CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan De Oro City – The Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) would issue a directive to “vulnerable” establishments in Northern Mindanao to contract the services of the “K-9” security providers, a top police official said Monday. Supt. Rowen R. Pornobe , the group commander of the RCSU, said that the deployment of “K-9” security in vulnerable establishments would preempt possible incursion of illegal explosives in targeted establishment. Pornobe mentioned the

various commercial malls and other convergence areas in the region, which could be susceptible to attacks by terror groups who might be out to inflict injury to the innocent people in the community. The RCSU chief also cited power plants, banks, port areas, and public markets as “highly vulnerable places (HVP),” which, when attacked could destabilize the peace and order situation in the areas concerned. PDEA: Alleged drug dealer fights back By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent
CAGAYAN de Oro City-A suspected drug dealer allegedly fought back the raiding team when they swooped down his homes prompting the operatives to shoot him on Thursday. Armed with a search warrant, PDEA agents raided the houses of Jabbar Sangcopan in Barangay Kauswagan and in Opol, Misamis Oriental late Thursday afternoon.
Named in the warrant dated May 2, 2017 were Jabbar and one of his wives, Nasifa. His other wife Sindi was not in the warrant, which was issued by Judge Dennis Alcantar, of Regional Trial Court branch 18, for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Both Nasifa, residing in Kauswagan, and Sindi, who’s living in Opol, were arrested in separate raids and were detained at the
PDEA-10 detention facility as of Friday morning. Reports quoted Gilbert Buenafe, PDEA-Caraga regional director, as saying Sangcopan was shot for fighting back (“nanlaban”) the raiding team. Buenafe said they tried to avoid a bloody encounter but they had no choice but to ensure the safety of their operatives. But Sangcopan’s children said their father did not fight back contrary
