WHAT’S ON SUMMER May - August 2023 Theatre Workshops Music Entertainment 020 8292 9222 www.chickenshed.org.uk
Tales from the Shed are vibrant, interactive theatre shows, perfect for young children. They are informal, lively and amazingly engaging as the performers and audience share the same space. Every carefully planned show incorporates educational songs, movement and language games, which help promote brain development and early learning in young children. Having worked in partnership with early years experts over three decades, our diverse team present educational stories featuring our much loved characters - from Can-Can the beautiful bird to laid back Lion Down and The Thing That Goes Blurgh!

Come with us to Planet Play, our magical world of sensory learning, wonder and exploration, for babies and toddlers aged 0-3 years. These fun, immersive sessions encourage young children to develop and explore the world around them through song, music, and movement.
Created by our Performances to Children team, Planet Play has been specifically devised to encourage play and early communication development in young children. Research shows that singing songs and rhymes, on a regular basis, helps widen your child’s vocabulary and listening skills, which are an essential part of learning to read, write and communicate.
Learn new songs, play with puppets, dance and enjoy time with your little one.

SUPPORTING CHICKENSHED
Thank you so much for supporting Chickenshed. Did you know that every year we need to raise £3 million? We earn money through ticket sales, education fees, membership fees and payments for delivering projects. However, every year we still need to fundraise at least £1.6 million to keep Chickenshed open.
If you know of a local company, school or community group who would like to get involved and support us then please get in touch at community@chickenshed.org.uk.
Whether you whip up a storm in the kitchen and raise some dough, put your best foot forward and take on a half marathon, or choose us as your Charity of the Year, we are here to help you every step of the way.
Alternatively, if you are able, please make a donation today so we can continue with our important work to help our children and young people flourish. Please scan to donate or visit www.chickenshed.org.uk/donate.

EDUCATION AT CHICKENSHED
These end of year shows are the final pieces by students that have studied on our Foundation Degree BTEC and BA Courses and represent the culmination of all their learning and creativity during their time here. Each year group has a unique vibrancy that inspires their work and the Foundation Degree and BA Shows are devised and directed by the students so the original pieces are created by our young people.
These productions are only open to the public once a year and are a great opportunity to see our unique creative processes in action. Expect to be moved, entertained and inspired.
