Notes from the road...

As I write this, our group of 34 Sunrise Tours travelers is en route back to the Midwest, winding down our Cajun Holiday Celebration tour. I had the privilege of joining this tour…my first time on the road with Sunrise. The company encourages new tour planners like me to go on tour to help us better plan tours, to understand how tours flow on the road, the timing and pace of events, and how the tour manager interacts with the passengers. I joined the tour mid-way through in New Orleans, a city with a big reputation as well as lots of charm. A highlight of the trip was our stay at the Higgins Hotel, which had its grand opening just days before our arrival. The hotel is named for Andrew Higgins, founder of the New Orleans-based manufacturing company that produced U-boats during World War II. Every detail of the hotel’s stunning 40’s-era décor has been meticulously selected, with furnishings like light fixtures constructed of replicas of M1 helmets and ball turrets, World War II-era artwork, and a grand piano that belonged to Gen. George Patton. The hotel is an extension of the six-acre National WW2 Museum across the street, and a visit there also did not disappoint. The massive museum immerses visitors in the American experience in the “war that changed the world.” Interactive exhibits provide a sense of the harrowing and diverse conditions in the European and Pacific theaters and inspire visitors with incredible stories of heroism and sacrifice. The story of the war on the home front is also told, showcasing manufacturing efforts and the essential tools of the war effort. For several travelers, there was a deeply personal connection as family members had fought in WW2.

Annie at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, LA

Spending time in the South, experiencing the Higgins Hotel, WW2 Museum and more, and, perhaps more importantly, getting to know some of our wonderful travelers, was a special experience, one I’ll never forget. Like the sound of it? For a taste of bayou country with a bit of a different spin, check out New Orleans Cajun Country (page 4). Have a desire to experience a different part of the country or go on an international adventure? Peruse our catalog…you’re sure to find just the right tour package. Whether you end up in New Orleans or another fantastic destination, with Sunrise you can “laissez les bon temps roulez!” Annie Banks, Sunrise Tour Planner

Getting the gang back together...

When we charter an entire river cruise ship, we do everything possible to make it as comfortable an experience as possible for you. That means extra Sunrise staff to accompany you throughout your journey. For our Treasures of Burgundy and Provence exclusive charter this June (p. 18-19), Sunrise staff accompanying the cruise will be me, Kristen Dalrymple, Shelby Moll, Patty Worms and Huber Smeets. In addition, Sunrise Tours founders Jim and Charlene Dalrymple plan to join us for the fun. We still have cabins available so visit our website for more information or call for a detailed brochure. Brent Dalrymple

From the back of the bus... 2019 was an incredible year! We celebrated 25 years in business with countless laughs, first class meals and awe-inspiring sights around the world. We had the pleasure of serving hundreds of new customers in 2019, many of whom have already signed up to vacation with us again. We are extremely proud of the number of repeat travelers we count among our customers. Thank you for your continued trust in Sunrise Tours to deliver fantastic vacation memories! In the first installment of the Sunrise Tours charitable giving effort, we are happy to announce that we have donated $19,516 to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater MO Chapter. We made the donation in remembrance of longtime tour manager Frank Kirby, and sadly it seems most families will deal with a member stricken by Alzheimer’s or some form of dementia at some point. Hopefully a cure will be found someday soon! The donation to the Alzheimer’s Association equals $1 for every Sunrise traveler day in 2019, and going forward we intend to choose three charities per year (one per catalog) to which we will contribute. For every Sunrise traveler day in the first

