Briefly Yellow labels THE Department of Energy is calling the public to examine Yellow Labels or Energy Guides attached/printed in household appliances and lighting products to ensure ef ficient, qualit y products that can bring beneficial re sul t s d ur ing t he Energ y Efficiency and Conservation Seminar on May 6, here. Kristian Carlo B. Victorio, DOE Research Engineer said the yellow-colored cards are indicators of a product’s efficiency and performance that the public should heed when buying appliances and lighting products. “The rule of thumb is simple, the higher the number, the more efficient the appliance is,” Victorio added. Victorio also cited important reasons why yellow labels should be taken seriously. First, it ensures consumers that their products are certified and efficient. Second, it trims down monthly electric bill, and it helps the environment.
Summer jobs TAGUM City -- Grantees of the Special Program for Students (SPES) in the province are happy the provincial government has finally deployed them to their respective assigned offices. The province facilitated the employment contract of the first batch of SPES with 140 recipients after the lapse of the election ban, which froze the implementation of the program as Comelec prohibited the release, disbursement or expenditure of public funds, including the hiring of employees, from March 29-May 13 this year.
