Lycoming County Fair starts today

The Lycoming County Fair opens July 9 with the traditional harness racing at 4 p.m., kicking off 11 days of drool-worthy fair food, exciting carnival rides, adorable animals and all-round family fun.

In addition to the rides, livestock shows and delicious treats, a plethora of performances and activities are planned.

Here’s a look at some of the events slated for the 2025 Lycoming County Fair.

July 9 — Fair opens at 4 p.m., free admission

• 4 p.m. — Harness racing, grandstand

July 10 — Fair opens at 4 p.m., rides open at 5 p.m.

• 4 p.m. — Harness racing, grandstand

• 7 p.m. — Livestock supply auction

July 11 — Fair opens at 4 p.m., rides open at 5 p.m.

• 6:30 p.m. — Bulls and Barrels, grandstand, $12

July 12 — Fair opens at 10 a.m., rides open at 2 p.m.

• 10 a.m. — Antique tractor pull

• 4 p.m. — Draft horse show

• 5 p.m. — Tommy Hedrick Memorial Demolition Derby, grandstand, $12

Troy Fair returns with light shows, pig races and Jeff Dunham

The Troy Fair returns Monday through Saturday, July 21-26, with classic fair flair and a little something new, too.

Amidst the tractor pulls, derbies, woodcarving and pig races, star characters Achmed, Peanut, Walter, Jose and Bubba J will take the stage with a hand from their ring leader, world-renowned comedian Jeff Dunham.

While the complete schedule wasn’t finalized at the time of this guide’s publication, here’s a look at the week’s biggest known events and specials.

Sunday, July 20

• 7 p.m. — The 2024 Fair Queen and her court will kick off the 2025 fair’s official opening by crowning a new queen at the Lower Meadow Pavilion Stage. Free admission.

Monday, July 21

• 6:30 p.m. — Empire State Pullers tractor pulls, pricing starts at $17 for adults

Tuesday, July 22

• Senior Citizens Day — Adults age 65+ get in free, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• 6:30 p.m. — Tractor and truck pulls, pricing starts at $13 for adults

• 9:30 p.m. — Drone light show in partnership with Starlight Aerial Productions

Wednesday, July 23

• 7 p.m. — Jeff Dunham: Artificial Intelligence. Doors open at 6 p.m. See pricing information online.

Thursday, July 24

• Military Appreciation Day — Free admission all day for veterans and active duty service members, with ID.

• 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. — Farmers market, crafts, wineries and beer tasting by the creek

• 2 and 6 p.m. — Performances by American Idol finalist Aaron Kelly, Lower Meadow Pavilion Stage.

• 7:30 p.m. — Bullride Mania, pricing starts at $13 for adults

Friday, July 25

• 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. — Farmers market, crafts, wineries and beer tasting by the creek

• 7 p.m. — Demolition derby, pricing starts at $10 for adults

Saturday, July 26

• Kids Day — The annual bike raffle will see two children, one boy and one girl, take home new bikes and helmets. Winners will be drawn at 4 p.m.

• 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. — Farmers market, crafts, wineries and beer tasting by the creek

• 2 and 6 p.m. — Performances by the “ultimate Disney tribute band,” The Little Mermen. Lower Meadow Pavilion Stage.

• 6:30 p.m. — Demolition derby, pricing starts at $10 for adults.

Held in Alparon Community Park on Route 14 North, just outside of Troy, the Troy Fair’s gates will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with rides opening at 4 p.m. Monday, then at 1 p.m. for the rest of the week and noon on Saturday. No shortage of activities to enjoy at the Clinton County Fair

The Clinton County Fair makes its big return Friday, July 25, through Saturday, Aug. 2. Music, chow, livestock and an array of fun are slated for each day, capped off with a nightly drawing at 9:30 p.m. Winners must be present to receive their prizes. Here’s just a small sample of what’s in store.

Friday, July 25

• Clint’s County Fair Diner opens daily at 7 a.m.

Saturday, July 26

• 3 p.m. — Fair’s opening ceremony, main stage

Tioga County invites Isaac Cole & High Street to the fair

The 59th annual Tioga County Fair returns next week to celebrate local agriculture and talent. Though the official opening will be Monday, Aug. 4, weekend warriors can get an early look at the action with an antique tractor pull slated for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, or the open 4-H and FFA rabbit show and open horse show on Sunday, Aug. 3, at 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.

Sullivan County Fair is celebrating its 173rd year

The 173rd annual Sullivan County Fair will close out the region’s fair season, running Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 27-31.

A free fair preview will kick things off Tuesday, Aug. 26, which includes a home talent night and the fair queen contest. Then the show really gets started when the fair officially opens at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Here’s a look at what’s going on that week.

Aug. 27
