Janine Waddell Fight Director

Janine Waddell is an internationally certified Advanced Actor Combatant and sits on the Board of Directors for Fight Directors Canada. She is also a graduate of the Grant MacEwan Theatre Arts program. Select film and stage choreography credits include Plight: The Superhero Rock Opera (Group of Rogues); Pains of Youth (Studio Theatre); Swordplay: the Musical (ACME Theatre Company); and Days of Wine and Roses (Trunk Theatre). Other theatrical credits include Kill Shakespeare (Thou Art Here); McCrackin 2 (Accidental Humour); Albertine in Five Times (Walterdale Playhouse); and Miss Julie (50% Fruit Productions). When not choreographing violence or teaching it at the Citadel’s Foote Theatre School, Janine can be found with her four wonderful children. She would like to give special thanks to her partner in life both on and off the stage.

David Ley Dialect Coach

David holds an MFA in performance from York University. He is a Professor in the Drama Department at the University of Alberta where he teaches Voice and Speech, Dialects, and Acting. He spent ten seasons as a Voice Coach at Canada’s Stratford Festival and continues to be a regular instructor in Stratford’s Birmingham Conservatory. He has done numerous feature newspaper interviews commenting on dialects and vocal performance and has been featured in two CBC documentaries on Canadian speech. His “Three minutes to a Proper British Dialect” video has been seen over a million times on YouTube.

Matthew Skopyk Composer

Matthew Skopyk is an Edmonton based Sound Designer and Composer. Recent Design/Composition credits include Romeo & Juliet (Freewill Shakespeare Festival); Or The Whale (Wishbone Theatre); Vigilante (Catalyst Theatre/Citadel); Playing With Fire: The Theo Fleury Story (Citadel Theatre/Persephone Theatre/ Alberta Theatre Projects); ENRON (National Arts Centre); Whisper (Studio Theatre/Catalyst Theatre); Michelle et Ti Jean and Palace of the End (Theatre Network); Titus Andronicus, As You Like It, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard III, Twelfth Night and Othello (Freewill Shakespeare Festival). Matthew also currently resides as the Sound Supervisor for the Department of Drama at the University of Alberta. 48 CITADEL THEATRE 2016/17 season