part of 2020, Sunrise employee Shelby Moll has selected her favorite charity, Good Samaritan Ministries of the Metro-East, to receive a contribution. Very Important! Beginning January 1, 2020 we will begin offering a new travel protection plan for you to consider when joining a Sunrise Tour. We believe The Group Deluxe Travel Protection plan offered by Travel Insured is an excellent product offering pre-existing condition coverage and the opportunity to purchase coverage with final payment; it provides great coverage at a good price with maximum flexibility. Don’t worry - If you have already purchased travel protection for a 2020 departure, your insurance is intact. In addition, we have simplified our cancellation and refund policy, which will go into effect on any reservation made after January 1, 2020. Please see details on the Group Deluxe Travel Protection and our revised cancellation and refund policy on page 58. Thanks for traveling with us and we hope to see you on the road soon! Your deposit is fully refundable up to the final payment due date. On any cancellation made after final payment is due, the following fee schedules apply. All motorcoach cancellation fee (final payment due 45 days before departure): Cancel 45-15 days before departure 50% of total price Cancel within 15 days of departure 100% of total price Fly/Train cancellation fee (final payment due 60 days before departure): Cancel 60-30 days before departure 50% of total price Cancel within 30 days of departure 100% of total price Cruise and International tours: Refunds for cancellation of cruises and international tours depend on the cruise line or international destination. Please refer to specific tour page or call for details. Final Payment Final payment is due 45 days before departure for an all-motorcoach tour and 60 days before departure for tours involving air or train unless otherwise noted. One-day tour payments are due in full upon reservation. Some final payment deadlines for cruises or international destinations vary so please review specific tour page or call for details. Tour Price Inclusions (and tipping policy) The price of the tour includes all attractions, lodging, motorcoach transportation, breakfast and dinner daily (unless noted otherwise), and tips for hotel, airport, and restaurant personnel. If the tour involves air travel, the cost of the ticket is included unless otherwise noted. Some airlines charge for checked baggage and that is not included in the tour price. Tips for the driver, tour managers, and step-on guides are left to the discretion of the traveler and should be in accordance with services received. Typical gratuities for tour manager and driver are $5-$7 per person, per day. Travel Protection – NEW  please review Beginning January 1, 2020, we began offering the Travel Insured Group Deluxe travel protection for all Sunrise Tours. We believe this plan offers excellent travel protection, including coverage for pre-existing conditions in case you need to cancel for medical reasons and the flexibility to purchase coverage with final payment, at a very reasonable price. The cost of travel protection varies and can be found next to the fare listed in the catalog. We have always felt that travel protection is an individual decision, and therefore have not included it in the cost of our tours. However, we strongly recommend that you purchase the Group Deluxe travel protection for your Sunrise Tours vacation. There are many reasons (lost baggage, medical coverage, etc., please see Travel Insured Group Deluxe Plan document for details) to purchase travel protection but following are two main reasons we highly recommend the plan offered by Travel Insured. 1) Trip cancellation - If you are forced to cancel your Sunrise Tour for medical reasons (for you or an immediate family member), travel protection ensures a complete refund of monies paid (except for the premium paid for the plan). 2) Trip interruption – Unfortunately, there are circumstances that can prevent passengers from fully participating in a tour and may require an early departure or extended stay. For example, if a passenger suffers an injury which requires immediate care and prevents the traveler from continuing the tour, insurance will cover the cost of the extended stay, the cost of transportation home and the value of the missed tour (please see Travel Insured Group Deluxe plan information for details). If you do not purchase travel protection, you will personally incur these costs. From experience, we can tell you that this can be very expensive. To purchase travel protection, simply indicate that you would like to participate in the Group Deluxe travel plan on your booking form and we will add the premium due to your invoice. Payment for travel protection can be made any time until or along with final payment by check or credit card. Pick-up points For each departure, we determine the pick-up points (listed on the booking form) to be used based on the departure route and the number of requests

for each point. If less than 4 travelers request a point, we will not utilize that point and you must choose an alternate location to join the departure. All pick-up points allow parking for your vehicle. Sunrise Tour pick-up point partners offer the use of parking spaces by Sunrise Tours travelers as a courtesy. Neither Sunrise Tours nor parking lot owners assume responsibility for incidents occurring to parked cars. You will be notified of the timing and location of pick-up points for your vacation 2-3 weeks before departure. If you would like to spend a pre-night before departure, we can provide a hotel room at some of our pick-up points at a reduced rate. If the routing allows, we may pick up along the way in outlying areas. Identification Updated – please review A passport is required on any tour that leaves the United States, including Canada. Effective October 1, 2020, a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (DL) or identification card (ID) will be required to board domestic flights or enter military bases or secure federal facilities unless you have a valid US passport. Singles Requesting Roommates If you would like to go on tour with us, but do not have a roommate for a specific trip, let us know and we will match you with someone else (same sex of course). Just let us know at least 60 days before departure and we will room you with another traveler at the double rate. If there is no roommate available on the tour you request, you will still only have to pay the price of a double. If you decline the roommate assigned, you will be responsible for the single supplement. Of course, if you prefer to travel individually, you can still sign up for the single fare. This offer is not valid on cruises, and some select tours. Methods of Payment For deposits we accept checks or cash. For final payment we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, check or cash. Seating on the Motorcoach Seating is assigned and will be rotated on a daily basis. Special seating requests are honored on the basis of availability. Paying the single fare does NOT ensure you will have a seat to yourself on the coach, it only ensures you a room by yourself. Responsibility Sunrise Tours is not responsible for any injury, delay, loss or accident due to any act or negligence on the part of any person or company rendering services on any of our tours. We reserve the right to change any itinerary. After You Book A Tour... After you have booked a tour and we have received your deposit, the following is a schedule of correspondences: 1) confirmation of deposit received 2) your final payment is due 45 days before departure for an all-motorcoach tour or 60 days before departure for tours involving air or Amtrak trains (please note you will NOT receive an invoice when final payment is due) 3) you will receive a letter about 2-3 weeks prior to departure that will include your luggage tags and important details such as pick-up times and locations, hotel phone #’s, what to bring, and a detailed itinerary (subject to change). Please bring this with you on tour. Pictures By signing up for and participating in a tour, you are agreeing to have any pictures taken on tour published in Sunrise Tours printed or web material. If you do not wish to have your picture used in any form by Sunrise Tours, please notify us prior to traveling. Maps The maps provided in this brochure are general outlines and not meant to outline specific routes to be driven. We reserve the right to change routing on any tour. Last Minute Travelers We love adding last minute travelers! We are always happy to add you to a tour that isn’t sold out, even up to a few days before departure. However, please be aware that additional charges may be necessary (particularly on fly tours) if you book after final payment date. We are happy to advise you of such charges before your book.
