JERRY AQUINO

Professor Jerry has over 15 years of consistent Jiu Jitsu training and Law Enforcement experience.

Jerry Aquino is a Black Belt under Kevin Sheridan.

He actively competes in IBJJF Tournaments, Fight 2 Win and other Jiu Jitsu organizations.

His Jiu Jitsu journey began in 2007 at Golden Team fighters in Newark, NJ. During his brown belt years, he began teaching at Sheridan BJJ and was later promoted to Black Belt in 2019.

Jerry founded Aquino Jiu Jitsu in 2021 and is currently the head Black Belt of SUMMUS Jiu Jitsu Academy.

I believe competition is important but my focus is to better “ the normal persons “ life and the “ non athlete “ through the practice of Jiu Jitsu .

NICK DELTUFO Nick started his martial arts journey in 1979, while in college, as a Shotokan karate practitioner.

In 2007 Nick began his journey to Black Belt, beginning from a white belt again, and earned his 4th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. In 2008 Nick joined Gracie New Jersey and taught self-defense classes to international students at Princeton University.

In 2007 Nick earned his Black Belt from Professor David Adiv Nick joined SUMMUS in 2018, where he has been learning, training, and teaching.

In 2021 Nick competed in the IBJJF Pan Am in Florida and World Masters Tournament in Las Vegas, medaling in both events as a Masters 7 competitor.

"SUMMUS/Aquino BJJ is a fantastic place to learn, grow and improve", states Nick. I As a 63-year-old BJJ practitioner, Nick lives by the mantra; "It's not who is good, but who is left."

CASEY SCHWIND

Casey began her martial arts journey grappling in 2012 beginning with no gi/catch wrestling.

In 2015 she began training in the gi under BJJ Black belt Andre "Gigueto" Soares.

In 2016 she began training under pro mma fighter and former AMA instructor Sean Santella at Miller Brothers mma where she received her first stripe.

After that she transitioned to AMA fight club under Jonathan Helwig where she received her blue belt and then her (current rank) purple belt.

Casey began training at SUMMUS in 2020 and is currently the coach for the all women's Jiu Jitsu class.

KEITH WITTENSTEIN Keith started studying Jiu Jitsu in 1997 with Master Renzo Gracie.

After receiving his blue belt, he began teaching at Colombia University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club.

Upon moving to NJ in 2015, Keith began training Jiu Jitsu at Sheridan BJJ. He has received his brown and black belts from Professor Kevin Sheridan.

In 2019 Keith joined SUMMUS and began teaching as well.

Keith has opened several Crossfit gyms and coaches Crossfit seminars around the country.

Keith loves teaching and sharing his knowledge with others.

MIKE CABANAS

Mike is currently Purple Belt and the Academy’s assistant adult instructor.

After being wounded in combat and retiring from the Army in 2013, Mike went on to continue his life’s work as a law enforcement officer.

In 2021, he medaled in dozens of IBJJF International Opens across the US, in both Gi & NoGi divisions; 2nd at IBJJF American Nationals (Gi & NoGi); 3rd at IBJJF PanAms (NoGi) and took 3rd (Master2 lightweight) at the IBJJF World Masters Championship in Las Vegas.

In 2021, IBJJF Ranked Mike 2nd in the world in his division for NoGi, and 4th in his Gi division.

Mike's true passion, however is competing across the country on the national and world stages of the sport for IBJJF.

Mike loves to teach because it gives him the opportunity to lead, guide and influence others (reminiscent of his career in the Army, where he served as an enlisted infantryman and then eventually a Captain during both training & combat operations).
