were blessed to undertake a pilgrimage to Israel as part of RCCG Pilgrimage with our General Overseer. That was a lifedefining encounter which is strongly recommended to all. Each day we would travel to various sites of spiritual and historical interest. At each site, we would hear from our wonderful tour guide, Debra who is a Messianic-Jew. She would share historical and Jewish insights as well as biblical revelations and practical applications for life. At each site, we would conclude by praying all manners of prayers.
At one of the sites, Debra asked us - why did the Bible take time to record the number of fish caught by Peter and his team of fishermen? The explanations were revelatory. Firstly, the numbers were given because the Jewish and biblical tradition is a tradition of detailed record-keeping; secondly the Jewish tradition emphasizes accountability and accuracy of records; thirdly the record of fish caught was to be used practically to carefully divide and share the profits from the catch and for the calculation of tithes. You may recall that Jesus commended the Pharisees and Sadducees for incredible exactitude of calculation to make sure they paid the right tithe. Thirdly, fishing partners would have to pay taxes to the authorities from their profit and therefore exact numbering records would be needed for meeting their tax obligations to governmental authorities.
The Bible is the God inspired record of His-story
The Bible’s 66 books are the best records of history and by them, we can put all human history in true perspective - human history, civilizations, great kingdoms and empires and so forth. The Bible is the perfect record and history of God’s dealings with mankind. Through the eyes of the Bible, we understand that history is not just a collection and succession of random sagas and records of civilizations, but of God’s eternal plan woven through the fabric of history.
THE NECESSITIES, JOYS, BENEFITS AND TYPES OF KINGDOM RECORDS
AND BOOKS-KEEPING
The Lord is interested in the acts of the saints and the stewardship of his ministers, both spiritual and
governmental. For which purpose, we must all give an account of our stewardship (Heb. 13.17). Since we must all give account, we must all keep good and excellent records.
What records must we keep?
1. Testimony records of God’s marvelous works in and through His people.
“Just as she came in, the king was talking with Gehazi, Elisha’s servant, and saying, “Tell me some stories of the great things Elisha has done.” 2Kings 8.4
2. Financial records and accounting of our stewardship and service
Everyone entrusted with resources is required to account for their service and stewardship. We will all have to provide an account to Heavenly Father of our stewardship here on earth. We are also required to account for our stewardship to our supervisors and governmental authorities. “So he called him and said to him … Give an accounting of your management [of my affairs]”. Luke 16.2 AMP
3. Records of births and other milestones of life. For many centuries, the local churches in Europe were vital record-keepers for cities, towns and communities. The early churches kept the records of births, baptisms, marriage and deaths and that continued until local and town councils were formalized and became the custodian for such vital information. We ought to keep such records. Such records are kept in Heaven: “The Lord keeps a list of all his people, and he knows where each of them was born.” Ps 87.6 ERV
4. Records of progress, projects, missions and operations. Nehemiah 3 describes and records the names, manners and division of labour of those families and clans who volunteered for the Nehemiahled project to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem. “The Fish Gate was built by the sons of Hassenaah; they did the whole thing—cut the beams, hung the doors, and made the bolts and bars. Meremoth (son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz) repaired the next section of wall, and beyond
him were Meshullam (son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabel) and Zadok (son of Baana). Next were the men from Tekoa, but their leaders were lazy and didn’t help”. Neh. 3.3-5 TLB
5. Records of salvation and repentance.
The Malachi generation were rather estranged from God’s ways and the Lord Himself carefully detailed their ungodly ways and asked them to repent. Of that generation, many openly repented and committed to living right before the Lord. A careful record was taken of all those who feared the Lord, repented and determined to walk rightly before the Lord. We ought to keep such records of salvation, re-dedication, baptisms and so forth. “Then those who feared and loved the Lord spoke often of him to each other. And he had a Book of Remembrance drawn up in which he recorded the names of those who feared him and loved to think about him. “They shall be mine,” says the Lord Almighty, “in that day when I make up my jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares an obedient and dutiful son. Then you will see the difference between God’s treatment of good men and bad, between those who serve him and those who don’t”. Mal. 3.16-18 TLB
6. Personal, organizational records, wills and life-lessons
“The rest of the life and times of Hezekiah, along with his projects, especially the way he engineered the Upper Pool and brought water into the city, are written in The Chronicles of the Kings of Judah. Hezekiah died and was buried with his ancestors. His son Manasseh became the next king”. 2Kings 2.20-21 MSG
King David’s legacy was almost spoiled when Adonijah made himself king when King David was old, weak and bed-ridden. Adonijah declared himself as the next king and had a great coronation party. Nathan who was King David’s pastor was surprised because he had not heard David say that Adonijah will succeed him as king. The incident and the intervention of Nathan compelled and gave David the opportunity to settle his affairs properly. He appointed Solomon as king. Check out 1Kings 1& 2. It is practical wisdom therefore to settle affairs while still alive. Some never have the opportunity and others have the opportunity but do not take it up. It is a blessing and the opportunity to do so.
