Concert for a cause granted tax exemption

THE City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Cagayan de Oro Vice Mayor Caesar Ian E. Acenas approved an ordinance exempting the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Holy Eucharist Sacred Heart Parish, represented by Rev. Fr Jose Arnel A. Martinez, SSS, from payment of Amusement Tax for its concert, entitled: Rekindling the Rhythm of Love with Jose Mari Chan, to be held at the Atrium Limketkai Center on June 29,2013. The Power learned that the purpose of the project is to give Eucharistic Values Formation Program through seminars, conferences and recollections to participants free of charge. This value formation

program centered on the Eucharist is essential to human development, according to organizers. The program also provides physical nourishment such as regular feeding for the grass roots, free medical services, scholarship program for high school and college students and Psycho social and emotional integration program for Sendong victims at the NSVDR Parish in Consolacion. The committees on games and amusement chaired by Councilor Adrian L. Barba and on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ramon G. Tabor favorably endorsed the ordinance. (APD)
