Summertime at sca

Camp Eagle Summit & Camp Eagle Summit, Jr. On June 1, SCA welcomed 100 plus smiling and excited campers to Camp Eagle Summit (CES) and Camp Eagle Summit, Jr. (CES Jr). The hallways and classrooms are full again with their laughter, singing, joy, and energy. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to impact these students and be a light for them this summer! From water balloons, to capture the flag, to learning dances, and singing, the students have had a lot of fun with new friends in their CES bunkhouses.

Prom SCA’s Junior/Senior Prom was held at the Cider House in Garden City on June 12. SCA was excited to continue the tradition of Junior/ Senior Prom for students who have been looking forward to this event all year. Seniors Zeke Oppriecht and Kate Lyle were crowned the SCA 2020 Prom King and Queen.

August 19 - First Day of School The first day of school for the 2020-21 school year is August 19! While the administration and COVID-19 Task Force continue to meet throughout the summer, plans are to resume oncampus classes on August 19. Current plans are for all SCA divisions — early ed, elementary, and secondary — to resume classes as normal.

SCA First Day of School — AUGUST 19 —

Graduation The SCA Class of 2020 graduated on June 26 in a live ceremony with families, students, faculty, and staff in Odessa. While attendance was limited in number due to the pandemic, it was wonderful to see the Class of 2020 assemble as a family and celebrate all that God has done in their lives. It was a joy to hear the prayers of the administration that they grow in their relationship with the Lord, walk in His ways, and discover the plans He has for their futures.

SCA Head of School Linda Harrelson said, “While lunch and lunchroom operations will be as normal as possible this fall, the administration and COVID-19 Task Force continue to work on alternative lunch and cafeteria solutions in line with safety protocols. Our ultimate goal is to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe! I cannot wait for the excitement that will come with having everyone back on campus together on August 19.”