7. Organisational chronicles, history and lifelessons.
Organisations ought also to write careful records of their journeys thus far; motivations, achievements, challenges and failures and crucially dreams for the future. In doing so, be careful to establish the right Godly motivation, What’s the purpose of memoirs? Pride selfaggrandizement, return favors, attack others or to settle scores? Better still, write for purposeful and careful examination of life and to leave lessons for future generations to encourage them in their walk with God. Memoirs are one way. Video history is another. The books of 1&2 Kings and 1&2 Chronicles are such records.
Book of Life
Heaven keeps an incredibly detailed records of those who are for God. The names of all who have accepted Christ and lived for God, are carefully kept and recorded in the Book of life. Those whose names are there will be granted a sweet home-coming at the Gates of Heaven. Anyone whose names are not in the Book of Life will be denied entry to heaven and will instead be sent to eternal torment in Hell.
Dear Reader, have you accepted Christ? Is your name in Lamb’s Book of Life? If not, please hasten right now, go down on your knees and invite Jesus into your life. You cannot afford to take the chance of spending another day without making the most important decision of life and choosing Christ. Choose Christ and enter your name into the Book of Life. Check out Revelation 3.5; 13.8; 17.8; 20.12; 20;15 and 21.27.
“I saw the dead, great and small, standing before God; and The Books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in The Books, each according to the deeds he had done. And if anyone’s name was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire. Nothing evil will be permitted in it no one immoral or dishonest but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life”. TLB

Church Spotlight Salt & Light in FOLKESTONE
1. Introduction & Background
• About: Helping Hands (Inspiration House Folkestone & Dover), is dedicated to the cause of FREGH - holistic family support, governance, raising young leaders, alleviating food insecurity, improving educational access and protecting the environment. Our mission is to ensure every child in our community has the tools they need to succeed in school.
• Inspiration: The passion and inspiration of Pastor Nike and Pastor Idowu, who are deeply moved by need of the vulnerable within the community such as victims of domestic abuse and their children and witnessing families struggle to access fresh food. Our vision was to create a community where “Every Child, Every Family and Every Individual do not go hungry, destituted or unkempt”.
2. Community Needs & Focus
• Key issues: Our work addresses homelessness, unaccompanied young asylum seekers, single parents and their children, unemployed ethnic minorities, young people seeking apprenticeships within the community, vulnerable people with issues of substance misuse and more. The Police use our church premises as a surgery for ex-offenders.
• How we identified the focus: Through research, surveys, and engagement with local residents. Also collaborative working with the Local Council gave access to the statistics of those experiencing homelessness, housing problems and mental health urgent concerns.
3. Programs & Initiatives
Key programs: We run initiatives such as:
• Breakfast with Jesus
• Holiday Bible Club
• Feeding the Homeless
• Foodbank
• Pet Minder Service
• Accessing Apprenticeship
• Member of House of Parliament Prayer Group/ Intercessors
Community impact: These programs help by offering holistic support to underprivileged children and families. We have been able to access donations of food from various companies as well as donations from two high street shops of clothing and school items
4. Impact & Outcomes
• Measuring success: We assess our impact using surveys, testimonies and key metrics such as reduced food insecurity. Feedback from beneficiaries is central to our evaluations.
• Observed changes: Since starting, we’ve seen a 40% increase in youth literacy rates of the 196 families that have accessed our food bank since the Covid lockdown. 84 children access our school rucksack bags etc. Our Holiday Bible Club has been accessed by children within the community who are not church goers. These children are registered by their parents who sometimes attend sessions with them.
• Evidence: Testimonials such as: “my children sing Christian songs now”, “my child can recite memory verses from the Bible” and local newspaper illustrate the difference we’ve made.
