GENERAL INFORMATION

Students Who May Participate

All students who reside in the Sun Prairie Area School district or are currently open enrolled in the district’s grades 6 through 8 programs are eligible to participate in this year’s Summer School Program. District residents whose children attend private/parochial schools may enroll for Summer School. All review courses are offered for free to our students. Some enrichment courses have a fee for consumable materials (i.e., items students make and bring home).

Non-resident families may enroll their children on a tuition basis. For non-resident fee information, please review the information on the Summer School website.

Fees and Refunds

If your child is unable to attend Summer School after you have enrolled and paid a fee, you may have that amount applied to your child’s lunch account for the upcoming school year or have it refunded to you. Requests for fee refunds must be made before the Summer School session begins, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Please contact Jo Guyette at 608.834.6579 or jmguyet@sunprairieschools.org with questions about refunds.

Nursing Services

The Sun Prairie Area School District will have health care assistants, under the supervision of the District Nurse, Debbie Brown, on staff at all elementary schools. More information will be available to those who register for Summer School and are in need of ongoing nursing services. Please contact the District Nurse, Debbie Brown at 608.318-8106 or dlbrown@sunprairieschools.org if you have questions during Summer School.

Transportation Services

District transportation will be available, but we respect and support the decision by parents/caregivers to transport their children. Parents/caregivers may register their children for District transportation through the Summer School registration process if they qualify for transportation.

Safety

Creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment is our first and most important job here in the Sun Prairie Area School District. Fire and severe weather drills are conducted at the Summer School sites in June and July. The visitor management procedures are in place throughout Summer School. Parents/caregivers and other visitors must check into the main office and provide a photo identification card that will be run through the RAPTOR visitor management system. Visitors will get a sticky badge identifying the visitor, who they are visiting, the location they are visiting, and when they will be exiting. The sticker badge must be returned to the office at the conclusion of the visit. We appreciate that all parents/caregivers and other visitors meet our expectations for supporting student, staff, and visitor safety.

If students, parents/caregivers, or staff became aware of any potential or real safety issue or threat, they should notify the Summer School principal or teacher immediately. If the threat is urgent, individuals should dial 911.

ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION

CLICK HERE for step by step instructions.

Submitting Summer School Class Requests Via the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus

Parents/caregivers will submit their requests for Summer School classes through Infinite Campus.

If you have any issues with your parent portal, please contact Caprise Waak at 608.834.6571 or enroll@sunprairieschools.org

You will need to create an Infinite Campus account if:

 You have not enrolled your child in the Sun Prairie Area School District
