Responsible Parenthood in the 21st Century By Grace T. Palahang Salawagan National High School

Children are not easy to raise, they do not come with any guidelines and they most definitely do not come with any kind of pause button. They just come with a whole lot of emotional and physical needs. If parents fail to meet their needs, it often has lasting effects on them. If you are a parent, the law holds you responsible for the way you bring up your child. Parenting goes beyond merely feeding and clothing your children. Parenting involves providing a safe environment for their growth, providing for their basic needs, allowing them to develop their

own identity, nurturing their self esteem, installing moral and social values, respecting them, educating them, spending time with them etc. Parenting does not only require love and affection but also discipline. You need to draw the line for your children. You need to shout at them when they are wrong. It may break your heart to say no to something for them but you need to do it. Being a good parent does not mean you have to give in to everything they ask for. You need to learn to give them what they need and not only what they want. Parental responsibility

Why Me! By Jasmen S. Litub Dagumbaan Elementary School

Complains, troubles and conflicts. Those are one of the common incidents in school. One is the victim and the other is a suspect. A child can ask, “Why, me?”, “Why they don’t like me?”, “Why this happens to me?”. Bullying is a fact present in a social group or an organization. Republic act no. 10627 “An act requiring all elementary and secondary schools to adopt policies to prevent and address the acts of bullying in their institutions”. Bullying refer to any severe or repeated use by one

or more students of a written, verbal or electronic expression, or a physical act or gesture, or any combination thereof, directed at another student that has the effect of actually causing or placing the latter in reasonable fear of physical or emotional harm or damage to his property; creating a hostile environment at school for the other student; infringing on the rights of the other student at school; or materially and substantially disrupting the education process or the orderly operation of a school (Sec. 2).

do es not only b elong to the mother or father, if the parents are married, the responsibility lies equally with both the mother and the father. Having parental responsibility basically means that you as a parent have the right to make important decisions regarding medical treatment and education etc for your child. In many countries parental responsibility lies with both parents only if they are married, if they are divorced, the parental responsibility lies only with the mother. Should the mother die, the parental responsibility does not automatically pass over to the father. The courts will

first consider it and than hand over the child to the person it feels will best take care of the child. If you are a mom or a dad, I hope this will help you! First I want to tell you that you are always doing your best with your kids. Nobody ever taught you to be a parent. You have to make it up as you go along and that’s so hard. In my career as a teacher, I can honestly say that the vast majority of parents I met always really had their kids’ best interest at heart but sometimes, they just didn’t know how to get it across. You are truly a cornerstone in helping your kids to be successful in the future.

The law dictates the school to avoid bullying for it may cause severe damage in the physical or mental well-being of a person. But in the school community this concern is seldom ignored. Character and intelligence are the sole main purpose of educating a child. For these children brings the future of the nation. School is not just a place of learning; it is an avenue for social and emotional development of a child. It is considered a cradle for their development. Yet, the bullying exists. How much a single word uttered, act, decision brings frustration and loneliness towards a human being. An irreplaceable trauma, a felling to be felt for a lifetime. It is a pain for the child

much more with the parents who brought life with these individuals. Justice they may say, whatever the case and the reason it sounds. For bullying is considered a crime and therefore needs immediate attention among the school leaders, teachers, parents, and whole educational community. Why me? Desperate question of an innocent. Nurture a gift for each pupil. Let them learned in a friendly and peaceful environment. Provide a faculty of interaction and camaraderie among the pupils or your kids. For it takes a community to educate a child. Understand and be a light.

Reading-A tool to improve one’s knowledge By Cristin Dagatan Tingson Teacher I Purok Pag-asa Elementary School Quezon II District

Reading not only has tremendous power when it comes to fueling the development of all aspects of language ability, its importance to the entirety of a human life in this day and age really can’t be overstated. To help underscore this point, we initiate something to showcase on the power and importance of literacy. Cut yourself a big piece of cake and read along with me… Reading is so important to motivate child interest in learning and to make studies more meaningful to him. Reading means a lot of things and it has purposes. Maybe it’s for learning or it just for fun, but there’s a hindrance for the child to learn the socalled those who belonged to illiteracy sector. In Pag-asa Elementary School where I’m assigned these days, the illiteracy of the pupils is identified as the main problem when I came here, because school facilities were not yet really provided. No enough reading materials, like books, internet or something that could improve reading ability, so in order to help us as well as our stakeholders tugging an idea to have 10 minutes a day and it is called “KAPWA KO TURUAN KO”. The Pag-asa

Teachers established a group consisting of good readers and higher grade pupils or in other words little teachers. The aim of this program is to improve the reading ability of our school learners and to help reducing the number of illiterate pupils. This also promotes good relationship among pupils by instilling the values of friendship and using spare time wisely. So that they’ll know that time is very important and not ought to waste in this age. Pupils listens well every advice you’re giving to them. In other words this is the molding point of an individual. And to correct their behavior the reason why the pupils cannot cope up easily with the topics being discussed by teacher it’s not because they are stupid it’s because of their behavior that makes them dull. To solve those problems we followed some steps in imitating the program: Ø First we group all the frustration of every reader Ø Second each group we assigned Ate and Kuya Teachers Ø Third inform the stakeholders so that parents will personally teach his/her child because what the parents does, the child is influenced.

CONTIUING STUDIES; A NEED IN TEACHING PROFESSION By MA. FE LARA M. JUNTILLA – Teacher II Pangantucan Central Elementary School

Few years ago, this was my life. At school. I did my best to gain knowledge in order for me to impart it to my future pupils. My daily routine makes my life simple and predictable. I became stagnant and careless, I didn’t care what will become of me when I got my work as a teacher. I am contented teaching my pupils until I realized I must grow professionally inside and out. To be more efficient I should update and upgrade my capabilities to meet advance children. It is not fair for them if I stick to the old ways where the world have all the things to offer. It is also an advantage for me since I can use it for professional growth.