5. Community Engagement & Involvement
• Resident involvement: Local residents play a key role by volunteering with the foodbank and feeding the homeless etc.
• Partnerships: Collaboration with schools, local businesses, government bodies and the Mayor’s Office strengthen our work.
• Community reception: We’re thrilled by the positive response from community members, with many expressing gratitude and enthusiasm.
6. Challenges & Solutions
• Biggest challenges: Like many charities, we face challenges such as limited funding, volunteer shortages, or accessing the nonengaging.
• How we overcome them: We tackle these by engaging strategic partnerships, launching awareness campaigns, making some programs quarterly or annually, applying for grants etc.
7. Funding & Sustainability
• Funding: Our work is funded through donations, grants, Mayor’s fund and fundraising events. Community support is vital for keeping our programs running.
• Upcoming events: Holiday Bible Club in Summer 2025, Carrying Your Cross (Good Friday).
• Sustainability: We plan long-term by building a robust donor network, and working in partnership with the Churches Together and Rainbow Centre Folkestone.
8. Future Plans & Vision
• Goals: Over the next few years, we aim to expand programs when we move to a more permanent premises.
• New initiatives: Exciting upcoming projects include launching a mentorship program and a green energy initiative.
• Vision: We envision a future where a member of the RCCG would be in every household in our community, where the vision of FREGH will be actualised.
9. Personal Reflections
• Rewarding moments: The most rewarding part of this work has been elevating poverty among impoverished families, souls coming to the knowledge of Christ, seeing children thrive or witnessing the generosity of the community. A moment that stands out is helping a family rebuild after fleeing domestic abuse and seeing a youth graduate against the odds in apprenticeship. “One of the most heartwarming stories we’ve witnessed is about lady with two children, who fled domestic abuse. Thanks to our initiatives, she now has a place to call home and recently started a new job. Her journey is a testament to the difference we can make when we work together with Social Services and the Housing Team.”
10. Call to Action
• Getting involved: You can support our mission by volunteering, donating, spreading the word.
• Message to donors and volunteers: Thank you for believing in our vision.
“Imagine a world where every child wakes up knowing they have the tools to chase their dreams. That’s the future we’re working towards step by step, with your support.”
“It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in such a short time. But the best part? We’re just getting started!”
“When the community comes together, it’s like watching seeds of hope grow into trees of opportunity. Every program we run is another branch reaching out to those who need it most.”
FROM A NIGHT CLUB TO A CHURCH
“With man this is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible.”
–
Matthew 19:26
The Almighty God has blessed us with a permanent Church building after several years of searching. May all the glory be to HIS holy name, Amen. This is nothing short of a miracle, a testament to His power, faithfulness, and divine provision.
The Journey of Faith
We started holding services in 2012 and for several years, we struggled with accommodation, as we were renting a community centre for our Church gatherings. On several occasions (including the winter seasons) the congregation arrived at the community centre only to find the building locked due to the unavailability of personnel to open the gates. On other occasions, members had to manage with non-ideal conditions including heating failures etc. But through it all, we held on to our faith, trusting that God would make a way somehow.
Despite setbacks and financial struggles, we continued to pray, believing that the same God who provided for Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob and David would also provide for us. We declared HIS promises over our situation, knowing that He is Jehovah Jireh our Provider! We also took some practical steps namely:
a. Regular prayers for a new building were held during our services.
b. We added the search in our announcements – this ran for years to the extent that it seemed futile, and some people were even bored of seeing it but we kept trusting God.
c. Effective financial and fiscal stewardship
Both the Pastor and Trustee members still did secular work and were contributing financially to the Church together with contribution from members.
d. We also created a search database and registered with auction houses/estate agents.
The Breakthrough
For nearly 10 years we kept praying and trying. The key obstacles we faced were:
a. Most of the buildings we found that were suitable for our needs were beyond our budget.
b. Those building within our budgets were often too small or unsuitable – hence might not get planning permission.
c. The location of some of the buildings within our budget were not within commutable distance for a majority of our members.
Then, in his perfect timing during the 50 days fasting in 2023, the Almighty God opened a door that no man could shut. After nearly a 10 year wait, during one of our routine searches, we saw the current building and contacted the estate agent. The estate agent notified us that the property is going to be auctioned. We were very much aware that if the property goes to auction that we will lose out, as we had several of such experiences in the past. However, they noted that if we can pay cash, that they will hold off the auction as well as give us a bargain price – about one-third of the actual worth! This was surely a Divine Intervention. We had to scrape and cobble together every penny. However, we still had a shortfall. It was onerous and stressful as we stood to lose the property.
