Meet Our Millionth Member: Ferzeda Richardson

There is trust in numbers and having the distinct honor of serving over a million members is an accomplishment that means a lot to us. Why? Because it is proof of the value we offer members, the quality service our employees provide, and the overall trust our members have in our credit union. Especially because many of our members are our biggest advocates, referring their friends and family members to join Suncoast. Knowing that we would likely reach the millionth member milestone in late 2021, plans were put into place to create a bit of pomp and circumstance around the millionth member joining Suncoast with an in-branch celebration of the millionth member, followed by a months-long celebration filled with offers and giveaways for all of our members in early 2022. Suncoast welcomed its one-millionth member, Ferzeda Richardson, at our Big Bend (Riverview) location on December 29, 2021.

Ferzeda was surprised by Kevin Johnson, President and CEO, as well as members of senior leadership, and branch employees. To help recognize Ferzeda’s unique status as our millionth member, she was presented with a Suncoast prize-pack and a $1,000 deposit into her newly opened account! Ferzeda joined entirely online, using Suncoast’s newly enhanced online member application. When asked why Ferzeda chose Suncoast, she candidly shared “I wanted to bank somewhere I could actually save money.”, referring to our low fees and high returns for members. Wow! We are honored to know that Ferzeda joined for the same reason hundreds of thousands before her – the fantastic value and service we provide.
