The Summit Foundation and its Partners Award Scholarships to 76 High School Graduates 91 members of the 2013 class at Summit High School were awarded more than $323,000 in scholarships on April 1, 2013. On that evening, The Summit Foundation and its partners provided 64 Summit High School students with $133,110 in scholarships. Six of the scholarships awarded by The Foundation were distributed through a joint program with Summit County Government. Julie Chandler, mother of Nicole Chandler, stated, “Our family is eternally grateful for The Summit Foundation’s support of Nicole’s education. Your amazing generosity has reinforced Nicole’s understanding of how wonderful it has been to grow up in such a loving and giving community.” In addition to the scholarships awarded to Summit High School graduates, five scholarships totaling $7,000 were awarded this spring to students graduating from neighboring community high schools. The neighboring schools with students who received spring scholarships included Lake County High School, South Park High School, and Vail Mountain School. Since 1991, The Foundation’s scholarship program has awarded more than $2 million to local high school graduates. (continued on page 2...)