By God’s grace, following consultations by the Board of Trustees, we successfully took out a loan which amounted to about 30% of the sale price.
After the acquisition of the building, the next task was that of getting a planning permission. One of the steps we took was to keep a low profile - to reduce opposition, given that the building is well known (as it was formerly a night club) and situated at the centre of the town. However, we received several unwanted media coverage by the local press (Swindon Advertiser etc) who for some reason were regularly reporting on the developments to the building – including the fact that we have applied for a planning permission to convert the building to a Church. Some members of the public were supportive, but others were opposed to the acquisition. Subsequently we were contacted and interviewed by BBC radio Wiltshire during which we explained the benefits that the RCCG Parish/ Church will bring to the Swindon community through our outreach and community projects such as Bible clubs, food banks, soup kitchens, youth camps, etc.
Additionally, we also engaged a professional planning officer to spearhead the planning application. However, there were still prolonged delays as we had to supply several documents, architectural diagrams etc. Nevertheless, by God’s grace the planning permission was finally granted in November 2023. What once
seemed impossible became possible because of His grace and favour.
This was not by our strength or resources but by HIS DIVINE intervention i.e. the financial resources, the approvals, and everything we needed came together in a way that only God could orchestrate. HE made the impossible possible! Today, we stand in awe of HIS greatness, giving HIM all the glory for this wonderful blessing.
As an evangelistic Church, we believe that God purposely brought us to the heart of the town to be a light to the town in spreading the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to turn back the hearts of men to the Lord.
A Word of Encouragement
To anyone facing difficulties whether it be in ministry, business, or personal life never stop trusting in GOD and never give up. HE is always working behind the scenes, even when it seems like nothing is happening. HIS plans are always greater than ours, and HIS timing is always perfect. If HE did it for us, HE can do it for you! Keep praying, keep believing, and never lose faith because our God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
All Glory to God!

STICK TO THE JOURNEY EVEN WHEN THE STAR STOPS SHINING
The journey of the Magi is a profound lesson in faith, perseverance, and divine guidance. These wise men set out on a mission led by a star, God’s visible sign pointing them toward the Messiah. Yet, at a critical moment, the star seemingly disappeared, leading them to seek guidance elsewhere. This unexpected turn raises a deep question: What do you do when the light of divine direction grows dim?
Trust in the Dark
The absence of the star is not accidental; it is instructive. Scripture is filled with moments where God allows temporary obscurity, not to abandon His people, but to mature their faith. The Magi’s journey mirrors the experience of Abraham, who left his homeland without knowing his destination (Hebrews 11:8), and the Israelites, who wandered in the wilderness before reaching the Promised Land.
In our spiritual walk, we too encounter moments when God’s presence feels less tangible, when the clear guidance we once had seems to fade. But as the Magi discovered, God is still guiding, even in the silence. Their journey offers us three key insights into how we navigate these seasons.
Journey in Community
The Magi did not travel alone. In moments of spiritual obscurity, we are reminded that faith is communal. Scripture exhorts us to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2) because in seasons of uncertainty, isolation can lead to despair. Like the early church (Acts 2:42-47), we are strengthened when we journey together.
Seek Counsel, but with Discernment
When the star disappeared, the Magi sought guidance, but their detour to Herod’s palace reveals the necessity of discernment. Not all counsel is godly counsel. Herod represents the wisdom of the world, self-serving and deceptive. In uncertain times, we must, like Solomon, pray for discernment (1 Kings 3:9) and ensure that those who advise us are aligned with God’s purposes.
God’s Silence is Not Denial, but Alignment
One of the most difficult aspects of faith is enduring silence. Yet, silence does not mean abandonment and it is in the quiet that God often does His deepest work. His silence is not a denial of His promises, but an opportunity for alignment and transformation.
Rev. Dr. Renita Weems, in Listening for God: A Minister’s Journey Through Silence and Doubt, reflects on how God’s silence is often misunderstood. She writes, “Silence is not always the absence of God; sometimes, it is the presence of God too deep for words.” Weems challenges us to see these moments not as punishment but as an invitation to deeper trust and spiritual
growth. Think of Joseph, whose dreams from God were followed by years of betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment. It seemed as if the promise had faded, yet those years were shaping him for leadership in Egypt (Genesis 50:20). God’s silence was never about rejection, but preparation.
