BACKGROUND //
Clutch is an immersive mental fitness experience and tool for athletes, to break the mental health stigma in sports. Clutch.World is an online ecosystem and social experience that leverages the digital world to improve one’s mental fitness & wellbeing in the physical world.
APPROACH //
To visually empathize with the young athletes struggling with mental health, the use of photography with noise effects and the layered typography aims to deliver that Clutch fully understands their struggling points, anxiety, and stress. Furthermore, kinetic typography, such as a rotating text cylinder, conveys that Clutch will actively help them over come their struggles and promises its service will help them make signs of progress and move forward.

Look: SF is a serial magazine that introduces San Francisco and its beauty visually. The magazine reflects the creative journey of an artist who explores the hidden beauty of the city. [Breaking Ground] is one of the series. It is about its architectural history and hidden beauty in Dogpatch.
APPROACH //
Dogpatch is a unique place where the past and the present coexist. Its history can be found in architecture and its architectural elements. Over time, the materials used for construction and the building style have been changed. Dogpatch is a perfect area to observe the changes, with buildings of the past and present. The goal of this book is to visually convey architectural aesthetics and Dogpatch’s history and inspire readers.

Package 2 Packaging Thomas McNulty
Lucca Delicatessen is a family-owned Deli, opened in San Francisco in 1929. The main products are salami, sandwiches, cheese and other Italian food ingredients. The client’s new branding goal is to target younger consumers from teens to younger adults in their mid-20s, beyond the existing consumer.
APPROACH
The rebrand is catered to focusing on the bright, vivid at mosphere and fresh ingredients that Lucca provides to at tract next-generation consumers’ eyes and stimulate their appetite. At the client’s request, the logo includes a hint of the Italian deli. The double-lined shapes used for the pattern are designed based on the colors and shapes of salami and cheese, the main products of Lucca.

Package 3 Packaging
[Makju] is a new brand of the traditional Korean rice wine, Makgeolli, aimed at the global market. The brand name “Makju” means the last drink that workers and farmers who completed their hard work in the past drank to wrap up their daily lives. It is a compound word consisting of “Mak,” which means the end, and “Ju,” which means alcohol. [Makju]’s branding goal is to deliver traditional Korean beauty visually and tastefully to consumers. The desirable settlings of makgeolli is murky at the bottom of bottle, and it can be expressed more artistically through the beauty of a traditional Korean ink painting. Also, the rough texture of Hanji, which is the tranditional korean paper, matches the feel of desirable settlings in Makgeolli itself.

Hanbok and Hangul are cultures and also arts that can convey the traditional beauty of Korea well. Line and Han are books that inform readers whoare not unfamiliar with traditional Korean beauty and culture through detailed information about Hanbok and Hangul.
APPROACH //
Assuming that the target audience already has a lot of interest and information about Korea, the main purpose of this book is to convey Korea’s traditional beauty and detailed information about the beauty in a visually interesting way. The layout of this book is a modification of the layout of traditional Korean books. Also, fabric-textured paper for the cover contains traditional books’ visual elements.

[Primary Beauty] is a typographic card set and it introduces and informs kids about Futura through primary shapes and colors. Futura is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Paul Renner and released in 1927. It is based on geometric shapes, especially the circle, similar in spirit to the Bauhaus design style of the period.
Focusing on the fact that Futura was designed based on the basics, this card set was designed with these main visual elements: basic shapes and primary colors. The front contains visual comparison analysis and key information about Futura. On the backside, the pattern is designed with Futura numbers.

BACKGROUND //
[The Mix] is a conceptual cookbook that provides information about avocados and recipes using avocados through Mandala, colors, and paper materials. Avocados themselves are rich in nutrition and flavor, but they are very useful in that they can create a richer flavor when mixed with other ingredients.
APPROACH //
This book delivers recipes using avocados through a Mandala illustration. Each Mandala-style illustration in the book introduces the ingredients of each recipe. Mandala is the art form that can best convey the main concept of this book, The Mix. Also, the three different textured papers used in the book convey more vividly the skin of the avocado and the feel of the pulp.

Jeju Zip believes there are many unused, abandoned, and alienated spaces in Jeju (a island in Korea). Many people who regard Jeju as an object of investment have passed through, and many buildings have been easily built in Jeju and erased from people’s memory. Jejuzip tries to repair these spaces, restore them, and find new colors and identities for them.
The ultimate goal of this report magazine series is to help employees understand the business structure and design strategy of the Jeju Zip. Furthermore, its another purpose is to be a guideline book for start-ups with the same goals as the Jeju Zip. The magazine series consists of three books. Archiving Strategy, Design Strategy, and Consumer Analysis. To visually maximize the purpose of each magazine, each book is designed with different concepts of cover and layouts.
