fhe first recorded meeting was ot the TSth. Septeuder 1909, when the twelve original, net and decided to fort & club, each of whom agreed to guarantee &3, to cover prolitiary outlay. The grounds were raised and leveled, A retaining wall was bails and piles driven and railings put up along the river frontage and in addition two saitable Loat slips were erected. (Many of the members helped in the abbte improvements): Pwo (fine) pair oaréd gigs were bought from the C.d.B.C.g- a cost Of SER payable at £3. per annum for four gears A Boat douse was erected ata £27:%0:0. A Piano was presented by Mr. James tgons and the yacht fenella by Mr. Nicholson. A large tent was purchased and tennis nets and Croquet sets and other gauos were provided. Garde seats were also provided and a boat bought for the use of ?nenbers. fhe foregoing now form portion of the clubs assets.

The growmds were not used for tennis during the season, bat Croquat was played by many members up to late in the year.

During thé season Band Prosenades were held with considerable saccess and were well patronized. whe thanks of thé eclab are due to the moubers of Mr. Howards Band, who performed on several occasions gratuitiously.

The membership of the clab increases to I30, 8 declined membership after their elections, but their cases were considered ty. the? commitves who excused then, The got Treas. will report as to the. number of defaulting suvoribers« e

At a goneral meeting held on the I7vth. August it was decided to purchase the fou simple of the crounds, and in order to acqatre?ané raise the parchase noney, to float the olub as a Limited Liability Canpany and look to the members to samecribe the capital. Fhis scheme was subsequently abandonedin favour of an alternative one of taking the grounds and an additional portion on a lease for I0O0 years at the rent of £35 per annum his was decided on at @ general meeting held on the 6th.
