Exploring Science Through Art & STEM Activities
Elementary teachers at BOCES creatively integrate art and STEM projects into science lessons to engage students. For example, one class built circuits as a science project, while another group learned about the phases of the moon through a cookie-based activity. Additionally, some classes explored the Aurora Borealis by reading stories and non-fiction texts and creating Northern Light scenes with pastel chalk.
The teachers at BOCES provide engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our students, fostering critical thinking skills, creativity, and an appreciation for cultural celebrations. Through hands-on activities and creative projects, students immerse themselves in the essence of these occasions.
