A 9.30am a boot camp will take place, featuring different activities and workout equipment, including kettle bell swings, rope throws and hammer throws.
“Just to help people’s motivation along,” says Lynley. “It’s easy to fall into the routine of doing the same thing all the time.” At 10.30am a running group will enjoy a four kilometre run around Bethlehem Town Centre, with exercise stations along the way, followed by a fun event promoting the centre at 11.30am. “We’ve had really loyal support from these businesses, and this is a great opportunity for us to give a little bit back to them too.
A dance show inspired by Kiwiana This year’s performance will showcase the students’ talents in an array of ballet, contemporary and modern dance styles in an end of year show – Dance NZ, Wetas, Weather and Wonders. Dance Institute principal Shireen Breebaart says the production will feature 100 per cent Kiwi music as well as a live performance by Tauranga band Nine Mile Stone. “Nine Mile Stone have been great to work with; their enthusiasm while working on this project has been fantastic. The dancers are very lucky to experience the opportunity of working with live music. The addition of Nine Mile Stone playing live is something quite special.” Shireen says the show features all of her students ranging between five and 18 years old, with former Dance Institute pupil and recent Unitec Contempo-

Dance NZ, Wetas, Weather and Wonders, is a celebration of New Zealand and all that it has to offer and promises to be a show to remember. The 2012 show will premiere on December 7 at 7pm at Bethlehem College Performing Arts Centre. A matinee and evening show will be performed at 1pm and By Zoe Hunter 6pm on December 8.
