CEPALCO starts three-hour rotating brownouts in Oro CAGAYAN de Oro City––The Cagayan Electric Power & Light Company, Inc. [CEPALCO) has issued notice that due to the continuing power supply curtailments being implemented by the National Grid Corporation of the Phils. [NGCP] all over Mindanao as a result of the Mindanao–wide power shortage, it is constrained to start the 3-hour rotating brownouts in the city. CEPALCO has started implementing the rotating brownouts within its service area the other day, April 23. The notice adds that CEPALCO however is cautioning customers that the actual switch -off and switch-on time may vary from the announced schedules. It will depend on the actual load curtailment levels imposed by NGCP on CEPALCO. The 3-hour rotating brownouts within the CEPALCO service area will continue for the period April 24 to 30, 2014 due to the continuing power supply curtailments imposed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) all over Mindanao. Health department downplays MERS-CoV scare in Region 12 COTABATO City––The Department of Health in Region 12 (DOH-12) has toned down widespread speculations on the existence of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome – Corona Virus (Mers-CoV) in its area of supervision.
The conjecture came about after a male nurse who was one of the 415 passengers of an April 15 Philippines-bound flight of the United Arab Emiratesbased Etihad Airlines tested positive from the deadly disease. The nurse is currently under quarantine.
Eleven other flight passengers, who are also Filipino workers in the UAE, are from Region 12. The region comprises the provinces of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, North Cotabato and the cities of Cotabato, General Santos, Koronadal,

incident occurred, the sufferings of the victims and their families remain close to the hearts of the Hong Kong people. “With the final resolution of the incident, I sincerely hope that the deceased may rest in peace, and the injured and their families can move on with courage and strength,”