When the star disappears, it forces us to trust in God’s character rather than just His signs. He is still leading, even when we cannot see how.
Stay the Course, the Star Will Shine Again
Despite the temporary absence of the star, the Magi remained faithful to their mission and in due time, the star reappeared, leading them to Christ. This echoes the promise of Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Periods of divine silence are never the end of the story; they are moments of spiritual formation. As we persevere, we are transformed, emerging with a deeper faith and greater capacity to follow where God leads.
Walk by Faith, Not Just Sight
The Magi’s journey reminds us that faith is not merely about following signs; it is about trusting the One who gives them. When the star stops shining, keep walking because when it reappears, you will not only find the destination, you will discover that you have been changed in the process.

A Historic Milestone: Inauguration of the First RCCG Indigenous Parish in Belgium
On the 24th of November 2024, history was made as the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) inaugurated its first indigenous parish in Belgium. This significant event, officiated by the Regional Pastor of Region 6 RCCG Europe Mainland, Pastor Mike Nwanegbo, marks a major step in the mission of RCCG to extend the Gospel to the indigenous communities in Belgium.
The inauguration ceremony was a moment of joy and celebration, bringing together believers from diverse backgrounds to witness this divine expansion. The newly established parish, Worship the Lord Parish, pastored by Deacon Milano Dietiensotto and his wife, Sister Priscilla, is set to serve as a bridge between the local Belgian population and the global RCCG family. The initiative reflects RCCG’s commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission by reaching out to people of all nations, breaking cultural barriers, and fostering unity in Christ.
In his address, Pastor Mike Nwanegbo emphasized the importance of engaging with the indigenous communities in Belgium. He highlighted that this new parish is not just another church plant but a strategic means of evangelism and integration, ensuring that more Belgians experience the transforming power of the Gospel. He also encouraged the congregation to actively participate in outreach programs, fostering relationships and embracing the cultural diversity within the church.
Deacon Milano, the Parish Pastor, expressed his gratitude to RCCG leadership for entrusting him with this great responsibility. He reassured the congregation of his commitment to building a spirit-filled, welcoming, and dynamic community of believers, where both long-time Christians and new converts can grow in their faith. He emphasized that this parish will be a place of worship, spiritual nourishment, and community impact, with a strong focus on evangelism, discipleship, and social engagement.
The inauguration was filled with an atmosphere of worship, thanksgiving, and anticipation for what God will accomplish through this new work. The congregation joined in powerful prayers, uplifting praise, and a commitment to
the vision of making a lasting impact in Belgium. As the first RCCG indigenous parish in the country, this milestone signals the beginning of greater revival and kingdom expansion, as many more souls are won for Christ.
As we look ahead, we celebrate this historic achievement and pray for God’s continuous guidance and blessings upon Deacon Milano, his wife Sis Priscilla, and the entire parish. May this parish be a beacon of light, a home for all, and

It was early morning, just as the sun was rising on the third day after Jesus’ crucifixion. Mary Magdalene walked slowly toward the tomb, her heart heavy with sorrow. The scent of burial spices filled the air, and each step felt like a weight on her soul. The One (Jesus) who had healed her, the One (Jesus) who had loved her purely, was dead.
As she neared the tomb, something seemed wrong!
The stone was rolled away.
Panic gripped her. She ran to tell Peter and John:
“They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” (John 20:2)
The disciples ran, peeping into the darkness of the tomb. The linen cloths were there, neatly folded. But Jesus was not there.
Confused, they returned home. But Mary stayed. She wept.
But in her sorrow, she looked inside once more and alas she saw two angels.
“Woman, why are you crying?” they asked. “They have taken my Lord away,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
Then she turned and saw someone standing there.
She thought He was the gardener.
“Sir,” she pleaded, “if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Suddenly, everything changed with one word.
“Mary.”
She knew that voice. “Rabboni!” she cried, which means Teacher. Jesus was alive.
He looked at her with love and said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them…” (John 20:16-17)
Mary ran no longer in sorrow, but with great joy burning in her heart.
The tomb was and is still empty! Death is defeated! The King is Alive!
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” (Matthew 28:6)
We pray in the name of Jesus, that you will experience His resurrection power in every area of your life.
