Working at Suncoast
Suncoast employees bring their hearts to work each day to make sure our members get the very best. That’s why our culture lets our employees thrive and succeed.
Adapting Workspaces to Meet Team Needs
In recent years, workplace needs have changed. To ensure our teams are able to maximize their efficiency, we’ve updated the options for how our teams work each day.
As always, we have some positions that are located in a Suncoast office or branch. We also have remote work options for select positions, while others are hybrid, letting employees work from their home office some days and come into the office others.
These flexible career options help us attract new talent, and make sure that every department at Suncoast has the ability to securely staff their positions in the way that best suits their specific needs. Offering Career At Suncoast, we have so much Development more than just jobs — we offer Opportunities careers! Whether an employee wants to work their way up in a specific field or learn something new, our career paths let our team build the futures they want. Our Leadership Excellence Achievement Program (LEAP) had a new class of graduates in 2021. LEAP is a year-long leadership development program geared towards cultivating management and leadership talent within the credit union. We also continued to offer other leadership and learning development opportunities, with workshops available in a variety of topics. Employees can also shadow other team members through our CU 360 program. Managers are also encouraged to continue to grow and develop at Suncoast. Our management development journey is a series of competency-based workshops aimed to align development and training with established manager competencies and support vertical growth within the management career stream.
Hiring New Team Members in New Ways
As we approached the incredible milestone of reaching one million members in 2021, we needed to make sure we had the team needed to support them. To accomplish this, we had a number of hiring initiatives designed to find the very best talent to become new Suncoast employees.
Our job fairs in 2021 were more than just an opportunity to start an amazing career with Suncoast. We also offered signing bonuses to new hires and referral bonuses for Suncoast employees.
To ensure the safety of potential hires and Suncoast employees, we even offered drive-thru job fairs that allowed for applications and interviews to be completed from the safety of an applicant’s car during the pandemic.
The results of these efforts were astounding, bringing our team to more than 2,100 employees strong to better serve our members.
Achieving Accolades
With all the excellent work our team does each day, it’s no wonder we often receive recognition for it. We’re honored by the local and national accolades we’ve received, as they represent everything we’ve achieved during our mission to help our members and communities thrive.

Continuing Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Our culture at Suncoast celebrates multiple points of view because we know our strengths are in our differences.
As a credit union, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are among the cooperative principles that we live by. From our community outreach to supporting the needs of our minority-majority workplace, our commitment to DEI is woven into all we do at Suncoast.
Last year, we launched three new employee resource groups, founded and led by volunteer team members. These groups meet, support each other and share their unique experiences to enhance the work environment and give back to the community. Our newest employee resource groups are Black Leaders and Allies Cultivating Change (BLACC), LGBTQ+ & Allies and Suncoast’s Alliance for Leadership and Unification of Troops and Employees (SALUTE).
Each of these groups have their own mission, vision and goals, but they all offer our entire team a sense of connection and camaraderie.
